protip for the calendar: you can make the grid out of lino, it holds shape a bit better and gives you more time to print as it doesn't suck the paint in as much as the foam!
Love love love the macrame yoga mat holder! If you don’t have a hot glue gun, lookup ‘macrame wrapping knot’...lots easier imo...and cleaner, personally always find hot glue messy looking when I use it 😅
Totally! It turned out really cute, just think it would have been better if she would have used knots to attach the rope to the rings. I hope they do that in their future macrame projects.
Mackenzie LaCourse yes! When I recreate this - I’ll be doubling the length of cord, using only two macrame cords...pulling the cords through the ring until the ring is in the middle of the cords, thus making four working macrame cords. Does that make sense? Haha. That way, when the square knots are formed, you’re essentially attaching the rope to the ring...making it impossible to come apart no matter what weight you’re carrying! ☺️
A tip for those who want to do the macrame project: wrap the long pieces around popsicle sticks or small pieces of cardboard so that they are easier to handle and you aren't pulling 18ft of cording through your knots each time.
Liked these DIYs. Especially the safety for running and walking-the reflective ribbon with Velcro was genius. A big safety concern when running or walking outdoors-especially in the dark-is to use your sense of hearing to be aware of your surroundings. Being able to hear traffic, cyclists, footsteps, and other noises is essential. Please save the ear pods for indoor running on a treadmill. Be safe, one and all. Xo
I haven't decided my new year's resolutions yet. I personally like to start in February, because it's the shortest month, January is full of new schedules, and usually traveling back. I have been drinking more water as part of it, and using a drinking app that reminds me to drink water and log how much I drink. I also like April for new resolutions because of the mythology around April fools day, and turning into a personal positive point. Equinox and solstice are good times too. Basically any time is a good time for a new resolution. Pace your resolutions too! You don't become a whole new you overnight.
Aqeelah Malone me too! I got a calendar stamp set for setting up my year at a glance and I was so proud of myself for not messing up the dates! And then... I realized not every month has 31 days 🤦🏻♀️ I had to glue the pages together and start over completely 😅

@@hannanator95 this is a leap year and I just did 28 days for February 🤷
Sure, I'd love to see what aps ya'll use. One of my goals for this year is to sew more. To get myself excited about my projects, I started a projects book where a paste watercolor drawings of the projects, fabric swatches, and write all the notes for the project. I've completed one project and have two more well under way. Happy new year!
More environmentally friendly, maybe? Though it'd be rough to find a way to write on the dates/schedule/etc. without using markers. If it was a magnetic board, then maybe waste could be reduced by the calendar being made of magnetic strips, and then using magnetic numbers for all the dates. Everything could be adjusted around when a month has less or more days. Other magnets could be used to paste on smaller notes with scheduling items. Still creates some waste, but not as much?
@@redvinesron I was thinking for the grid itself, use a sharpie, then when you have to write something use expo markers. I always do yoga with adriene's 30 day series in January and the mat can be so burdensome when you're pulling it out and moving it every single day, so I'm so glad you guys did the yoga mat holder, can't wait to try it!
Everyone is commenting that the mistake was that January 1st started on a Wednesday, which is correct, but you should have also made the stamp into a 7x6 grid to accommodate for months with 31 days that start on a Friday or Saturday!
i agree tbh... the overall concept was cool but it didnt fix the issue she had with drawing the lines lol.. u could just draw the grids in one sitting and then you dont have to do it for the whole year
@@peaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa that was my exact thought lol. To draw them all at once. A t-square could also speed up the process and help you make a larger calendar.
Could have made a stencil using an old cereal box tbh. Then pop that sucker right into the recycling bin after. But I guess a stamp you use once a year is cool too?
A little tip from someone who helped do thesis research on running and biking conspicuity with reflective material, the best place to put reflective material is on your shoes and the back of your knees! First of all car headlights are tilted to illuminate the road and it takes a car being real close to you to see reflective material on your back. Second of all your brain is good at picking up on biomotion which you can achieve by using reflective material on the pivot points of your body: feet, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, and wrists. Running and bike safety is incredibly important!
Thank you for the reflective ribbon/tape upcycle. I cannot count how many times I see people running at night or dusk without reflectors. This is super helpful!
So every physical therapist I know (sister, running coach, and the one I go to when hurt) all told me NOT to stretch before a run. By stretching you create tiny little wounds in your muscles and when running you make them worst. If you’re gonna start running a lot consider doing a nice warm up before running especially when it’s cold (Running really slow then very fast multiple times, jumping, circles with your arms for exemple). You can stretch after running even though recent studies are kinda conflicted about that too (saying it may not actually be an effective way to make your body get better faster) but everything I’ve heard/read about it says it can’t hurt. Congrats on the running resolution! I hope you’re gonna enjoy it!
I made the yoga mat holder about a year ago, except I used two old belts that I couldn't use any more! It's the perfect way to hang my yoga mat. I love the macrame idea!
The new background is SO AESTHETICALLY PLEASING!! Love it! Also if you walk your pets at night/early morning the shiny Velcro diy is a really good idea to adhere to their collar or leash so people can see them too! Never hurts to be cautious about that especially when it gets dark really early in the winter!
You guys are so positive and friendly and creative! I really love your channel! Please keep making videos! Also, I would LOVE if you can do more dorm room makeovers and crafts with more common household items!!!! Kelsey, good luck with your 10K!!!! We will all be supporting you!!!

I had some neon velcro reflectors that I'd wear on my ankles back when I rode my bike to school everyday, those things saved my bootcut school uniform trousers from getting caught in the chain/gears/dragged in puddles. Hated them then but looking back I might need to dig them out!
actually another idea for a kalender. that also saves paper. is to take a pictureframe with a glass or plastic and then make an unmarked calernder on a paper to put into that. and then use whiteboardmarkers to mark out dates and appointments. you can use different colors for different people.
just a little FYI value village employees may get 50% off, but they have to wait i think 2 weeks until they purchase an item they like. -- aka it has to be on the floor for that long.. or else they would just scoop up all the name brands before it hits the floor.
Kelsey, love the reflective tape bands...great idea! So important for ANY time you are near traffic! I dont like the sticky tape, either...prefer sew-in Velcro. Just be sure to remove before machine washing! Also love the little case on the caribener, but would recommend using super glue to hold the threaded part of the screw post securely. Becky, love the yoga mat carrier design...great idea! You could make a matching water bottle strap (adding a small pouch bottom pocket for EACH item)!
As usual all of the flips were great, but Kelsey, the reflective tape was genius! Not only for runners, but drivers also. I can't imagine living with hitting a person and having to live with harming or worse, another living being.
Those reflective bands are the best! I was thinking about making some out off elastic, but was worried a wrinkly surface would reflect as well ... solved, thank you for this idea!

Oooh thank you for the reflective strip DIY!!! I’ve been looking for ages for a removable reflective band that I can add to my coat and bag for work as I have a stretch of road to walk that is very dark at this time of the year. But everything I could find to buy wasn’t what I was looking for. Now I can just make my own and make it the way I want it!! 👍🏼
One of my resolutions is to Diy more and finish decorating my new flat - has been two months I've moved in and I've researched everything I want and need but need to take slowly because the budget is tight 🙂
Kelsey, the white and blue combination of your tops brings out your blue eyes so beautifully! my new year's resolution is to share with people whenever i like something they do or wear or create etc, so here goes. also, loved the video (as always). thank you to both of you and everyone in the team for putting in so much work and effort. i always really enjoy when your videos are longer :)
About running clothes... I have always found my jackets and sweaters etc. with reflections but if you want to add there's a reflective tape you can get from the craft store that you simply just tape on. ;) Great for bags and such. ;)
I’m currently covered in paint from painting my most recent DIY (basically an indoor swing lol). Well, from priming it. I’ll be painting it tomorrow! So lovely I can watch this as I’m scrubbing paint off :D
16:23 it's also called a Solomon Stitch/weave. It's a stitch that's used a lot in paracord bracelets. If you wanna make a different kind of knot just look up some paracord bracelet tutorials and apply them to this diy ♡
Both your resolutions were really good! I freaking love the macrame yoga mat strap, and was just thinking I needed a better way to store my mat since it keeps slouching and curling into itself, so thank you!! And those reflective bands are so awesome! I love simple safety!
You can also just paint the squares that you need for that month! So for example if the 1st of January started on a Wednesday you'd paint online from the 3rd grid :) it would look cleaner and less full!
The reflection ribbon was cool but you can literally buy premade cuffs for super cheap anyway. In the uk you can get a whole set of key rings, leg and arm cuffs and a sash for a pound so diy isn't really necessary to go through that whole DIY process 🤷🏼♀️
i think kelsey is trying to buy 2nd hand stuff for year or something but i have a tip! if you have a platos closet in canada definitely go there. they accept mostly brand name stuff so you don’t have to search! they have brands from marshall’s to lululemon!
I’m definitely going to make that macrame holder! I have sooo many cute blankets that i don’t always want to have out and don’t have a ton of space to store them so now i can hang them on the walls with the holders!!
You know, I’m twice your age but I genuinely LOVE your videos. I’m learning so much and I’m constantly being inspired and motivated to do things. Thank You, Ladies. Love to you both from England. xxx
I think for the First DIY you should have made a frame with Squares in them, like a calendar, that goes over the paper, so all you have to do is write in side of the squares and once you are done pull the paper down and tear it off, so it’s like a frame that you feed the paper roll into , you would never have to stamp or draw out months, and if you mess up like you did in January, you would just pull the paper down, tear it off and start January again with out having to worry about the pre-made stamped months, I really hope this made sense !!!!
Instead of a stamp, you could have built a thin calendar grid out of wood to place on the wall between the roller and tear bar. That way you would only have to write the numbers, days of the week, and month in the spaces rather than having to fuss with a stamp. Every month all you would have to do is pull down the roller and tear off the old month. The aesthetic is a bit different, but it would save time.
The new background is so pretty!! I wasn't ready for that big of a change yet thought lolol I LOVED Becky's shirt, it looked so good on her! Looking forward to watching y'alls videos in 2020!!!

16:23 it's also called a Solomon Stitch/weave. It's a stitch that's used a lot in paracord bracelets. If you wanna make a different kind of knot just look up some paracord bracelet tutorials and apply them to this diy ♡
“The DIY that could save a life “!
I love you guys
Congrats for the 10 years! Let’s hit 2 million!!!
These DIYS are insane!! Keep up the good work. Y’all keep getting better 💖
i think kelsey is trying to buy 2nd hand stuff for year or something but i have a tip! if you have a platos closet in canada definitely go there. they accept mostly brand name stuff so you don’t have to search! they have brands from marshall’s to lululemon!
I'm running a race in the spring too! Mine is 10 miles! I never thought about making my own reflective things before, what a great idea.
What an epic run shot and light reflecting shot. It looked like a nike commercial. Great job!
Yes the calendar stamp idea it just want I needed! I have the paper roll dispenser but haven’t used it cuz it’s not cute so this will be a life saver!
I’m definitely going to make that macrame holder! I have sooo many cute blankets that i don’t always want to have out and don’t have a ton of space to store them so now i can hang them on the walls with the holders!!
The editing and filmography is on point, so stoked to see how much more you guys develop and grow this year!
Most functional and aesthetically pleasing DIYs
You know, I’m twice your age but I genuinely LOVE your videos. I’m learning so much and I’m constantly being inspired and motivated to do things. Thank You, Ladies. Love to you both from England. xxx
love this comment
TheSorryGirls Shiiiiiiiiiit! I just laid an egg with excitement..... TSG answered my comment. 😵😵😵
Loved this video, thanks girls, Happy 2020, looking forward to this new year.
Super cute AirPod case, I make leather bags and use those screw grommets all the time, good tip is to use some thread lock so it won’t unscrew ever
Happy ten year!
All you need is to slant a few lines and sometimes and add the extra days. Or start the Jan with February.
You should make a DIY frame or something for the dry erase calendars. I have one on my fridge but i feel like it could look 10xs cuter !!!
I think for the First DIY you should have made a frame with Squares in them, like a calendar, that goes over the paper, so all you have to do is write in side of the squares and once you are done pull the paper down and tear it off, so it’s like a frame that you feed the paper roll into , you would never have to stamp or draw out months, and if you mess up like you did in January, you would just pull the paper down, tear it off and start January again with out having to worry about the pre-made stamped months, I really hope this made sense !!!!
really liked everything but reflective ideas the best! Thank you!
Yes, definitely do an "apps we use" video!
That tank top match up! Tight!! Also cute as diys, loove them. I might make reflective trouser cufs for my dad when he bikes ... ❤
Honestly, I love the fact that someone had to run behind Kelsey to shine that flashlight on her reflectors.
Lol, as soon as Becky said her NYR was to be more organized, I immediately thought of her paper scroll message holder thing!
my new year’s resolution is to learn ballet, i used to dance a bit when i was younger and i regret quitting, so in 2020 i’ll start dancing again
Love the AirPod case! 💜
The new background is so pretty!! I wasn't ready for that big of a change yet thought lolol I LOVED Becky's shirt, it looked so good on her! Looking forward to watching y'alls videos in 2020!!!
