      I used a 5.5mm hook size but use the recommended hook size on your chosen yarn ball.😃🧶

    I am a beginner and wanted to thank you for this video. You are a very good teacher and you camera is super clear so I could see exactly what you were doing. Probably the most helpful part was when you changed yarn colors. I have watched a ton of videos and you are the first person I have seen do this. It made everything so clear and easy to follow!     That was a smart move to make the background a dark color and to change the yarn to a lighter color to make it easier for some to see. Thank you for posting this video. Happy crocheting all!!

    I just want to say that you are the reason I got into crochet just a little over a year ago. I have since made quite a few things, including a queen size blanket! It is thanks to your easy to follow tutorials that I got the basics. Keep up the good work!

    commenting for the algorithm so that more people can see this video-- super easy and pleasant stitch to do, well-explained by HBR, 11/10 video. My auntie always makes handmade crafts-- quilts, cushion covers, coasters, etc etc etc-- for everybody in our family, and I think it would be nice if she got a gift of her own for once. I'm just finishing up the tassels now and then it will be hers I think. thank you Robin!

    I recently started crocheting and dove right in with time-consuming blankets. I found this video searching for a smaller project to take a break with and I'm so close to finishing!     I do wish more RUclipsrs would consider the backgrounds when filming. So often I have abandoned watching just because I can't see the yarn as it's the same colour as the background. Thank you too for changing yarn colours so that we can more easily see what you do. You are definitely my go-to crochet tutor!

    I was so happy to find this easy to follow video for making a scarf. My son called me two days before Christmas to let me know he was bringing a guest to Christmas. She is an avid crocheter and does remarkable pieces. I wanted to be able to give her a gift, so I made this scarf. It took me a day and a half of pretty steady work. The scalloped edges is what makes it really pretty.

    This is a great pattern I can do when I want to multitask a bit, since you don't have to worry about counting numbers of stitches, where to go is mapped out for you from the previous row really nicely.

    Have been searching all year long for a simple, beautiful scarf tutorial for a beginner, and yours has got to be the best I found. I searched many, many tutorials. You explain everything so clearly and well. Plus it is a simple, beautiful pattern. I started today making one for my daughter for Christmas.

      @@HookedbyRobin I had made some scarves for some friends several years ago. One of them informed me that where he lived rats had got a hold of the scarf and had to be thrown out. I am making the scarf as a surprise to send since he had mentioned the previous one so much. This was a Godsend to come across.

    Love this pattern!!! I have a lot of trouble with the beginning few rows and this was easier for me to get the hang of. I’ve now made 2 very long scarves using this stitch and about to start a third! It comes out beautifully!!!

    I always got confused with the chain that I first worked into as I sometimes added the one on my hook! and no videos showed it clear enough until now 😊 now I'll always know where to start. Thank you and thanks for such a lovely stich

    Robin, thank you so much for all your recent help! As you might remember, I'm still very much a newbie and am still learning stitches. I had thought I wouldn't take the plunge on my first 'real' project until I'd learned to do doubles. But, thanks to happily trawling your other videos this week while doing my half double trial panel, and thus letting RUclips know what I was doing, this video was in my recommendations last night. I've just rewatched it and will get started on my scarf tomorrow. As a craft teacher myself, I truly appeciate the time you give to your videos and students. Thank you ❤️

    Gorgeous stitch pattern! The resulting scarf looks so classy -- it could go dressy or casual. I love the muted colors yarn (reminds me of RH's "Unforgettable"). Equally as beautiful in the "Ocean" colorway -- with or without the cream colored stripe! Thank you for a VERY clear, understandable, and well-paced video! 🏆🙌 ❤️
