The way you arranged this song shows that you are a genius, dear Sandra. I really like the way you arranged phrases three and four. I particularly liked your reaction when you almost lost your pick, between 8:10 and 8:20. Your smile and laughter are so special. Keep swinging and smiling, sweet lady.
Sandra, great as always. I just discovered that when you demonstrate all string positions in each chord, it makes it easier than visualization of your left hand position...at least for me.
these videos are great. really gotta say. ive watched a ton of these and yours are a bit more useful and practical than many. gathering the materials and selling for a low price is a smart decision as well. you deserve to be compensated and the low price makes it accessible to most. thanks and i hope you keep making these.
Thanks so much Sandra, just download after you’ve gone ,was pleased you included chord boxes.have learned your Nuages video to, you do a great tutorial as you say slow & easy. Would love you to do djangos castle, would pay five times the amount for the Gypsy tutorials.
I include them now whenever the number of pages are 2 or 3 without the boxes. Bc after adding the chord boxes the page number doubles and it starts getting really uncomfortable to read through the tune.
Awesome cover of a great tune, Sandra! And... there are those “cat-like” reflexes on that Bb9😸 - good catch! Maybe that explains how you get around so fast on the fretboard?!
Another amazing FREE lesson! Thank you so much for your taking time to explain everything, I truly do appreciate it. Have you ever considered making a chord melody for "Spartacus Love Theme"? Again thanks, and I'm looking forward for your Christmas song in time for me to learn it before the big day. God bless from Texas!
The song is a film score from the 1960 movie "Spartacus", and covered by many jazz musicians. Bill Evans has a great version. Thanks again! Looking forward to it!
Another really great, clear and understandable lesson, thanks. Do you have anything on right hand technique for this melody chord style of playing, that is where I'm struggling a bit.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman Thanks, I will take a look. I am familiar with hybrid picking as I play a lot of country, but that is a rather different style from your gypsy jazz style.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman Na Klar! Ich habe übrigens ein paar Song Ideen (wieder einmal) "Ain't She Sweet" von Lou Gold and his Melody Men, "Whispering While you cuddle near me" oder "Baltimore Oriole" von Hoagy Carmichael. Und vielleicht "Chattanooga Choo Choo" von Glenn Miller.

Sandra I’ve spent 1 month learning ‘After you’ve gone’ ,still can’t play at speed but know 20 bars.Is this normal or am I just SLOW ? Richard from Devon.
It depends. If you don't know the basix jazz chords and the Tension chords, it will take you much longer, becaus you don't really know what you're doing. If you do know these chords it's much easier. But there is also a technical side to it. Try playing one chord change to the next (only one or two bars), but at regular tempo. If you can't do that, you have to work on your technique.
It’s a very nice version you’re teaching, but i’m sorry to say that the key is B flat, not E flat !!! The thing is : it starts on the fourth degree (subdom)
Jazz Chord Melody IS complex. Are you familiar with the jazz comping chords? They're a must-know for playing chord melody. Please check out my 7th chords lesson and my Tension Chords lesson. If you know what you're doing, chord melody becomes a little easier. But yes, it is hard. This song and this arrrangement I did is quiet easy thoug for a jazzer.

Yes...very nice! I love this Jazz standard. This is a very good lesson. Thank you kindly Sandra!
I heard it first as a Gypsy version. It's such a lovely swinging tune.
I love this song! Precisely instructed by my favorite teacher.
Sandra, these jazz standard lessons are the most clear and straightforward I’ve seen on line, you are doing a really good job.
Thanks so much, Gus! So glad you enjoy my tutorials. Keep swinging 🎶 🎸

Oh, thank you for this great compliment! ❤️
One of my favourite melodies and as always very well played. Thank you very much Sandra.
Glad, it's something for you, Salvadore. I was just told this song is over 100 years old!
Sandra, great as always. I just discovered that when you demonstrate all string positions in each chord, it makes it easier than visualization of your left hand position...at least for me.
This must be one of the oldest jazz-standards, as it was composed in 1918. Very good tutorial.
Oh, I didn't know that. I knew it was old, though. There is a version from an old Schellack on YT somewhere from the 20s. Wow, that's 100 years ago!
Tnank you very much Sandra, I loved very much this music and you help very much.

What you mean by "cat-like reflexes", Barry?
Guitarversum Sandra Sherman hehe - very fast reflex when you dropped, and caught, the pick on that Bb9 chord... fast reaction - like a cat! Hehe😂
Ah yeah, forgot in which video that was. Yeah, I'm really proud of that catch 😂

I habe a video on hybrid picking, if that's what you mean. Just type it in the yt search box and add guitarversum to find the video. Hope it helps!

Hey Sandra! Thank you for all your tabs.
Would it be possible to add pdf with only the back track chords?
If so, I'm ready to buy them all!
Thank you for your kind words. The regular chords can be found in every real book. Even if I used a substitution it will still fit.

That phrase 4 is brutal for a mere mortal such as myself.
Break it up into smaller pieces and just practice one chord change to the next. Hold fast, you can do it!
Sandra, why is the key Eb and not Bb, because of starting with IV and IVm ?
I think that's amistake. It is in Bb. In my shop I listed it as Bb. I think I just got it wrong in the video. Sorry.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman no problem, my question and your answer have cleared up this topic for me;-)
