She committed suicide in 1974. There was an incident held while shooting Punnapuram
Kotta’s song shooting scenes. She was taking a bath in the water fall. She was accidentally get naked by herself. Her upper cloth get off by the force of the flowing water by that stream. The camera was on & it captured all including the nude scenes. It was U certified cinema however the makers of that cinema included it to make more appealing without that actress consent. The cinema doesn’t contain the whole nude scenes yet it included to make that bath scene naturally hotter than as it should be & made it U/A certified style or nearly an adult only kind of cinema. It was known as Udhya Studio behind trapped her in an unparliamentary fashion & It turn to be a chartbuster because of those scenes. The disastrous thing is the makers of this movie was Udhaya Studio & they were apparently controlling the industry &! this actress could not fight against such powerful giants of that time. It is known as she was even blackmailed by them by saying edited & cropped full nude scenes will have included in some other movies & that break this actress down in a drastic way. She might have fall in depression and trauma situation & eventually edee up her life to get rid out of this crisis. It is n known as Udhaya studio & those film makers acts & deed literally killed a beautiful & gorgeous at her very young age. Management of Udhaya studio didn’t killed her yet they generate a ill fated situation that triggered Vijayasree to commit suicide 😭It is heard that she was just 19 ( not sure ) She was on a top noch position at that time & it was a shocking news at that time for sure. It is said that the curse of Vijyasree & few other artists sealed the future Undhaya studio forever; no come back. Studios like Maryland & many other still exists in this time either however a prime Udhaya ended up with bankruptcy. May the curse story be true … Vijyasree belong to somewhere in Thiruvanadapuram; born in a middle class orthodox Muslim family. According to 60s socio culture & social norms this kind situation can break any girls life. It is not at a same as what we see today. No chance to get it viral instead it create ill-fated image to that actress , family as well as society. This social fear may lead this actress break down & trauma & May lead to take a decision to take her life by herself to escape these situations. This can be one of the first incident in Malayalam cinema field to show as s case study of The Dark Side of Limelight. ( all information brought out here is what I heard about this actress; no material evidence can be furnished. You may take it as my personal opinion ) 🙏

Sathyanesan Nadar to became Sathyan Poovathingal Abdul Khader to became Prem Nazeer, Krishnan Nair to became Jayan, Clara to become Sheela & many more. It happens in North India either. WWF superstars use ring name different than their official name. Even today their height & weight is billed differently ! When it comes to Vijaya Sree it may be social life belongs to Kerala have some indirect roles to forced her to change her name. Furthermore on those days theatre artist are almost known their names in a different style & that is how there had been known & famous for. It was kind of trend at that time. In order to compete with that kind of name she may had changed her name for cinema. I even heard Madhubala ( 60s mesmerising beauty ) was even changed her name as if her orthodox family was not proud of her career in cinema industry as if she acted in movies !
