Yes. You can see them around 10:30 min they are named P0-P10. They are defined by their ratios. P4 is the full swing signal with no EQ. Your cursor space might be much larger than the number of preset. They show a table (in the triangular matrix example) with 45 possible coefficient settings; but only the 11 colored presets can be requested by an endpoint... 6/24 by 8/24 indicating their cursor setting/number of steps in the cursor hardware is 24. The table of total possible settings could be much larger if you had more cursor space (lets say 50 instead of 24). In the end you will have to choose some combination of the cursor values to which match the ratios defined by spec and make sure you program your device to return a particular set of coefficients when requested to give some EQ (ex. P4 always returns a full swing signal and P8 always returns a signal which is about 3.5db smaller than P4)

    Hi,
Does dynamic equalization process applies for Gen2 devices as well?
Or is it only Gen3 related process?

Gen 2 doesn't require dynamic equalization. Gen 3 and G4 requires dynamic equalization.

There are other methods to encounter the problem like de-emphasis. But that is not enough for Gen3 and above speeds.
