    Just a suggestion, I read an article by a lady with quite extensive experience in skincare (like PhD in cosmetic chemistry sort of experience) who suggests that you use creams/lotions before oils as the oils trap the water in the moisturizer in the skin after absorption leading to better overall hydration levels in the skin. I've been misting with a rose water toner, followed by a cream in the evenings, allowing it to absorb fully and then applying a few drops of oil. I no longer wake up with oily patches from using oil and my skin is looking much much better these days. Just wanted to share :)

      Everyone’s skin is different and THIS GIRL IN THE VIDEO is beautiful with glowing skin so her routine is working for her amazing. Just because someone has a degree means nothing. I follow this girls same steps too and my skin is glowing too. Oil on the face keeps you younger. People are so sought on removing it. Look at children they don’t have dry dehydrated skin. It’s shiny and holds their natural oils. When you use harsh abrasive soaps and remove the oil your skin gets dry and eventually dryness is what leads to aging. So USE AND VALUE oils!!!!!

    I know I’m literally a year late but if anyone stumbles on this here’s a tip: if coconut oil breaks you out, use certified organic jojoba oil instead! Jojoba oil doesn’t clog pores and is just as good as coconut!

      Thank you for this! I just found this video because I'm struggling with bad breakouts and I'm still very confused and overwhelmed about all the info on skin care. And then seeing everyone say "Don't use coconut oil" confused me even more. So thank you! I will try this!

    • @OliviaOsueke
      @OliviaOsueke 2 года назад +4

      Yes! The molecular structure of Jojoba oil is very close to our own natural sebum which is why it can actually penetrate the skin to moisturize it. Most other oils are just "coats"; they only coat the skin and seal in whatever moisture is already there ( also another reason why they cause breakouts).

I really hope this video is helpful in some way! loveeeee rach xxxxx ALSO:
    I feel like i've said this before a lot but I forgot to mention it for anyone new to my channel! My diet and what I drink plays a key role in my skincare too. Being vegan and eating a wholefood diet and drinking water contributes to how happy or not happy my skin is xxx

      Dymond Bihh Honestly, I had to go Vegan to get my skin/oil under control. Diet & microdermabrasion sessions. Mario Badescu foaming cleanser, Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme mask/scrub and finally Mario’s drying mask. But ABOVE all, I had to change my diet and incorporate water ONLY!! I’m a baller on a budget so if you’re like me a diet change maybe the cheapest solution. Good luck 💕

      @@dymondbihh6476 Use 100% aloe vera gel!! It fades scars & will moisturize without being oily at all. I apply it while my face is still wet after washing (it can tend to dry sticky if you apply it on a dry face) and has been working wonders. I got mine at target, huge bottle for like 6 bucks

    As far as coconut oil, I’d say user beware, because if you have a certain type of oily acne-prone skin that is triggered by hormonal fluctuations, then coconut oil can aggravate those breakouts. I’m talking from (painful) experience here. Just because something is organic, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good for you. Had a nasty, nasty reaction to coconut and castor oils that meant months of dermatologist visits and cortizone treatments. The only thing that worked for clearing up my acne were deep cleaning facials with pore extractions as well as birth control pills.

    • @Jayariee
      @Jayariee 6 лет назад +15

      Raluko111 it's also known to clog pores. I'm not sure if her cleansing mitigates that action but generally it's not the best for face skin. I didn't use it on skin but i did on hair and over about two months i saw my hair changing colour and always felt dry, as i switched oils my hair colour slowly came back towards the roots and my hair absorbs better

    • @raluko1111
      @raluko1111 6 лет назад

      Yes, that’s right. Actually I’ve used it the same way as Rachel, and also as a mask for my hair, and even though I rinsed it, it still affected me in a negative way. Nevertheless, I have friends who also love it, so it’s a risk you have to take if you’re really into it.

      So sorry you had to go through such a horrible experience! Thanks for sharing it, hopefully it can help anyone else who may have had a bad experience with it. Luckily for me the coconut oil has been working well on my face for a while now ❤️

    • @bt6264
      @bt6264 5 лет назад +5

      Everybody's skin will react differently to skin care products. Just use products that works for your skin type. I use coconut oil on my skin (including my face & hair) every night and my skin is flawless (natural glow). I get a lot of compliments on my skin and I don't use any wrinkle creams or other lotion, beside Avenno lotion in the morning. Btw, the brand of coconut oil also makes a difference. I would highly encourage you to try Tea Tree facial wash from The Body Shop, which I been using over 15 yrs and see if that helps.

    Hey Rachel, what's the name of the dreadlocks you have on. It's so beautiful and most of all very natural looking. It suits very well.

    Rachel you should definitely try out Thayer's toners!! I have acne prone skin and I've been using their Rose face toner for a while now, I use it at least once or sometimes even twice a day and my skin stays soft and predominantly clear now. I also like to use Youth to the People and Nourish Organic products, these brands are vegan/cruelty free💜

    Thank you for this! I'm vegan too and I've just been given a prescription cream by the doctors and I hate it! It's obviously not cruelty free (which hurts my vegan soul) and it dries out my skin but the spots and scars are still there. I've been googling like crazy and this is the most helpful video I've come across. As another youtuber I felt like a hypocrite talking about vegan beauty while using this cream. Thank you! Also you're absolutely gorgeous.

    Ingreen has reusable cotton pads and her entire online store is plastic free she's amazing. I believe the cotton pads she sells are handmade in the UK and organic. Highly reccomend

    I've literally watched this video so many times! I have been battling acne for about 5 years now and I really believe it is due to bacteria and clogged pores. I have tried all drugstore products and none of them worked for my skin, so I decided to switch to all natural products. The natural products have help me manage my skin better, but they haven't completely cleared and taken away all of the hyper-pigmentation I have. I am definitely going to give the glycolic acid toner and salicylic acid solution from The Ordinary a try! Could you please do a vegan body care routine as well! I battle with a lot of chest and back acne. Also, you have really inspired me change my diet to being a vegan, so I am definitely going to give it a try as well. LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos.

      Do you know why you get acne? Im guessing youve had all the hormone blood tests, is it acne? Or is Eczema? Are you sure you are not allergic to anything? Food. What kind of dietcare you on?

      Bess I didn’t even stick to the salicylic acid solution. I use African black soap and it has done wonders on my skin.

      Doreen Patterson I have acne! Due to a combination of these such as genetics and diet. My acne has gotten tens times better over the pass 6 months because I made changes in my life once I realized what was causing my acne.

    You’re glowing darling! I love how natural your routine is but what skin type do you have bc I find that using oils can be a little tricky.

    try weledas skinfood moisturizers!!! I would also say explore some of the alpha hydroxy acids from the ordinary such as the lactic acid, mandelic acid, or even the aha/bha peel system. They will be anti aging, proactive in correcting skin concerns, and preventative. :)
