It’s nice & interesting, but much better beaches south. Mismaloya is too crowed . Too many boats in harbor , gas & oil in water . Yuck . Also many questionable restaurants , meaning billing errors and taking advantage of tourists . Services & food are average at best . And definitely need better bathroom facilities. Even an American style portable potty wb better . I know “ it’s Mexico, but still … if you’re catering to tourists.

I really miss Puerto Vallarta, I've been there times and always stay at a beach front hotel in Zona Romantica close to the peir. I even hired you the last time I was there for a tour. I haven't been there the last two years but I always folliw you and watch all your videos. Hopefully I'll be back and can hire you again.

I really enjoyed this video. I stayed in hotel Playa Los Arcos recently and recognize many of the restaurants and bars in this video. I love this part of town and thanks for the memories.

We stayed in Versalles. Love it restaurants mom pop markets. Five minutes walk to beach. We taxi to the zone romantica 😊

I have been living in Mexico for 7 years. PV is a tourist trap with ugly beaches and drunk embarrassing gringos everywhere. The weather is too hot and humid. There is nothing cultural or historical to see that isn’t set up as a tourist trap. But it’s really the disgusting drunk gringos that ruin it for everyone.

The gentrification is very bad here. The Mexican people needs what’s rightfully theres and not exploited by Canadian and American entities. It’s very sad, there is a resentment and animosity towards the tourists and I cannot blame the cultural natives for such things. People are made homeless and forced to moved outside thier native community. Money and greed has commercialised PV and has lost its culture. When walking past today I heard a Canadian bragging they are making the biggest project in a long time. Total disrespect to the natives. My heart goes out to the families losing out.

I have a question is 6,000 pesos good enough for spending cash like souvenirs and maybe a few groceries solo 9 day stay? This excludes resort and excursions.

Expedia has airport pickup to and from hotel is this legit?

We often stay in Zona Romantica and love it there. This coming year we might locate there. We love the Zona Romantica, but we are further inland from the Malecon, so i'ts not noisy there, but inside the condos or apts. it's not noisy, because the buildings are constructed out of cement and rebar - if they have a block party you cannot hardly hear anytihng inside the buildings. Given we travel with our two dogs, we'll likely be looking for a house with a patio in a nearby Colonia. Thank you Oscar for your videos!!!!

You’re right, it’s an excellent area to stay. Tomorrow we’re staying at Canto de Plaza for 10 days. We were at the Pelicanos resort last year also in December (you walked in front of both of them when you were on the beach).

Views aside, I think I might skip this eatery because I have had truly authentic guacamole when I lived in Guadalajara in college - with a wonderful family in sector Juarez - and my senora made the ULTIMATE guacamole fresh every day for her live-in students (and her family of course 🙂). Also the family took us to many locally owned restaurants for meals in which we always started with guacamole freshly made tableside, and some of the best homemade salsas ever plus still warm hand-made corn tortillas for us to roll up and dip ! I love the crispy ones too of course. Therefore ! Where might we find the most authentic family-owned restaurant in PV that serves my 3 favorite things I had while in Guadalajara soooooooooooo long ago 🙂:1 freshly made guacamole, and all the fixings; 2. Mole: my senora made us Mole on Sundays -- a. dark, rich mole poblano style - served with boneless chunks of turkey or chicken breast YUM! So a recommendation for a good mole ? 3. Bolillos. Those were a daily breakfast of champions for me LOL - our senora would go to the nearby panaderia and load up a tray of out-of-the-oven bolillos with crispy crusts and soft centers of heaven, then store them in a stone hot-pot on the table with crocks of sweet butter - and it was difficult to leave for school with those within reach, typically eaten with huevos y hamon and fresh squeezed juices. So the best Bolllos found in a restaurant would be fantastic !!! We do love our seafood too, I watched your recommended restaurant in PV for fresh seafood, however my preference is for grilled seafood, especially a halibut-like white fish of any local to your waters seafood as I am allergic to shellfish, and squid I can get all the time in the area where we live - Monterey, CA. Your video is excellent ! Thank you so much ! I can tell PV proper is more our style, and even more so, the farthest south location with all that lushness and gorgeous smaller-scale beaches that are so serene looking (in and around Playa Colomitos) and vicinity.. Thus can you recommend some beachfront hotels, cottages and Inns in that area specifically ? You would be a GREAT tour guide too, as you are so friendly and have a wealth of knowledge !!! Cheers to you and here's hoping we someday meet on our trip to PV !!! marcia

Rent control. Also I would make it a law 25% of all housing in a condo complex must be at a rate the locals can afford in the same building. Mexico would not be the same without locals in the neighborhoods .

Aside from all the other cliche tourist videos that everyone repeatedly make, this special video makes the hope for me to live in PV very realistic! The neighborhood oozes with authenticity. Looking forward to leaving the US one day and coming down to PV. Love to see more of those for us who want to live in PV but can’t afford Centro or RZ. Thank you again !

I went to Molcajete’s once after moving here. Ordered a molcajete. They said they couldn’t make molcajete because they were too busy. Wound up with really bad tacos. Never going back. It’s literally called Molcajete and they wouldn’t make me one 🙄
