My new favorite beginner chord melody. Whatcha think, will you add this to your repertoire? I'm still recovering from a really bad bacterial pharyngitis. My videos are produced months in advance.
You pour a very special magic into every one of your performances Sandra. Your channel overflows with great musical instruction materials. Thank you for all your efforts and hard work. I sincerely hope that you will completely recover from your illness. May God bless you and protect you always
Thank you, Louis! Feel much better already. I'll be having the Christmas shooting. If the voice stays that liw, I can at least say a decent, authentic Ho Ho Ho 😂. Hope you and the family are ok! ❤️
I've learned so much from your lessons. The on-screen chords, bits of theory and clear/simple explanations are so helpful and unintimidating. Really appreciate all you do!
❤️😊 wonderful. Can't wait to try this. And a very big thank you Sandra. I have learned so much from you in the past 18 months. For other noobs, "guide" chords are also known as shell voicings, super useful. And for everyone, if you own guitar pro I highly recommend getting Sandra's GP files of any of her arrangements 👍🏼
Make sure to own the newer versions (GP6, better GP7 or 8). I won't support GP5 anymore, bc the export from my GP8 looks like crap and I can't change a thing about it.
You play beautifully Sandra. Your lessons are changing my mind about Jazz guitar. I've been playing for a while and always shied away from this corner of the guitar world, but you've opened my ears. Those chord melodies are intoxicating and I recognise most of the chords from my years of noodling.Your Gibson has a gorgeous tone also. Thanks.
Thanks do much, Anthony! ❤️ This song in particular is a great beginner tune, with a very bluesy flavor. Cherry pick the ones you like! But please also learn the basic jazz chord and the tension Chords (I have 2 videos on these). You're chord los journey will be so much easier, knowing what you're doing. Learning these songs by heart is really challenging without you knowing and under standing the chords and Vatican chords progressing, like a 251.
I like the acoustic tonal quality when you play. The slides sound so good and the timbre of the insturment. So nice. Recently i figured its time to up my muscianship started by studying the sound construction of the band the heartbreakers which is the band behind tom Petty. Then formal training such as this site. Between the two seems to work. Thank you for your commitment @@GuitarversumSandraSherman
Amazing! Glad you found a cool sounding beginner style song. I didn't know this one, but this will definitely go straight into my set list. Love the bluesy touch to it! Thank you and feel better soon!
I love this tune! The lesson is well explained and easy to follow. You are officially my favorite Jazz guitar instructor. Thank you so very much Sandra!
Great song, great smile, looking good… I think you must be feeling better, Sandra👍😁. I worked up a version of this a while back, and now you present some more great explanations and ideas! Well done, as always👏🔥😁
Very nice miss Sandra…do you mind if you pick up the song ( old song ,- Tangerine ) coz I’m in love with this song to learning it..by the way I love your guitar teaching..and I thank you very much for your free lessons…God Bless🙏🏻🥰🤩👍👏👍👏👍👏

Good one Sandra....jaunty tune. took awhile to nail it but can give a reasonable rendition. online learning has been a revelation for me....thank you for setting up as an online tutor...i find your approach very good...try and support you with tab purchases. hope you can keep going
This and Misty are two tunes I warm up with practicing everyday albeit my versions are much more stripped down than yours! I'll enjoy trying it your way!
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman I've learned a lot from your channel Sandra....I agree though...I have an index finger on my fretting hand that was cut off when I was young and sewn back on...leaving me unable to bend the fingertip..it's a great bar finger but I basically have to play most things with the other 3 fingers which over time gave me a strong pinky...I cannot however play an open C chord in the first position...my index finger hangs off the fretboard to play C.....not as handicapped as Django was but I understand what it takes to adapt techniques...great thing is, there are many more places to play an open C if I need to! for some things I'll replace a four finger chord with a double stop.
@@sandrasherman7872 They doc told me I'd never play guitar again and I squeezed a rubber ball for two years until I could finally bend the middle joint a bit...then started relearning guitar...I used to complain about it until I saw a man with one arm playing beautiful guitar once and I thought...my issue is nothing. I've actually gotten to learn to use it over the years in my own way. I guess I'm stubborn that way!
I like it! Practicing some really complex tunes can almost leave me wound up and tight. This looks like a great one to unwind and just have fun with a breezy summer sound. All best and gute Besserung!
love your awesome lessons...would you consider doing, (in style of don't get around much anymore) , ...doing, 'summer wind' frank sinatra or sunny side of the street, willey nelson
Hi Sandra. So excited to see another favorite tune as part of your lessons. When I went to purchase this through the link below and browsing the lesson shop it says "product not found". Alphabetically the lessons in the shop go straight from "Desafinado" to "East of the Sun". Is there something that I am doing wrong? I usually have no problem buying your lessons and can't wait for the next one to be available.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman Thank you so much for that. Just bought it now. Looks like it might be a wet weekend in New Zealand so that's what I'll be doing. Take care and pleased that you are on the mend.

I love this tune and the lesson is great, but I think there is an error in the notation at bar 12 as the top b flat (shown in the video) is missing.
Bar 12 does have a Bb in the notation. Not sure what you mean other than that.

But this song of so often played in C?
In jazz songs are played in caps keys, depending if there's a singer (male or female) or if it's an instrumental.
