I sincerely hope Polyphony Digital have GT7 in production currently so they don't make that mistake again. A well crafted GT game for the PS5 has huge potential.
Gran Turismo 6 was a major improvement over Gran Turismo 5. Gran Turismo 2, 3 and 4 had the best rally engine. The rally in 5 and 6 felt too stiff. My personal favourite is Gran Turismo 4.
one complaint i have about these games, which is exemplified perfectly at 5:59 That car is going 200km/h, but it looks like its going more like 110. Just the overall sense of speed (camera shaking, environment flyby/blurring, etc) is really low
4:07 Kazunori Himself said (In an interview) That people can call GT Sport as GT7, because from GT1 - GT6 it's Generation 1 of Gran Turismo franchise, and From Sport and so on is the Next Generation GT... And it might be like this: GT Sport, GT Sport 2, GT Sport 3 or might be different names.
Looking back on this it was funny you mentioning the Microtransactions. They must of fixed that, cus on launch there was an outrageous amount of cars you could only get via the cash shop. I had to pay to buy an old beetle, which was kinda ridiculous. Overall its not a bad game though, it just launched at a bad time, when everyone was getting a Ps4. Honestly they shoulda waited and polished the game more and had it come out on he Ps4, it would of done much better.
While I don't particularly agree with your ranking of the GT series (which is understandable and personal), I do see GT6 as an improvement over 5 in almost everything, although, GT5 with the master mod is probably the single game with the most content available since they added a lot of tracks from the PS2 games to it, event editor, LAN multiplayer capabilities (which means playing online using xlink kai), etc.
I’m sure someone’s said this but the reason Sony doesn’t put the first gran turismos on the ps store is because they would have to continuously renew the license to use these cars . Considering most ps1 classics on ps store are like 5-10 dollars (usually 5) they would probably see little if any return. Also having the old ones available could cause some people to buy the cheaper gran turismos compared to the newer ones; thus lowering profits and sales for the newest entry.
Wonderful review! As always I really like your reviews but I can see this is a bit more special. You analysed the whole game as never before (actually It's a longer review) and went back to the beginning of the saga. Thanks for this review. Who knows when a new Gran Turismo will come out... (as you said "Sport" does not count).

How dare you think the ost of gt6 is terrible, the music when a race load always gets me pumped for a race, especially th national a load music and super races ones
There are pros and cons on both 5 and 6. Imo 5 edges out 6 overall with career mode and pit animations. Racing is just better on 5 and that includes 7!!!!!!!!
4.09 watching this after GT7 has been released, it has become some what of a shitshow after recent updates, 1.07 and 1.08, RIP. won't be going back to it until its sorted...
I don't know how you can call yourself a GT fan and celebrate the dumbing down of the licence tests. Qualifying was present in GT3 and 4 btw, can't recall if it was championship races only or not. Also, GT1-3 were surpassed pretty quickly: GT4 is incontrovertibly the best in the series. I wouldn't hold my breath for any of the older titles being re-released for a long time, as there is a whole web of licenses which would most likely have to be renegotiated, which is unlikely to be economical for such a project.
To be honest, I agree and disagree. Yes license tests are a staple, but they shouldn't be a requirement an able to get cars and tracks just to enjoy the game!
@@Catcrumbs i know im late but how tf 8 licenses is similar to 16, but who cares its just game, we should just enjoy the games we love to play lmao, hope they bring back the severs for gt6 tho, i had so many memories there
This was an overall great, great game. the only bad point i have to take from this is the lack of European sports cars like they had on gran turismo 2 like the Citroen Saxo Cup (VTS),Punto GT,opel corsa B 16v Gsi and many others.
I never played any gran turismo, do you guys think i should try gran turismo 6 first or just jump straight into gran turismo sport? Because i haerd that gt sport is really bad compared to gt6
The bad: AI, collisions, sound on a lot of cars The good: So many cars, the handling, graphics. With the 'all cars+50 million credits cheat', this game is a lot of fun...trying out all the cars on every circuit.
you should've talked about the DREADFUL final super license test, i hate it so much that it made me break my controller's l2 because its crucial to get a perfect time, no margin of error at all
I wish this game was re-released on PS4 so that people would actually buy it! I just hope they don't make the same mistake with 7, by releasing it on PS4 around the time of the PS5's launch! As for Sport, I kind of felt the A.I. was too unbalanced and the difficulty setting only effected the driving assists, which was a stupid decision given that the other drivers can go faster than you can!
My little brother (who is a bigger gt fan than me) acutally wants the aggressive AI from the older GT games back since GT 6 has gotten kinda easy for him.
i found gran turismo 1 and 2 the most fun driving because they werent that simulation-ish and i would always drift around corners with the 67 corvette and the viper
You just revitalized my hunger to play this game. I prefer do prefer 3 and 4, but I bought this game after I got my PS4 because I found such a great deal on the Force Feedback for PS3/PS2. Time to dust off the wheel.
I like this game however. I'm happy that they released GT6 before jumping straight to PS4. At least something than nothing, especially when multiplayer in PS3 is for free. I like PS3 more than PS4.
I wanted to drive the Savanna RX-7 FC that Ryosuke had in Initial D in this game, only to find out that it was a standard car with a blacked out interior and couldn't be equiped with a standard carbon fibre hood. :(
It may not be exactly close, but there is a premium FC in GT6 - and I also have one done out like Ryosuke's (the look pre Fifth Stage though), hehe. Shame the servers have been shut down by now though, although it's still fun to play from time to time with a friend.
nissansilviakouki Circuito de la Sierra and Nürburg Nordschleiff are my favourite tracks. I wish they could all be as long as that. Well most, because perhaps people don't like to drive for as long as that. Like they don't like tuning cars. I meant it sarcastically, but then again the tuning aspect in GT Sport IS dumbed down a bit.
Now, I thought GT6 was visually poor compared to GT5. GT6 framerate was worse, it had screen tearing and for some strange reason the textures on trees were poor, so I preferred GT5. What I liked most about GT6 was the track creator, now sadly unusable :(
Well for once the oversteering is much more predictable and the car suspension is more pronounced and fluid making weight transfer easier and the tires actually flex in cornering. Its still no where Assetto Corsa levels yet but its a good driving model.
You mean the driving is less drift mode than before. The driving physics still does not feel realistic compared to other cars like Forza 7. I never think GT is a real simulator it's more like a Minecraft for racing, you tune and race the car. The car physics still feel too floaty compare to real driving. My biggest complaint is the cars all under or oversteer too much even under 70mph. I drive everyday and my real car doesn't understeer like the cars do in GT series.

Hopefully that won't be case. GT Sport seems more like an ESports spinofd than anything.
For me Gran Turismo 6 is my 2nd best Gran Turismo game.
4 is my first,idk I feel like it’s a good all rounder
This review is awesome it’s tells all I need to know and is what pushed me to buy it and holy shit I’m never gonna regret it
Wonderful review! As always I really like your reviews but I can see this is a bit more special. You analysed the whole game as never before (actually It's a longer review) and went back to the beginning of the saga. Thanks for this review. Who knows when a new Gran Turismo will come out... (as you said "Sport" does not count).
cerveraoliver How does it not count? Kaz himself said that Sport is the new main series game.
Gt5 actually has updated gt6 features, like the standard interior view.
This music is like a big part of my memories as a kid on my little 10 inch TV...good times.
How dare you think the ost of gt6 is terrible, the music when a race load always gets me pumped for a race, especially th national a load music and super races ones
I wish the GT6 seasonal events were still going on.
Well... They definitely aren't the best physics I've seen in a racing game, but they are better the 5's.
"Who knows what GT7 Will look like? And no, i dont mean Sport"
Tbh it is like Sport, at least on ps4
This one flew under the radar because players were fatigued with the disappointments of 5. I know I enjoyed 5 the least but loved 6!
Yeah I thought Gran Turismo 5 was horrible. It was sooooo Grindy.
This review is great. I`ve watched this video like one hundred times.
Yes license tests are a staple, but they shouldn't be a requirement an able to get cars and tracks just to enjoy the game!
lmao i actually prefer gt3 to gt4, so.....
im not a gran turismo fan?? and yes i also prefer 6 to 5 so call me a crazy person if you will
@@stepladder3257 Nope, that's not what I said. Licence tests were at a similar level in both 3 and 4.
@@Catcrumbs i know im late but how tf 8 licenses is similar to 16, but who cares its just game, we should just enjoy the games we love to play lmao, hope they bring back the severs for gt6 tho, i had so many memories there
Bro this game is my childhood 11/10 would play again.
I kind of liked GT6, but no endurance racing was such a bummer, I really liked that in the previous ones.
When are you reviewing gt sport
yeah when is he
when?!
I noticed some of the tiny things like the missing sun glares with an ambient crowd in the back ground on Twin Motorgei
Fun fact about me!
I played Gran Turismo 6 a year before when Gran Turismo Sport was released.
🤩
This was an overall great, great game. the only bad point i have to take from this is the lack of European sports cars like they had on gran turismo 2 like the Citroen Saxo Cup (VTS),Punto GT,opel corsa B 16v Gsi and many others.
I heard the servers are off at end of march of this year. Been doing some online play recently again. Ps3 online, so much cheaper
Emppu T. I'll put my PS4 and Gt sport aside to enjoy the last month of gt6
nissansilviakouki i should do last evens oo
Emppu T. Yes, I'll leave a 20 million reserve money to buy cars if I need to in the future
I still play this as of December 20, 2019
It did 20,000 in 10mnths with a full time job✊🏾 I just satisfies my driving fix
My whole save file got corrupted for gt6
@@patrollingthemojavemakesyo5948 mine too after 90hrs of gameplay
@@MrCalverino I had bought all the tomahawks and the lamborghinis and every premium gt r
@@patrollingthemojavemakesyo5948 daaaamnn 😅 Yea man it was super painful for me so I never connect to the internet
I never played any gran turismo, do you guys think i should try gran turismo 6 first or just jump straight into gran turismo sport? Because i haerd that gt sport is really bad compared to gt6
review NFS most wanted 2005
And Carbon
He did
The bad: AI, collisions, sound on a lot of cars
The good: So many cars, the handling, graphics.
This is undoubtedly, the greatest GT out there
GT4 had some strong points too
*love the driving in gt6 but gt4 is king imo.*
What... After all the updates??
My little brother (who is a bigger gt fan than me) acutally wants the aggressive AI from the older GT games back since GT 6 has gotten kinda easy for him.
Honestly idc what people say about this game this was my second fav gt just right behind gt 3
Do a Review of Gran Turismo Sport
11:38 I'm sorry, but ask rynogt4... he complete GT5 in a 1.5 years... but 6, Just couple of months.
I mean, GT5 is about 5x harder than 6.
Because he took long breaks between Gt5 videos, especially the endurance events, and played B spec.
@@mottdropsie you don't even play in b-spec lol
i found gran turismo 1 and 2 the most fun driving because they werent that simulation-ish and i would always drift around corners with the 67 corvette and the viper
You just revitalized my hunger to play this game. I prefer do prefer 3 and 4, but I bought this game after I got my PS4 because I found such a great deal on the Force Feedback for PS3/PS2. Time to dust off the wheel.
I actually can't wait for you to do GT7!
This was my first Gran Turismo game and it got me into cars really fast! And it got me into the franchise. Thanks GT6 ❤
I like this game however. I'm happy that they released GT6 before jumping straight to PS4. At least something than nothing, especially when multiplayer in PS3 is for free. I like PS3 more than PS4.
Gran Turismo is in dire need of a comeback.
Gran Turismo Sport?
I wanted to drive the Savanna RX-7 FC that Ryosuke had in Initial D in this game, only to find out that it was a standard car with a blacked out interior and couldn't be equiped with a standard carbon fibre hood. :(
It may not be exactly close, but there is a premium FC in GT6 - and I also have one done out like Ryosuke's (the look pre Fifth Stage though), hehe.
Shame the servers have been shut down by now though, although it's still fun to play from time to time with a friend.
I miss Sierra track in GT sport, my fav track on gt6
nissansilviakouki Circuito de la Sierra and Nürburg Nordschleiff are my favourite tracks. I wish they could all be as long as that. Well most, because perhaps people don't like to drive for as long as that. Like they don't like tuning cars. I meant it sarcastically, but then again the tuning aspect in GT Sport IS dumbed down a bit.
I miss it to,but the rendering of the track is inconsistent as hell.
Your reviews are on point. Subbed.
0:38 How can a driving force pro come bundled with gt6? It can't. Couldn't you find a picture of the steering wheel you actually got
3:20 This game most certainly did *not* run at 60 fps. It (sadly) suffered from stutter and screen tearing since launch.
Yeah, though ot was pretty minor (the screen tearing is mostly obly really noticable in the Eiger mountain tracks)
I think the updated intro was 60 fps but nothing else was
Now, I thought GT6 was visually poor compared to GT5. GT6 framerate was worse, it had screen tearing and for some strange reason the textures on trees were poor, so I preferred GT5. What I liked most about GT6 was the track creator, now sadly unusable :(
The GT6 track editor is usable again, thanks to a revived Discord community server
GT7 now on the line m8!
the driving physics have been tweaked and improved from 5
alex guzman on which bases/technical data you say it?
@@Vision33r how does forza 7 feel realistic it's an arcade title, Granturismo is more like a simcade so it has better physics compared to forza
So when will the GT Sport review come out...
1:12 - 1:28 I just recently bought this game’s predecessor, GT5, for me PS3 Slim. XL Edition. Physical copy. Should I go the XMB and manually install one update at a time? Or does it work differently? Help wanted please.
I bought GT6 for £10 and it was definitely worth it. Although the online servers are shut down, I don’t care about that at all.
