Thanks Sam! I decided to keep this one super natural so I could capture the vibe of the day. I always enjoy shaking up the videos and editing style to keep things fresh.
I’m viewing on my phone as always. I can tell you from my end that I thought all the camera settings (different mm(s)) in this video were perfect. And, I also thought that some of the shots were taken from a DSLR (like Sony or something) because it was so good.
Awesome video, dude. Such a good experience as a viewer. So many ski and snowboard videos out there, but few capture the actual experience like this did. Bravo.
Rise and Alpine, that sir was an absolute insane vid, i was just there in October and wondered what it would be like with snow covering it, parked almost in the exact spot too lol!! You just keep getting better! Thankyou for puting the effort you do into your videos, 🍻to you both!! Awesome
Wow - so legend you've been here since 500 subs. Great to have you along. I wish I could see all the people who've been tagging along since the start. Really appreciate you brother!
I was outside smoking a bowl and watched this on my phone.....I then went inside and watched it on my 100" screen. I wish i could subscribe twice, haha. I shared this video because this was absolutely epic. Congrats to both of you.
Wow when i clicked on this video I didnt think my attention span was gonna make it all the way but damn those 25 minutes went like a breeze. Absolutly sick video bro! Keep up the good work!
So great to see you ski and area that I have hiked many years in the fall to see the golden larches. You are wise not to take the creek out. Throwing an extra merino top layer in your pack will save you when you sweat out that layer!!!
Sooooo good. Everything about this was excellent; could feel your inspiration. Content, long edits, story telling - all great. Impressive adventure - sweaty palms every time there was exposure. Contrats James and Rob - such good adventure partners.
Just incredible!! By the time the Vlog ended, my gigantic grin practically cracked my face---as the song goes....🎼🎵."Every hike you take, every turn you make.............I'll be watching you!🎵🎶 Lynn In NYC ("Ski Mt. Cement")
Wow, thanks for sharing those awesome views without me having to break a sweat! Several areas in the Alps go over 3200metres, and that’s lifts up to that height. One or two around 3400 to the top lift. If you’re not feeling great you can feel a little light headed. Thanks again for another great video👍🇬🇧
I really love that you didn't edit out the avalanche safety protocols you guys were doing. Oooo! and that clip from Rob's perspective of you just zooming down that slope... dang sexy lookin!
But have you seen my quads???? The PT's do get a bit exhausting on the backpack... Time for an upgrade! Very down for Fissile. Maybe bang out psycho as well?
Thanks man this season is probably a busy for the island but if we get good snow next year you gotta do a mount Cain Mount Washington trip just go mid week for Washington and wait till boomerang is open
Looks dope, I definitely wanna ski frosty as well (tho I have grand hopes of the true summit). Looks like we're finally getting some good weather next week. You're welcome, because it only happened cause I'm leaving town for a bit 🤣🙃
Thanks for leaving LOL - True summit would be a double bushwack... Might make for crap skiing though especially if you couldn't navigate the cornices in big snow years!
What an awesome mission! But SKI STRAPS, man, one is not enough, I always gotta bring a ton of ski straps into the backcountry! I usually bring at least five in case a binding breaks, skin clips break, etc.
Maaaaannn do I wish we were able to come on this with you guys. Fucking rad effort boys!! Of course you and Rob tried to bootpack Frosty summit with your skis on your shoulders like it was Spanky's Ladder 🤣🤣
Wish you were there with us too brother! Lot's of lines for us to explore up there another day. Not going to make the shoulder pack mistake again LOL. Putting skis on your back half way up a 40 degree slope is kind of terrifying hahahaa
@riseandalpine Thanks, I installed them both. I was in Whistler last week from Monday to Thursday, and it was pretty good. Next trip there is March 11 to 14. Only problem was having December legs in February.
I think you mastered a RUclips vlog. And, I watch a lot of RUclips videos, many different kinds. Rob’s guest appearance was perfect too.
Thanks Sam! I decided to keep this one super natural so I could capture the vibe of the day. I always enjoy shaking up the videos and editing style to keep things fresh.

that ending clip was mad satisfying even for someone that didn't hike for 7 hours
Best tasting beer EVER
Frosty lookin straight out of a movie. Crazy dude.
Such a wild experience!
yoo I305 profile!
Holy Jesus. Frosty balls of steel ! You rock, mates.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Rob's balls were frosting. Mine were sweating!
@@riseandalpine 🤣😁🥶🥶
maybe your best video yet. I was smiling all the way. Thanks for taking us along!
Honestly one of my favourites too. My favourite part was Rob and I singing while eating pie... So ridiculous hahahaah
Unbelievable, you guys are in crazy shape, you guys never even look gassed in the video👍🎿🏔
Running off pure raw Liquid Courage!
holy shit! Best video of yours yet, honestly amazing, great work man I'm so damn jealous hahah!!
Thank you so much - one of my favourite adventures ever! Will remember this one forever.
The greatest adventures are the ones that take us on an exciting journey within ourselves !
Beautifully said!
This looks like a dream. You've been killing it lately with each video.
It was a dream. Thanks so much!

Awesome! Those beers at the end must have tasted so sweet!🤙
Never did a beer taste so good
@@riseandalpineI ain’t tasted a bad one yet 😂. I could never ski like you but I’d try, better chance I could drink the same 🍻
Awesome video, dude. Such a good experience as a viewer. So many ski and snowboard videos out there, but few capture the actual experience like this did. Bravo.
So stoked that the emotion translated well through the video!

Thanks Mark! I'm eager to check it out in the summer now too :). So funny we parked in the same place. Cheers!
Are you up at Whistler early next week?
Wow you realy do a fantastic job recording your adventures!
Thanks Patrick. It adds an extra layer of challenge but it's a blast to roll it back and share the experiences with others
Nothing like a classic James and Rob touring vid. A real feel good ski vlog 🙌
Glad we could bring you along!
I go up to silver star every year from Seattle and holy moly I love home cafe I am so happy you guys went there too that place is amazing
HOME is the GOAT of restaurants! That pie :)
The best you ever filmed!!! What an epic adventure and great communication you never hear on the hike up. Just a skiers dream summit and line.
Thanks Dave! One of my favourite videos ever too. Still buzzing about the day!
What an amazing video. I think that's one of your best one, capturing the beauty of British Columbia. Way to go James and Rob. Love the ending.......
Never had a better tasting beer in my life!
Epic dudes! Skiing vicariously through you as my knees can't take it anymore. Thank you.
Thanks for coming along :)
Been with you since you had 500 subscribers, love to see the channel growing so much. 100k soon!!

Get ready for the NW flow to return.
Here we go boys!!!
Man, thanks for sharing that. Good on you guys.
Thanks for the comment. I rewatched the video myself LOL. One of my favourite days of the winter (minus the whole hypothermia part)

Oh, no---I can't find that scene in here----I've looked for half an hour now. Don't want to miss THAT spectacle!! Help! 😱@@riseandalpine
I love to see it!
Thanks for a great video.
Thanks for coming along on the journey!
That was epic. Well done!

Making it happen BC style. Worst winter in decades and the team effort scores a huge W.
*cough 2015 cough*
I was getting a divorce that winter. Must have missed the low tide. 😂
^funniest comment ever 😂😂😂
Probably my favorite video....
Honestly, one of mine too. Such an epic day and love capturing the whole adventure super raw.
Incredible production quality! You keep outdoing yourself! Living the dream! 👍
Thanks Flap! Easy to produce an awesome video with such a gorgeous backdrop (I'm talking about Rob)
😂
But let’s not forget, Rob is more than just a pretty face. He’s a great ski partner for a gonzo skier like you! 🤙
What a Kodak moment! 📸📸📸📸📸

Like your ski resort adventures, but this one was the BEST!!
So glad you enjoyed it! One of my faves ever as well.
That’s a beaut ! So different from a sweltering August hike.😂 Good on you guys for crushing it ! ❄️🤘
I love summer hiking, but something about the snow just makes landscapes look so beautiful
I live in yarrow chilliwack! Manning is one of my favourite mountains to ski other than whistler.
I love Manning so much!

Impressive mission. The North Cascades are a special set of mountains. Only done lines off of US Hwy 20 and every one of them has been amazing.
Would love to check out some of the US Cascade lines. Would ya be interested in touring Rob and I around at some point? I'll bring the sauce!

My other account lol
Great Vid. No one has said yet, but,, 200 percent Beer Over Canadian club.
Beer tastes best after a big day
If I showed this to my dad I guarantee his biggest takeaway would be the importance of base layers.
hahahhaa - I thought you were going to say the end of day beers waiting at the truck
So sick man! Absolutely unreal. I'm moving to Calgary from the UK at the end of this year, hopefully see you on the mountain some time! 🤙
Sick! Calgary rocks man. So much awesome access to a plethora of hills just a few hours drive away. I'm sure we'll run into eachother at some point.

Is it even remotely doable in a big snow year? The lines all the way down to the creek look pretty awesome.

Just got back from 4 days at Whistler. What was the name of that software you were using to check out routes?
That one was OnX. It's really good for USA and just starting to get better in Canada. I also use FatMap as well.
@riseandalpine Thanks, I installed them both. I was in Whistler last week from Monday to Thursday, and it was pretty good. Next trip there is March 11 to 14. Only problem was having December legs in February.

I felt like I watched a movie. That was Epic dude!
Thanks dude!
What do you mean it looks like Alaska ?
The big Frosty looked like a big Alaskan mountain... I guess I could have said it looks like BC LOL. We have big mountains
