I've had some comments that this pattern is hard to see because of the yarn color (and I think my camera wasn't working right). Here is another video of the stitch pattern used for the scarf pattern using a lighter yarn: • CROCHET: Half Double C...

The stitch pattern is a bit difficult to see in this video, so I made a tutorial using a lighter yarn. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/WePvef5Voos/видео.html
Thank you for a great pattern! This will be perfect for a baby blanket, no holes for their little fingers to get stuck in!!! Nice and thick for winter!! And maybe a scarf, or maybe an Afghan or actually, this would be a nice thick dish cloth!! Time to think about stocking stuffers!!!

Thank you again for a great video 🦋🦋
V beautiful
Thank you! 🙂
Thank you for putting the hook size on the screen, so many just show the hook and you can’t see it very well.
You're so welcome!
Good tutorial and easy stitch pattern. You might want to use a lighter yarn in the future. It's hard to see the stitches with such dark yarn.
I have done so! The link for that is in the description box below the video 😀
Great
Thank you!
it is a little harder to work in the back bump when you work with velvet.I have been trying to find a good scarf pattern but i want to work with the velvet.this is beautiful and is great for beginners.ty
ooooohh...velvet! That must be so lovely! Yes, I could see that would be a bit challenging as I would think the velvet doesn't have much stretch. But it must look so pretty! 😀
Hi, Great video...can the pattern be done "length" wise instead of "width"? Or does the pattern not work that way? Thanks
Yes, absolutely! It would look interesting with the pattern going in the other direction. Just make your foundation chain the length you desire, using an even number of chains, and follow the pattern as directed. Working the pattern in this way, you'll probably have a foundation chain of around 200 stitches, and will do at least 14 rows of the v-stitch. Enjoy!
Please use pastel or variegated yarn. Dark color yarn makes distinguishing the loops harder. Thank you
I'm sorry you couldn't see the stitches very well. I do try to explain the steps in detail as I go along. I see I could have shown the work better as well. Thank you for your feedback, I will try to show everything better in future videos. Merry Christmas :)
@@createandcrochetwithpatricia thank you for considering my suggestion. I just completed eye laser treatments and I'm adjusting.🎅 Merry Christmas ⛄
@@dcinrb8538 Oh my! Well, sending you healing energy too! All the best with your new vision...I'm sure it will be much better once you've healed and adjusted. :)
@@createandcrochetwithpatricia thank you. Take care and be safe 😷
Wasnt hard to follow ive just whipped this up for my daughter as its getting colder as vouldnt find a scarf i liked my question is have you got a matching hat pattern and what is the stich called thanka for the tutorial
I'm so glad! No, I don't have a hat pattern to match, but that is a good suggestion! Thank you for your kind comment!🙂
@@createandcrochetwithpatricia do you know what stitch you used please thanks
Can I make it using bamboo yarn?
Absolutely! You can use any yarn you like :)
I just finished the scarf, my first ever! Love the pattern! Question, one side of the scarf has 20 stitches and the other 28. The side with 20 was the chain. Have no idea how to do tassels!
I ended up with 9 half double crochet V stitches throughout the entire scarf. Did I do something wrong.
The last row of single crochets is done by skipping every third stitch to get the stitch count back to 20. You are eliminating the ch1 of the v-stiches if that makes sense. See 12:30 of the tutorial. Instructions for the tassels start at 14:40.
That is the correct amount...9 hdc V-stitches sandwiched between a ch 2 at the beginning of each row and 1 hdc at the end of the row.
@@createandcrochetwithpatricia thank you, somehow I missed that last instruction of finishing the last row. Easily fixed by adding one extra row. Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I can’t wait to use this stitch in other projects.
@@mariasullivan819 Perfect!
👍
Thanks again :)
I have tried this, but it keeps curving. How do i fix this?
It could be a couple of things...you may be adding too many stitches, so make sure the row starts and ends with just one half-double-crochet on each end, with 9 v-stitches in-between. It could also be your tension and I have a tutorial on proper crochet tension here: ruclips.net/video/PxAVTN_T3mk/видео.html Hope that helps!
I really like this but I can’t get mine to be straight. It curves!😢I think it’s finally straightening!!
If it curves along the straight edge, then you want to be really careful how you begin and end each row...you may be skipping or adding a stitch. If the fabric is curling, then it could be your tension. Check out this tutorial: ruclips.net/video/PxAVTN_T3mk/видео.html
Also, some yarns have a lot of twist in them and blocking the fabric once the project is done can resolve that issue!
@@createandcrochetwithpatricia Thank you so much for responding so quickly!🥰
How do you remember where you at on the chain 😢😢😢I keep failing on that
I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but this video is a bit hard to see the stitches. I made a new one with a lighter yarn and that may help you see how to do the stitch more clearly. Here you go: ruclips.net/video/WePvef5Voos/видео.html

I’m lost…back bump?////////
Each chain stitch has 3 parts, the two "v" stitches that face you and a back bump when you turn it over. The v stitches are quite obvious. Here is another video that shows it a bit more clearly. See the 3:06 minute mark on this video... ruclips.net/video/WePvef5Voos/видео.html
Lighter fabric - unable to see your stitches very well -
I do apologize for that, so I created a tutorial showing the stitch pattern in a lighter yarn. You can find that here: ruclips.net/video/WePvef5Voos/видео.html
I hope this helps! 😀
@@createandcrochetwithpatricia Very nice of you, I will definitely take a look. Love your channel -
@@lovetherain1712 thank you!
Hard to see your work!
I am so sorry, I do have the written pattern with photos that are more clear. I do try to explain each step in detail as well. Here is the pattern: patriciafentie.com/2021/07/17/super-easy-crocheted-scarf-for-beginners/
Please use WHITE YARN FOR TUTORIALS!!!! POOR LIGHTING & PIC QUALITY, hard to see stitches up close- it's all out of focus & too DARK TO FOLLOW VISUALLY!!!!!!
I do apologize for this and I have made another tutorial showing the stitch pattern with a lighter yarn. Here it is: ruclips.net/video/WePvef5Voos/видео.html
Her verbal instructions were very clear...I had no problem with this pattern, it turned out great!
Thank you slow life now :)
