A couple years ago while standing in line at Burger King I heard them call an order for "Starscream". A kid about 16 or 17 walks up and grabs the bag. I asked him if that was his real name. Very embarrassed he looked down and said "yeah". I told him "dude, if you were a little older you'd know how cool that is". He smiled and said "thank you". Seemed like a nice kid.
I love that it says "Hello, my name is Starscream" on him, so Megatron can tell the difference.

Tbf starscream is a good fighter
That is one of the theories on why he was so willing to put up with Starscream's crap: Megatron was grooming him to be his eventual replacement. Makes sense, too, when you realize G1 Starscream was actually pretty smart, just a little too hotheaded and shortsighted. Megs himself wasn't much better, but he tended to be better at schemes and plans. If you met at the middleground between them, you'd probably have a great leader.
I love this alternate timeline in which Megatron is a genuinely considerate and down-to-earth evil dictator.

This series has more continuity than most tv shows made today seeing how the seekers had since applied name tags to themselves to combat megatron’s colorblindness and Megatron actually addressing starscream accurately.

Wait what? Why would he be bad at video games? He's been fighting in a war so he can definitely aim, and his whole thing is spying + being able to hack into enemy comms. He'd always be one step ahead. And even if he was losing, he can probably do some cheating like DDOS stuff to win.

Soundwave’s rant at the end was him venting all his pent-up rage at the dysfunctional incompetence he has to put up with.
The fact that Megatron would prefer Starscream over Soundwave makes me think that we are living in a parallel universe

Lol this kinda reminds me of All Hail Megatron a little bit. Megatron praised Starscream and told him how he will eventually become leader of the Decepticons. Best interaction between the two of them. Of course all of this was thrown out afterwards during Spotlight Megatron. :P
The only unfortunately underbaked IDW arcs (before Lost Light) revolved around Starscream and the Seekers. Keep in mind they had about 6 trillion other characters to write and payoff stories for.
Yeah I sometimes wonder what kind of road IDW Transformers would have gone down if Shane McCarthy stayed as head writer instead of Mike Costa taking over.

One little gripe. Megatron, is the first deception, he formed the organization to bring equality to all bots. Then went all like crazy with it.
In G1 he is descended from a long line of Decepticon Leaders, having reigned for a long while before even killing Orion Pax.
G1's Continuity is really weird compared to all the others, despite being the Prime (hehe) starting point for the entire Franchise.
