Thank you for sharing...I want to know is there any tropical fruit market close by cruise terminal in peurto vallarta..??
Thank you, good question. I would search on Google maps. There are several markets but not sure on the locations and what they have in stock.
Would you suggest getting pesos or will american dollars work?
American Dollars are fine. You might lose 10-20% in the exchange so not a huge deal on small purchases. Larger items use your credit card if possible or negotiate prices in dollars if that's what you plan to purchase with. Except for restaurants, they usually have a dollar exchange rate posted somewhere in the restaurant.
Great info! Which beach club do you recommend for families? TIA.
Puerto Vallarta doesn't have many beach clubs, the day passes at a resort is your best option. The Marriott Marina is one of our favorite spots to go to with the kids.
Thank you so much for sharing the information. I appreciate you taking the time to make and post this video.I'm getting ready for a 7-day Carnival cruise on Panorama next month. ❤️ I'm not trying to blow my small budget on pricey excursions. 😁 But I would like to do a few things off ship. Maybe check out the beach. ⛱️
Enjoy! We had a fantastic time. And be sure to watch out videos on Cabo and Mazatlan. Have fun!
This is our first time visiting the Mexican Riviera and we have watched your videos multiple times. They are so informative and helpful. You mentioned the Marriott as one of the options for spending the day in Puerto Vallarta. I probably missed the info, but do we book that through Puerto Adventures? Thank you for these fantastic videos!
Marriott, you can usually use ResortPass.com or ResortForADay.com However if you call the Marriott directly you can usually book directly through the hotel and save some money.
We will be cruising in a few weeks. How much do you suggest we bring to have enough fir Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, and Mazatlan? We would be buying plenty of beverages 😉, eating seafood and getting some souvenirs
That's a tough question because everyone has a different budget. We definitely like to spend money and enjoy ourselves. As for cash we usually have $1,000 in cash for a 7 day, 3 port cruise and use our credit card as much as we can and will take about $200-300 in cash with us for each port. Most places will always take our credit card but for small purchases it's easier just to use cash. But our budget could be totally different from what works for you or another family.
Good tips; on RCCL Navigator, went walking on Malecón and had to hit the Devils Bar - ASU Sun Devils. Friendly place and the Pat Tillman jersey on the ceiling is pretty special.
You are a veteran cruiser and call the ship a boat?
Sometimes just to see what happens. 😜👍
We just ran into the time zone issue when we saw a snorkeling tour time wasn’t gonna be back before the boat left, but turns out it will be earlier than needed. Great tip
Do you need car seat for the kids when taking a taxi or Uber ?
No but that comes down to your personal preference. We don't typically travel with one but others do. Most places we have been in the world don't require them. In Mexico we have never had an issue. In Europe we had someone ask us to sit them on our lap with the seat belt around both of us, we usually do this anyways.
Hi, which cruise ship do you think is the best and which website is best to buy it? For mexico, i am thinking cabo, puerto Vallarta and nearby places in end of july or early august. Is it good time to be there? I know it will be hot and humid. Pls advice
Carnival just introduced the new rebranded ship, the Firenze, it looks great, similar to the Panorama but i really like the decor from what I'm seeing. For Norwegian Cruise Lines, the Bliss is a really nice ship. We like that and after that I'd probably suggest the Carnival Panorama.
@AlexErika when is the best time go there?
@@AlexErika thanks for the information
@@aariel1234 you're welcome. 👍
@aariel1234 June through October is really nice and it's hot. Personally we really like early June or late September / October since there tends to be fewer kids.
Is it better to do the whale watching in PV or at Cabo?
That's tough, I've heard great things about both locations regarding whale watching. Personally we have seen whales on several occasions in Puerto Vallarta but I think it's best to talk to the tour guides because the migration patterns are important.
Great video! We are going to Puerto Vallarta for the first time in a couple of weeks on a Disney cruise. We are only there from 12p-6p though. Which beach would be your favorite/most beautiful to hang out at for a few hours?
Sorry for the late response. Playa De Los Muertos is a good option.
New subscriber! You are very informative and I learned a lot!! Planning our first Mexican Riviera cruise (have done several other cruises), so I am really happy to have found your channel. Thanks for sharing so many details, it has been extremely helpful. Off to watch other videos of yours.
Glad it was helpful! Welcome aboard!
Hi Alex love your videos. Going on my first cruise in February, do you suggest using taxis or Ubers? Also thinking of taking a city tour with a local taxi, also pay in pesos? Gracias
In Puerto Vallarta Uber is available and easily accessible. Same with Cabo. Mazatlan is hit and miss but everything I'm Mazatlan is pretty close so we use whatever is faster. If we do a city tour with a local taxi we usually pay with cash. (Pesos)
Lately the exchange rates at ATMs have not been great. I've changed my position on how I typically get cash. Now I try to use my credit card as much as possible and take cash to exchange at specific currency exchange locations. They have been giving much better exchange rates in recent years.
It's frustrating because it seems like balls have caught on to another way to screw everyone for a few more dollars. We are currently in Puebla Mexico and I pulled cash from the ATM with a 15.78 exchange rate when it should have been closer.to 17.5. with the additional fees, it probably cost me an extra 10-15% in fees and poor exchange rates.
I am going on a cruise in May 2024 we are doing the Rhythms of the night tour. My question is do we have time to go out on the island and see things and be back to the ship on time for the tour. I would hate to stay on ship and miss an island that I have never been too. What some things that we could do before Thank you so much and I love your video.
Are you referring to Puerto Vallarta as the island? The Rhythems tour leaves later in the day so you have at least 5-6 hours to check out Puerto Vallarta which is nice.
Which one of two beach excursions have the shortest boat ride? Small boats make sea sick way easier. Thanks Alex!
Las Caletas and Majahuitas are the two main beaches that most excursions on a boat will go to. They are almost next to each other so the boat ride is only a few minutes different. Las Caletas is the closest one but probably only by half a mile.
Hi! I just found your channel and have been watching all your videos. I am curious if there is a place to find the age restrictions for the activities at Las Caletas. I looked and am only finding a height of 3.75'. Do you happen to remember age restrictions as well? Thanks for all the info!
Did you check on the Vallarta Adventures website? Here is the link for Las Caletas.
www.vallarta-adventures.com/en/tour/caletas-beach-hideaway
Thanks for the video
We are on the panorama in august
And are going to the Westin with resortpass
How are the beaches there?
For Puerto Vallarta? The beaches for all 3 ports are nothing like the Caribbean but they are nice. We always enjoy them.
I'm thinking the same idea. I'll be on panorama in Aug. as well. Planning for a day pass on the 23rd
9:42 "I love being the single guy" he does not love being the single guy. probably wants your girl. stay woke my guy
Ha Ha 🤣
thanks for information looking at taking cruise to the area
Excellent extra advice! Thx! Will be there in October, 2022, and utilizing a lot of your suggestions.
Glad to hear it was helpful. Enjoy!
How far is the Westin resort from the ports? Thank you for the video. It gave me a lot of information and ideas for the family. Thank you in advance 👍
I would say it's a solid 20 minute walk and a 4-5 minute drive. If you Google map Westin Marina Puerto Vallarta you will see the one I am referring to. The Marriott is about 5-8 minutes further walking.
Hi Alex! Glad your doing videos again!!!
Never see too many people actually in the ocean swimming. Are there safety concerns?
No safety concerns, it's just not as clear as some beaches in the area. This beach is nice but the water in this particular area is never super clear.
Thank you so much for this video! Very helpful!
You're welcome. Glad you found them helpful. 👍
Thank you so much
Thanks again for great info. I have a question… if we go to beach, like Muertos, are there bathrooms? I’m thinking especially about my kids 😊
Public Bathrooms, nothing I have used or would want to use. But every restaurant will let you use their restroom if you buy a soda or something. That's why we usually pick a bar along the beach, so we can use their facilities and buy a few drinks, appetizers, etc. Then we have a spot for the kids to change, etc.
@@AlexErika great advice! Thanks
Great video with good info! We are going in September. Your stops don't help us too much since we are not alcoholics like you guys LOL (just teasing). Thinking of Marriott day pass and parasailing at the moment. Off to watch your other videos.
You should really venture into the Romantic Zone of Puerto Vallarta to really get a feel for all we have to offer.
Yeah, we love the early evening walk along the malecon. Drinking or not drinking it is a fantastic afternoon walk.
I was there during Spring break with the family and ran into your nephews at Sapphire beach club. Told them I was there because of this video. Cheers!
That's such a small world. Nice. Hope you had a great time.
@@AlexErika We did! Unfortunately, we didn't make it to 8 Tostatos but next time.
I've never heard a person's lips part so loudly. 😂😂😂 Thanks for the informational video. Really helpful!
Thanks for viewing. That's a new comment for us. Not sure if it's a compliment or not but thank you. 😜
@@AlexErika lol it's a really goofy comment. I would not take it to heart.
Wonderful stuff Alex, you did an amazing job at this.
Thank you Ashley. Miss you, hope to catch up with you on another cruise down the road. ❤️😉👍
I prefer to do a shore excursions though the cruise lines when visiting this port.
That's a good option and a safe bet.
About to go on my first cruis in April ! Thanks for all the info
You're welcome. Glad it was helpful, enjoy and have a fantastic time.
Thanks for the info, going in a couple weeks and wondering what to do in PV. Also, will be seeing Lenny on the ship (I love him!).
Super jealous Lenny will be cruising with you guys. Tell Lenny we said HI!
There is a solid contact / tour guide I can recommend but Puerto Vallarta is really easy to do on your own. A tour guide is really only needed if you want to get outside the city to the jungle or remote beaches.
@@AlexErika Pretty sure just want to do the boat tour, beach (The Office?) and check out Cabo Wabo. Do you remember your guides name? I'll look for him/them.
If you are on Facebook join this group we have. We have a lot of good information in this group and various contacts. It's called,
Mexican Riviera Cruise Info (Cabo, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, La Paz)
@@AlexErika Thanks, will do!
Her efforts licking the shell at 8 tostados ….
My group was thinking about booking a excursion with the company you named and it was the city, beach and taqulia tour have you done it and what did you think? Do you also know exactly where they take us ? Lol
I don't know where they will take you because it changes from time to time but I'm certain you will enjoy it. We did one a few years ago and it was great. Most of the time the beach you go to is Los Muertos Beach. That's a fun spot. The tequila and restaurants change depending on what's new and what is more popular.
@@AlexErika thank you! I have never been on a cruise and we are going in June so looking for all the info I can get on each port and ideas!! your videos are helpful so thank you!😊
Actually the name of the group is sea vallarta have you done a tour with them before?
@@aliciakoski4026 we have not but if they have decent reviews on Trip Advisor I think you will enjoy. Trip Advisor is a good place to check reviews.
can you walk to the melecon from the port
Walking would probably be over an hour. I would definitely take an Uber which should be less than $10. The city bus runs up and down the main drag outside of the cruise ship terminal. That would be an option and it's only about 10 pesos to ride the bus.
Great info, Alex! Thank you 😊
You're welcome. Glad it's useful for you.
Hi, I have been to Los Caletas and We loved it! Can I book this on my own or do I need to book with Carnival?
Any help would be appreciated!
As I mentioned in the video you can book on your own.
@@AlexErika I did go on Adventures website however there is only one start time. 8:30 am our itinerary shows 9:00am. 😞 would you know if that's with or without time change?
@@annettegrimes2931 usually they plan for the cruise ship. Call or message them. If they know you're on the cruise ship they will wait. Also when it says 9:30, they usually depart around 10:30.
@@AlexErika thank you so much for your help! Love your content!
Great information! Thanks
You're welcome. Hope it was helpful. 👍
Love this video Alex!!! So cool
Thank you Sarah 😊 Appreciate it.
Any recommendations for snorkeling at puerto vallarta or cabo?
Cabo out by the arch is the best option for snorkeling. A lot of fish to be seen out there. For Puerto Vallarta you have to take an excursion 30-45 minutes out and the snorkeling is ok, not as good as Cabo in my opinion. Snorkeling in Cabo is best, inexpensive and easy.
Hi, great video. If the ships itinerary says arrival 9am is that 10am Puerto Vallarta time? Trying to book an excursion and the meet time is 9:30am on the Vallarta adventures website. Thanks for the help
Usually there is an hour difference but it depends on the time of the year. If you use Vallarta Adventures tell them you are arriving via the cruise ship. They plan for it because they have a lot of cruise passengers who book directly through them outside of the cruise line.
