The Christmas Song ( Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire ) is one of the loveliest christmas songs in the jazz genre. I asked you guys in a survey, which christmas song guitar tutorial you's like me to do this video, and you voted for Chestnuts Roasting On An Open fire Nat King Cole version.
Your wish is my command, so here it is.
I'll show you the Christmas Song guitar chords notet for note, slow and easy. There are plenty of really beautifull jazz guitar chords in my arrangement. I've made an intermediate level Christmas Song guitar fingerstyle tutorial, shich should be doable by most intermediate jazz guitarists.
I'll show you how to weave the beautiful melody in between the guitar chords and get a great sounding The Christmas Song chord melody arrangement, aka an instrumental or fingerstyle arrangement, that cna be played by one person (without a band).
But I've also made a beautiful The Christmas Song backing track, so you can play along under the christmas tree. I hope three weeks are enough to learn this beautiful Christmas Song Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire guitar arrangement.

down in southeast texas at christmas time we have a cujun gumbo cooking on the stove. i never had a roasted chestnut of any kind . i think mel torme wrote that song and he was a great drummer and singer. a beautiful song and your arrangements are spot on. thank you from texas.
I loved me some sweet roasted chestnuts. We call them Maroni here and your get them in the streets of Vienna everywhere, during the winter. They fry em in big mobile ovens. Yummue 😋.

Welcome to my channel, Eric. I started out with a mixed style channel, but soon realized, that I'm better off with jazz. Yes, this one may a bit more difficult. It#s intermediate level. Make sure to know the basic jazz chords and the tension chords. I have both videos in my "Chords" playlist here on youtbe. The basic chords even come with a free PDF. In the Tension chords video I alos explain how the chord families work.

Great arrangement - I will buy this one as well :) . One question - in the bridge when playing "...Santa's on his way" it seems to be a lower pitch that the original vocal line. Is there another chord voicing that can raise the melody line? Or maybe it's just my old ears LOL

Does that Howard Roberts give your arms or shoulder problems? I have an Ibanez that’s cut away just like yours - same thickness etc that aggravates my shoulder bursitis. I wish I could play it all the time but I use my strat instead. Any suggestions?
It doesn't anymore. It's not very fast (6cm I think). When it did I got off the D'Angelico Deluxe Mini DC.m, which had a great jazz sound for how thin and small it is! I made a review of it too: ruclips.net/video/z9Hq3uvlidk/видео.htmlsi=noAyZspvL90UeQY4

You say the second phrase starts with C-7. Is that correct or is it a Eb6? Looks like the notes are Eb, G, Bb, C. Thank you so much for your lessons. Amazing.

I am retired now and have time to learn. I purchased my first Hollowbody electric guitar recently and I have a question. The Guitar is a D'Angelico Deluxe DC LE and the neck is not very player friendly in my opinion.
I purchased the guitar from an on-line dealer and I didn't play before purchase I believe the frets are too high. Do you have an opinion on this guitar?
I know your busy but if you find a minute to write back I would appreciate it. If you could recommend a guitar in around the $2,000.00 USD I would look at it.
D'Aangelico guitars have a 16" fretboard radius, which is super flat. I could never play those fretboards. Bar chords are very hard to play on such a flat radius.
