  • Dr. Rowe shows how to quickly release tightness and tension in muscles highly associated with neck and shoulder pain.
A big contributing factor of neck and shoulder discomfort comes from a build up of stress, tension, and tightness in muscles that can lead to painful muscle knots, spasms, and trigger points.
This video will help release this stress and tension (and keep it easy) by focusing on two main muscles that cause pain in this area, the levator scapulae and upper trapezius.
Each exercise works a little differently. To get the best results, go through them all and use what gives you the most pain relief.
As a bonus, all of these exercises can be done at home and require no equipment.
Watch now for quick and long-lasting neck and upper back muscle pain relief.
    Chapters:

    0:52 Upper Trapezius Release
    4:04 Levator Scapulae Release

@DrRowe Hello! Firstly, thank you for your valuable lessons! I have a suggestion, it may sound odd. Stretching the intercostal rib muscles. I think these muscles can get very stiff, impairing a full range of motion like a torso rotation. I don't know if any exercises exist for this, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks again for the work that you share!

The Lavator Scapulae! Oh my goodness that’s the exact spot that has been giving me so much discomfort for a week now! I didn’t know the name of it. Many thanks as always for this information. I am a senior and my doctor is sending me for an ultrasound it was hurting so intensely. I will get the test but also gently try your exercises. I’m so grateful for all you do. ❤

I was recently in a car accident, a couple weeks before Xmas. I was close to breaking my neck, instead I fractured my neck. I’ve been in so much pain, I lost a vehicle so it was hard for me to get to appt. To see what I needed to do to help relive the pain and also heal. Did I mention I have 3 kids. The youngest being a baby. It was a hard Christmas. I just found ur videos and I applaud u for the help. I couldn’t feel my fingers for weeks, from poor circulation due to my neck and shoulder pain. Doing these stretches helped a lot. I now watch all ur videos. :)
