  • How to Crochet the Woven Scarf - this pattern is super fast and easy, with a one row repeat it makes the most beautiful soft and squishy textured scarves. Bored of normal crochet scarves? Then this is the project for you 😀
It is also very economical with yarn so perfect if you don't have much to hand - I used less than 2 balls for this entire 5ft long scarf! Quick to work up with an unusual look, it is definitely something different from the norm. A fab combination of crochet and weaving! Keep scrolling for time stamps and pattern details 👇

    🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on RUclips yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

Oh my, I need to stop watching you! I'm in overload. Lol. I have bulky yarn, big hook, and some cloth ribbon I purchased at an estate sale years ago and haven't used. I am a weaver by trade (although I haven't been weaving much for a couple of years) I have been quilting and now I've added crochet thanks to you and your wonderful teaching. Thank you so much for what you do.

Just finished mine! I used super bulky yarn with an 8mm hook. The yarn was
Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick Stripes. It crocheted up very quick! It made a super beautiful striped pattern. Then, used 3 strands of soft & shiny white yarn for each "weave." Turned out beautiful!!! Thanks so much for the pattern.

took the words right out of my mouth. i'm inspired and i'm a 50 yr-old man (don't judge me) - i don't think i'd be great at it but i know my 14-yr-old daughter would and voila - you just introduced me to her holiday gift and her instructor all at once. Thank you Robin! PS if you would use Amazon links it would be easier for Yanks like us - plus you'd make _significantly_ greater income as you would be compensated for everything in the shopping cart ('tis the season for big purchases).

I absolutely adore rainbow colourway yarn and things made with them!
I will be trying this with shawl in a ball in the rainbow colourway. My mother made a baby blanket similar to this many many years ago. I always wanted to make one for myself but she didn't remember the pattern she used. Thank you for this bit of nostalgia. I am really looking forward to making this soon.

I am so happy your videos were one of the first ones I saw as I began to learn crochet. I have to agree that between the voice and easiness of following what you are doing… you are among my top 3 channels I go to for projects. Happily each one is getting a little better than the previous 👏👏 Very thankful that as I learn the love of crochet, your videos are here no matter how many years ago you originally did it. Thank you for all you do… which is a lot… because for over a year i could get nothing to go past the starting chain… and your v stitch tutorial was my first successful “hey, I got past row 2” project 🙏😁🤗

To guarantee an even number of strand sets at each end, the number chained at the beginning should be 4n + 2 with variable n. Like I could say I’ll chain 46 because 4(11)+2=46 so I know it will have perfect strands for tying at the end

Glad to see I wasn't the only one trying to work that out :D The way I thought of was if I did and odd number of pairs before the +6, that would be an even number of spaces. For the sample she did 14+6, or 7 stitches plus the end stitch, for a total of 8 "stitches" or spaces. So any odd number should work!

@@K1TTY_14 To make sure your initial starting chain is a multiple of 4, and adding +2 at the end of it.

I think I'm going to make this for my best friend and her daughters (and maybe her husband if I can work out a good manly color) for Christmas. It's light enough for our very mild Southern winters! :)

Used to make afghans like this for wedding gifts. Something that looks really pretty is if you do a second row of knots by taking 2 strands from one bunch and combining them with 2 strands from the Fringe of the next bunch. Gives the fringe a much fancier appearance. Anyway, thanks for this video. You did a great job of presenting and explaining! Happy crocheting! Oh. Should have mentioned one drawback for this pattern is when you launder the project the weaving strands tend to pull and make everything bunch up. I found the way to avoid this was to take the time to stitch the woven strands at the very ends to the crochet part so they can no longer slide around. A bit more work....yes....but voila! Problem solved.
