That's a big B.S., people who know Mexico and live in Mexico know all the exaggerated B.S., the U.S. should be issuing warnings about dangerous U.S. cities not Mexico but there to embarrassed, those incidences are rare, 47 years living in Mexico the first time I have ever heard of this and many women travel to Mexico solo, most of the crime is cartel on cartel, or associates don't get involved, I always go out of the tourist area all the time, nothing happens, I don't know what this situation was, the U.S. news claims was the cartel? not likely, investigating show unlikely the cartel, the cartel just don't murder people, most of incidences I found the suspected reason why and usually it is involved in some criminal activities, like drugs, or cartel stuff, cant say anything about these 3 people, but I know that this is not common, also the U.S. media claimed it was for tires and rims, don't make sense both are still on the truck, and if it was to steal the truck why is the truck still there? the Cartel don't need to steal a vehicle, Cartels are not a bunch of gangbangers, are just the standard criminal and it is complete B.S. the cartels run and control Mexico, a U.S. fairytale and all drug don't come from Mexico, Fentanyl is syntactic, there's many illegal drug labs in the U.S. and the U.S. manufacture Fentanyl for U.S. hospital, who do you think caused the opioid crises in the U.S.?, not Mexico, U.S. dirty doctors and U.S. Pharma

Thanks for posting Oscar. I live about an hour away from Chicago and unfortunately at least one person gets murdered every day there. During the summer it is not unusual to hear of ten or more getting shot and or killed every weekend, especially over holiday weekends. Violent crime has increased significantly there in the last few years. Not to mention other types of crime such as assaults, armed robbery, etc... I almost never go there, when I do it is to an event where there is a lot of security present. I feel safer traveling to Mexico than I do to Chicago or other large American cities because statistically I am safer in Mexico, especially since I spend most of my time in the tourist areas.

What a crock of B.S. ! We’ve lived in Puerto Vallarta 15 years and have visited many of the surrounding areas with absolutely no issues. Don’t wander through rural areas at night, stay far away from the drug trade, don’t stagger around drunk in town and you’re good. Far safer than cities in the U.S., that’s for sure!

My spouse and I have traveled 2 tours around Mexico in an rv. . Down Baja, ferry to los mochis and down Pacific coast into Guatemala. Back to into Cancun and up the middle of Mexico to the usa border. Twice. Also, across the mountians from west coast to the east. Of course you have to be careful and travel smart. But you can't live your life in fear.

Very big news in Australia, of course. Very unfortunate for Mexican tourism, but those of us who are familiar with Mexico know the risky areas and avoid them. Mexico is such a large country and is mostly safe. We have travelled from Australia to Mexico three times (travelling extensively using mostly intercity buses) and have never felt in danger. I have always felt safer in Mexico than the US. Thanks for the update Oscar.

"unfortunate for Mexican tourism" no its not, Mexico is a worldwide destination and Americans who really know Mexico know what's going on, Mexico does not run on tourism, doing Covid, lots of business where shut down, so tourism was down in Mexico, like the U.S., did Mexico dry up and blow away? no it didn't, today in Mexico's case, migration is in reverse and Americans are invading Mexico to live a better economic life

Thank you for addressing this. I love going to Mexico, but know very well to stay away from isolated areas (like I do here, in the U.S.). That's strange becouse that how I feel in the U.S., I find Mexico to be overall safer then the U.S., example: eat at an outside seafood restaurant, there was a shooting, first time in 47 year I heard of that place for a shooting, a man walk up wearing an over coat pulls a Weapon high speeds it out of there and 2 people were killed, does that freak-out, me? NO still eat there, why? becouse I have already figure what that was probably about, most likely drug cartel related, they go after the person, not just shooting the general public, are some nut in a bar for anger, don't get involved in that life, the reason is the person don't just start shooting People, like a random shooter, like gangs in the U.S. or some crazy person killing people for fun, now that is scary to me
