Hello, dearest. I posted quite a daring video ever and it's about my medical condition. For the longest time, I have been keeping this illness to me and my closest people only since I don't want any unnecessary attention from it. However, throughout this journey, I have been watching other people's vlogs as well as they go through with their illness and treatments. It feels encouraging and motivating when I see that I am not fighting this alone. Therefore I've decided to make a video to hopefully be able to serve a sense of purpose for someone else as well. I hope through watching my videos, any of you would be able to get inspired in any ways and that I hope you would be able to feel the positivity and happiness I always try to show through the routines of life. Life might be mundane at times, but it's always up to us how we want our life to be projected.
So, always think positive, happy and healthy ✨

I am a 17+ year ovarian cancer survivor. I was also given 70% chance of survival, but my mindset was always either I would be a zero or one - I’d love or die. I chose to believe I’d be a one. (Yes, I’m a researcher!) I was not a genetic carrier, but I got my CA-125 done every three months for 15 years and now I’m twice a year. I hope they are offering you the Signatera test, as coupled with CA-125, it’s a very good monitoring tool. Normal CA-125 with Labcorp is 38 or lower. They start to suspect OC when you’re over 200. I was only a 64 and ended up being stage 3C. Hang in there. You’ve got great newer medicines and a good support team. The first couple of years are the worst in terms of feeling like cancer is driving your life, but it gets better. Exercise if you can. I hate it too, but it helps.

Thank you so much for the encouraging experience! It's been a year and three months since my diagnosis and glad to say everything has been all good! I keep telling myself that I am not sick and just go about my life as normal as it could be, if anything I become more productive! You're right, I have great faith in today's treatment and medicines and I most definitely will ask my oncologist about that test you mentioned!

Avastin is not an antibiotic. It is a Targeted Therapy, that keeps tumors from being able to develop a blood supply. It is typically given for about 18 months after surgery, to stage 3 and stage 4 patients. Lynparza is an Immunotherapy drug that can be given longterm, as a maintenance therapy.

When you went to the GI doctor with your abdominal pain, that doctor should have ordered a CT scan. You should not have had to go to the ER and sit waiting 10 hours to get one.

I was in ER the same day COVID lock down in the hospital for a very large ovarian cancer mass. I was so lucky to have one of the best surgeons and surgical group. Now I have passed 4th year and am looking for the 5th year mark. For my impression, ovarian cancer was rare, but now it's so common, or maybe because I'm paying attention to it. Currently there are newly developed therapies, hope we all can live long enough to see its cure.

You are a very strong young lady. I am sorry you are going through this. I also had ovarian cancer. I was diagnosed September 2021.i had surgery to remove my ovaries because I had the braca2 gene and breast cancer 22 years before. My mom also died from breast cancer.
Anyway, it turned out I was too late and already had ovarian cancer. Went through another surgery and 6 rounds of chemo. I was 60 at the time. You are so young. My stage was 1c3. I didn't get any medication afterwards.
I wish you all the best and I am glad you are finished with treatment, except for the medication. Take care.

That's what the doctors were saying as well, they kept saying I was too young for this but it turns out I was confirmed for Rad51 C germline mutation, so that explains it. My mom also had breast cancer when she was 38 years old but she's in remission now for years. My fight is still not over yet but I'm optimistic.
Thank you so much for the wishes and support. Let's finish strong together!

@@memoirof how often do you have to get checked? Is Rad51C linked to both breast and ovarian cancers ? How old were you when you were first diagnosed ? Kamsahamnida

    • @memoirof

@@muma6559 Hi! Yes, RAD51C is a breast and ovarian cancer susceptibility gene. I still have 2 months of bevacizumab (antibiotic), so I always need to do CT-Scan every 3 months to assess the treatment. After that, I would only need to see my oncologist every 6 months along with routine CT-Scan or MRI, eventually the visit time will get lesser and lesser (Amen to that!) I was diagnosed on December 2022, I was 33 years old!

@@memoirof thanks for that. I hope the antibiotic doesn't ruin your stomach, try taking probiotics and prebiotics at the same time to preserve your stomach lining. I wish you all the best, you are very sweet. God bless.

If you have to have a second parathentesis, you're supposed to be given an abdominal port at that time, so that you can keep the ascites drained off, yourself.

    • @memoirof
      @memoirof  2 месяца назад

Hello! Yeah, I guess the doctors kinda knew the ascites were caused by tiny cancer cells near my stomach lining and it would go away with chemo. Which it did. So glad for that!

    Hi,
I live in South Africa. The sun is always shining here and there is always the risk of developing skin cancer if you have a light skin. I developed a growth on the lower eye lid of my right eye. I do not know if it is cancer or just a benign growth but I went on a high nutrition diet for about two months and the growth have shrunk noticeably.
I would like to share the diet with you.
    The soup
Ingredients: - two handfuls of Chopped broccoli, one chopped onion (purple), two bags of green tea, two pinches of mixed herbs, two sticks of cut celery, Two handfuls of frozen and crushed spinach or kale, half a table spoon of crushed garlic, Three shakes of black pepper, seven shakes of turmeric, two tablespoons full of apple cider vinegar (with the mother), one bag of white onion powder soup for flavour, a hand full of cooked red speckled beans and a handful of cooked mince meat.
Just add all the ingredients in a pot, add boiling water and switch the stove on high till the water boils. Then lower the heat until the water simmer, Let the soup simmer for an hour. The soup is now ready.
I would only drink water in the morning. At 12h00 I would start eating the soup. There will be about two helpings that you can eat in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. I also ate a fruit salad every day in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame.
(Note: Apparently turmeric reduces the effect of some chemotherapy drugs and thus should not be taken during chemotherapy.)
During the rest of the week I would also eat food that contains vitamin D like avocado’s, mushrooms, liver and eggs in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame.
It seems to be working for me, maybe it will also work for you.
I pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ that you will be healed. Amen.

If you discredit evolution, you'd have to discredit all of modern medicine - you might as well discard all faith that medicine would work. Please don't spread misinformation. @memoirof take all avice with a grain of salt and always, always ask your closest friends, family and trusted doctors for a 2nd opinion over internet information. I've only stumbled upon your story recently - you remind me very much of my beloved cousin, please stay safe, keep healthy and live your best life!
