I am a beginner and wanted to thank you for this video. You are a very good teacher and you camera is super clear so I could see exactly what you were doing. Probably the most helpful part was when you changed yarn colors. I have watched a ton of videos and you are the first person I have seen do this. It made everything so clear and easy to follow! Brilliant!! Thank you!
Hi Robin, you're a great teacher, repeating instructions, time stamps and chapters and any other info one needs for all levels of crocheters. Thank you for all the work and details you put into your videos. ❤
I want to THANK YOU. Your videos are so impressive. You teach and don't treat us like a little kid. You talk when it is needed, not just to hear yourself. THAN YOU.
I just want to say that you are the reason I got into crochet just a little over a year ago. I have since made quite a few things, including a queen size blanket! It is thanks to your easy to follow tutorials that I got the basics. Keep up the good work!
@@andromediane I’m afraid of starting a project like this because I have two kids, 2 and 4, and I’m terrified they’ll get hold of it and undo my stitches 😱
I've always been a knitter for 60+ years and thought I might try crochet .. going through RUclips I have found your tutorials the easiest and most clear to follow.. thank you very much 😊
I was so happy to find this easy to follow video for making a scarf. My son called me two days before Christmas to let me know he was bringing a guest to Christmas. She is an avid crocheter and does remarkable pieces. I wanted to be able to give her a gift, so I made this scarf. It took me a day and a half of pretty steady work. The scalloped edges is what makes it really pretty.
I do wish more RUclipsrs would consider the backgrounds when filming. So often I have abandoned watching just because I can't see the yarn as it's the same colour as the background. Thank you too for changing yarn colours so that we can more easily see what you do. You are definitely my go-to crochet tutor!
I recently started crocheting and dove right in with time-consuming blankets. I found this video searching for a smaller project to take a break with and I'm so close to finishing! Easy to follow, simple stitch that results in a beautiful pattern. Thank you! I plan on making a couple more as Christmas gifts!
For how insanely beautiful this scarf turns out, it is so beginner friendly! Much thanks to your clear instructions and repeated demonstrations. I’ll be proud to gift this scarf to a friend this Christmas 🎄
Hello. This video is simply just what it needs for a beginner like myself. Thanks to you, in the course of 4 days I finished my very 1st project, a lovely warm long scarf. I'm so glad I discovered crochet and with your help via these video, I will for sure continue to create more. Thank you so much, dear Robin!
That was a smart move to make the background a dark color and to change the yarn to a lighter color to make it easier for some to see. Thank you for posting this video. Happy crocheting all!!

I think I'll use this for placemats on my Thanksgiving table. Thanks Robin! I love HDC. Something so satisfying about it.
That sounds wonderful! 😍🧶
That is a great idea with matching table runner!

You use the prettiest yarns, Robin! And this looks so soft too. Thank you.
Awwwh thank you Lynne! It is really soft.😃🧶
Gorgeous stitch pattern! The resulting scarf looks so classy -- it could go dressy or casual. I love the muted colors yarn (reminds me of RH's "Unforgettable"). Equally as beautiful in the "Ocean" colorway -- with or without the cream colored stripe! Thank you for a VERY clear, understandable, and well-paced video! 🏆🙌 ❤️
Very true! I think it would go with any outfit like you said.😃. Thank you so much for your kind words on my video too, so happy you like it! 🧶

Love your detailed instructions. Easy but lovely stitch. I crochet for charity so I'm always looking for beautiful, easy, quick stitch patterns. Thanks for sharing 🤗
You’re welcome and that’s so lovely! 🤗🥰
Thank you so much, Robin. I have been struggling with the Single Crochet column stitch for 3 weeks now, and this scarf pattern is on the same lines. You have shown me where I was going wrong, thanks to your amazing tutorial. I can now attempt my first pullover / jumper!
Thank you so much Frances and I’m so happy it has helped, a pullover/jumper sounds a great idea! What colours are you going for?😃🧶
@@HookedbyRobin I am going to use Kingcole Island Beaches DK #4534 Dune Beach, only because I have 8 balls of it in my shop that hasn't sold in over a year! Might as well have a go at crocheting a garment. I usually do amigurumi.
Best beginner crochet video out there... I've had a lot of failed attempts following other videos. 1st time I failed cause of the British stitch vs American but then I went to beginning and watched over then I got it.
Thank you so much!😃🧣
@@HookedbyRobin 😊

Awh, thank you for such a wonderful comment!🥰🤗
Thank you! I'm a beginner and was looking for an easy project to start crochet and I just finished my very first scarf with a lovely variegated yarn! Never finished the ones I tried knitting...(I'm so bad at knitting but enjoy crochet very much!). I'm so proud of myself! But that is all thanks to you and your amazing tutorial, your instructions are clear and you don't go too fast, I love it ! I'm going to give this scarf to my mum for her birthday. Next project: the daisy key chain !
I’m exactly the same - I have tried to learn to knit and I just can’t do it!😅🫣 Thank you so much for your kindness too, I am glad you are enjoying the videos. The daisy key chain is cute!🥰
Hi I’m 10 and I don’t have any experience with crochet and my mum said she will get me a pack by the end of the month and I love this tutorial because it seems so beginner friendly! Keep up the the good work
