To be fair, the seekers are canonically based off the same bodyplan and have the exact same chassis.
Doesn't mean you can just forget how Skywarp can teleport for no reason.
He's also part of G.I. Joe.
I think Skywarp’s teleportation power was explained somewhere, but not like I remember.

Skywarp was being strung along by the promise of getting some much-needed repairs by one of the boss Decepticons, and he defected to the Joes during a crossover because they were willing to fix him up. And actually stayed with them, he would make multiple appearances during subsequent G.I. Joe stories (with the role of "Heavy Air Support") and (during the inevitable Unicron storyline) had to get permission to return to the Seekers until the Unicron crisis was over.

There was originally two robots produced by the quintasons, Military hardware and Consumer goods or something these would eventually become the Decepticons and autobots respectably, but now that more beloved and used primus origin is used they are usually all seen as the same species
It kinda depends on which continuity we're talking about. I mean in the original series I remember this flashback to the background for the war that made a pretty big deal out 'this new model of cybertronian that could fly' with the first few decepticons and later in the show both factions on earth ended up making whole teams of special new transformers including the 'construcktacons' and the first versions of the dinobots if I'm not misrembering the first one's were just swaps of the decepticon = flying and autobot=land vehicle and in that 2004ish cartoon network show the autobots main characters never stopped making a big deal out of the fact 90 percent ofdecepicons could fly with the only real exception being black arachnia who had a whole thing with her backstory,not to mention that the deceptions especially starscream tended to insistintly address any autobots as 'you/this autobot filth/scum which always gave me kinda racist vibes with the previously mentioned bits, also coming to mind is cyberverse which had 2 notable exceptions to the ' decepticon= flying autobot= land vehicle in main character windblade and the racecar decepticon whose name unfortunately escapes me now and I've written way too much to close out of this reply and looked it up, though I do remember a bit from one of the early episodes that kinda implied that seekers in particular or at least young starscream and a small group of other 'jets' already had a bit a superiority complex that I always figured Megatron may of took advantage of somewhere in all the vague political bits in the flashbacks throughout the show. All in all it's usually not a big thing but there has been a lot of points in the long history of the franchise where a sorta ' fantasy racism' was implied.

Lore wise this is exactly what starscream wanted.
Abridged version: starscream owed alot of money to the cybertron IRS and had a bunch of bots reconstructed to look like him so if the cybertronian irs came looking for him he could throw one of his look alike under the bus
This is one of my favourite Starscream facts and i was starting to worry i had misremembered because i had somehow never seen anyone else mention it.
In fact said custom became a bit of a norm.
He made a long lasting cybertronian ritual with body modification included with consequences for the cybertronian air force, just to avoid being jailed for tax fraud.
That was Preboot IDW only, but it still fits Starscream only too well. XD

but seriously though I've seen at least two continuities where Starscream cloned himself, so maybe that's what happened.
In fairness, G1 Seekers were solely differentiated by colors. They all shared the exact same body build, with I think several other "conehead" ones also sharing a body type. At least Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp got names.

They all got names. Nova Storm, Slipstream, Acid Rain, Ramjet, Sunstorm, Thrust, and Ion Storm are the other G1 seekers.
@@KingZolem The Rainmakers were only named long after G1, memory serves. Along with those random other ones that showed up in the first few episodes, and seemed to stop appearing as the show went on.
Slipstream was also another "long after G1" case. And, funnily, she was actually given her own look pretty quickly. Though I think she wasn't named by the cartoon proper.

It's even more messed up that in canon, Starscream is the one that actually made the seekers look like him so they would be harder to differentiate and therefore make it easier for HIM to evade capture.

As an Asian who is not color blind, i can relate to the seeker thing.
The head designs are the only way to differentiate them, but that's like trying to differentiate different GM muscle cars from the 70's

There's actually a scene in "Transformers Prime" where Megatron throws what he thinks are three seekers off a ledge to chase after a falling autobot, but the third turns into a sports car, who spends the entire mid-air chase sequence screaming in terror and falling in the background...
I want a Transformers Show where Starscream goes head to head with Megatron. And is capable of standing a chance against him.
Megatron is really confused when those yellow and green unnamed seekers from the first season come back and report to him....
It's even funnier when you remember that in _Transformers Animated_ every Seeker other than Starscream was a literal clone of him with one sliver of his personality. The two that survived long enough were given special gear *just* so the other Decepticons knew who was who between . . . I wanna say Dirge and Ramjet, but I'm not completely sure.

@@sdm47It depends on the continuity. I g1 I think it was mainly power though and this video uses g1 designs not anything else. In the aligned continuity and idw he does have more genuine and understandable reasoning and just became ruthless after all of the conflict and everything he goes through. I like to imagine that Starscream made him so evil though. I don't like the netflix wfc show much overall. But one of the things I did like was how Starscream was just whispering in his ear and making him even worse.

You nailed the writing on this, to say nothing of the impressions & the voice effect used on 'em. Felt like a legit episode of Transformers G1 there. The pause before Starscream calling Megs racist was perfect timing.
Can I make a suggestion? Next time, instead of using the word "Sleep" just use the word "Stasis" as that's how Cybertronians describe being asleep. But Sleep works fine in this G1 Context too since they always played it loosey-goosey. I had fun watching this video, hope to see more!

G2 Ramjet. IDW made him and Actionmaster Thundercracker separate but unnamed characters to the originals in a one panel cameo.
Then there's the countless backgrounds Seekers. It must be disconcerting to be surrounded by countless identical people even with the colour variations.
Guess Megs need some fixing his optics on his sight system problems again…guess he needs Shockwave to check on his Optics after this. Dx
Funnily enough, in IDW 2005, Starscream actually had numerous remodelling throughout his life to distinguish himself from others built in the seeker mould. This behaviour is attributed to either his vanity or a case of body dysmorphia.
At least Thundercracker looked different in Transformers Cybertron. If only Skywarp had a different design in that show. A design that makes him different from the rest of the Seekers.

Yeah I don't blame him, the only difference between the G1 version of the trio is that they are color swap versions of themselves and they've got different powers.

I'd like to see the sales numbers for all the iterations of seekers. I imagine Starscream sells the best because they keep making toys of him even if they don't make the other two. It shows how powerful media is. The three had the exact same molds but Starscream sold the best because he was featured the most on the show.

That wasn't an animation error in Heavy Metal War, ir was Megatron reapplying Starscream's paintjob to Thundercracker to make them easier to tell apart.
