Because you are going to have to dip your mirrors when parking along side high curbs in any city in the world with those large wheels. If you still don't understand why, you've never owned a car with so low profile tires and having to park in the city. Cameras and the screens won't have anywhere high enough fidelity for this type of parking.
The car is fantastic but there are issues with automation and software (I have one for 2 weeks now): - too much automation, there should be some buttons for some quick essential functions - our key battery dies in weeks and when the battery dies the car cannot be locked and it stays on for ages after getting out of the car. For that, we have a key card which works when the battery dies in the key. Also sometiems when it is cold and the car is in freezing temperatures outside (normally it is always in the garage at our house) it could take half a minute for the doors to open if you have the automatic door opening switched on! - I live in a cold climate, and it seems the climate control is always in automatic mode and must be changed to manual every time, because the automatic mode is not enough for freezing temperatures and our windows get frosted over, so this must be done every single time if it is freezing temperatures. Another option is to choose the defroster mode which is very loud and not preferable. - If you leave kids inside the car and leave the car with your key, alarm is triggered. So you must activate the pet mode before this. - Biggest issue is the the Pilot Control, it is unusable because it steers right and left all the time even on a straight road and I cannot trust it. You can only activate the normal adaptive cruise control by double tapping on the Pilot control button, which is annoying as I do not ever want to use the Pilot control. - I haven't found a menu option for adjusting the wipers, they seem to always be in automatic mode, which is a big issue in the cold winters here. They might be broken after a while and make a screeching sound when they are frozen. Otherwise, it is a fantastic car to drive, there is a lot of space inside for everyone, so it is a great car! Luckily, the software issues can be mostly resolved with updates.
Phantom braking is probably more common when there is water spray around the slower trucks in the adjacent lane. Its common for radars to get confused by water spray.
Hey Kris, first of: love your videos! I think you can toggle between PilotAssist and adaptive cruise control by either pressing the PilotAssist button once (PA) or twice (ACC). Unfortunately you have to end one to use the other I think.
@@KrisRifa Forgive me if I’m missing something, but isn’t it obvious you can’t use one and the other at the same time because one provides an enhanced level of the other? I mean using pilot assist engages a higher level of control for the car with it taking charge of steering as well as maintaining speed and distance. It’s then logical that ACC can’t be used at the same time because its function of distance and speed are already being managed. Am I missing something fundamental?
@@DeadlyDizzle-yn1vz I think what they refer to is that you cannot toggle between the functionalities directly (one click) but rather have to disengage one before engaging the other (two or three clicks).
Hi Kris, i just got my P4 delivered, and waswondering why those 2 USBC connectors are in the middle console, is this just to load a phone as i cant find a way to play music from a USB , any idea ? Thanks Ph
Hi Kris ,I have a P4 and the wipers sensitivity can be adjusted in the menu system. I also hate the driver alert systems so turn it off as soon as I get in the car. Phone charger also forever popping up messages and speed alert always flashing in the head up display as it doesn’t always recognise the correct limit. So frustrating
Its a Great car, i love it. Wery nice to drive and travel with. Not the only EV that starts with problems that have to get fixed by updates. Tnink it will be ewen better by time.
Hi Kris, I’ve had the car (dm) for two weeks and love it, however the bugs are quite annoying! The mobile key is an upcoming feature.. just like preconditioning for the battery..
Curious why you blur your speed, do you drive over the limit all the time so don't want Norwegian Rozzers to know your actual speed? Doesn't look like you're speeding compared to traffic around and in front of you.
I just watched to this for the sound comparison. Is it the Harmon Kardon... 😂 I have ordered the Base Sound System and want to know if this has improved after the update. @kris, could you please check?
I tested the polestar 4 & 3. The harman kardon system on the P4is one of the worst audio systems on the market. The B&W system on the PS3 is much better.
Ok …. We all know the software is buggy, so what is polestar is doing to fix it, why is it taking too long for them, this could be one of the best cars if they fix the software
Electronic door handles will alone kill polestar as a company … stupid emulation of a stupid idea by Tesla … four people just died in a Tesla fire needlessly because they couldn’t open the doors when the electronic door switches failed …
I agree, don’t copy all the stupid ideas from Tesla. I like how the Polestar 2 has normal door handles and stalks with knobs and buttons for different lights, wiper modes etc. Tesla used to have this type of stalks before Model 3 came out, but keep moving towards more minimalism in the interface. Not a fan.
Hi Kris, if you double tap the Pilot Assist button, you only turn on adaptive cruise control without Pilot Assist
@@FlemmingDyring yeah, but you can’t toggle between the two while either is activated
Keep in coming Kris. i've a reservation on this car in the USA and would love more input on whether to keep it.
Mirrors and steering wheel : you adjust them to your preferences once and then never again : where is the problem actually?

@@KrisRifai don't know anyone who adjusts their mirrors when parking. You're getting too close to the kerb if you need to adjust them.
Don’t the mirrors dip by themselves when put into reverse?

I have one on order. Expecting delivery in late January. I'm coming from a Mercedes E220D with all of the options so I'm a little nervous. :)

HUD available?
On 4.1.10 and have not had any problems with the hud not turning on.
The responses, for example the doors, is as it should be. Just that Kris is impatient 😅. Its the Polestars set-up. A bit firm.
Part of the laggy software is probably a too slow CPU that they can't fix because the software despite all its bugs is just too demanding for the CPU.
In general the software isnt‘t laggy at all
