Hi Donald, good to see you keeping the drain's flowing like a river .Good video you explained it very well with all the pipe's and showing what does what and where it all goes .Nice video ,good job ....
Never too early to see an eruption full of poop 😂😂 love that I got to see the Verrazano bridge at the end as well! Another Monday means another satisfied customer! Great job my friend 💯💯💪🏽💪🏽
Entertainment and educational ! Howdy Doody had his peanut gallery and you have the corn kernel crew. You're doing a great job! Have a good week Donald.
Another good video, thanks, but I'm always curious: Why not try to clear the trap from the open side before removing the other cap? Seems it might avoid at least some of the gusher the homeowner has to clean up.
Over here in Idaho and other UPC code areas whole house traps are not allowed by code, simply because how often they plug... However they sure would be nice on the cleaning side of things. Cheers from the Idaho plumber
That is why Donald you should have a Milwaukee wet dry vac whether you get the 2 gallon would be great for you or the 6 gallon you don’t have to worry about plugging it in because it’s run off a 18 V battery. It has a HEPA filter also so you will not be getting any of the bad exhaust. Definitely a good thing to have in a situation like that instead of putting your hand down the rat trap you can just vacuum that crap all out as it will be nice and clear because you won’t be able to get it all with your hands but you will be able to get it all with the vacuum! Another great unclog. Interesting that the landlord didn't get that brass cap of the U trap. He got a snake (rental maybe) The fix was relativelu easy.
Hey! Great video bro just out of curiosity in New York do you need to be a license plumber to run the drain machines like here in Ontario we don't so I was just curious if it's the same down there and also if you don't need to be a licensed plumber. Are you a license? Plumber? Just out of curiosity, thanks for the video. Keep it up. Have yourself a great day
Thanks for explaining the way the plumbing is built and which way it goes!😊 I would not want to be the one cleaning up that 💩💩💩💩💩 Great job and video!😊👍💩🔦🧤
House traps are only in much older construction... Not generally used anymore due to all the clogs; now all fixtures have to have their own vented trap.
I always know when there's gonna be roots when thin wisps of smoke start coming out of the pipe. From what I see it doesn't happen all the time. I'm a retired Watchmaker, and the rule is, always pay attention to the small details! Thanks for another great unblock!! ✌️🏳️🌈✌️

I'm wondering the same thing
With the age of that old pipe there's always a chance of a break or leak .thanks again 👍
My thoughts exactly.......... maybe even a small drain eel to just pop a little hole and release the pressure down the drain.
@@NYDRAINS Thanks but that doesn't answer the question, you're snaking the trap anyway.
I sometimes believe best part of your vids is putting new caps on.
😉👍
What is it mostly(in general)? Wipes and pipe scale?
Both really, probably more wipes sometimes.
Good morning Donald great job love how you explained everything keep up the good work love watching your videos on my day off

Thanks for explaining the plumbing up North. Can they replace that trap with a test tee,or is it required by code where you live?
Required code.

At 4:00 mark is there smoke coming out of the pipe? Or toxic gas?
probably condensation due to temperature difference
Or someone was running hot water down a drain in the building

Why has no one replaced the U traps? Do they have to be cast iron?
Pvc ones are made
They can use othe such as pvc. And it's required code.
@@NYDRAINS I see, so I assume the cast iron ones are just original and 100-50 years old?
@@DogStreet pretty much, I guess they replaced some and not all of the pipe because of cost 🤷♂️
