Honestly I don't see how the first stocking holders were a fail.. You're perfectly free to adjust the colors to fit your own personal theme, but hey, some people just can't.
i actually really liked the original stocking holders too! im genuinely surprised people didn’t like them. they were fun and something I haven’t seen a million times before in other diy videos on youtube and they were cute!
Both sets of stocking holders are cute, but the first ones shouldn’t be considered a fail. You could find the second ones anywhere, which isn’t a bad thing, but the first ones are so cute and unique.
It reminds me of the Hans Christian Andersen story of the Steadfast Tin Soldier who is in love with a paper ballerina. Such a cute story! Of course it has a sad ending, like the original little mermaid, but it's bittersweet.
The stump is particularly great because it could be free if you have a stump on your property. I think it should be a bit taller but otherwise great. I would make ALL the dog figurines into stocking holders.
Once you painted the original stocking holders all white, I liked them. They looked great in the room makeover. However, these nutcrackers are so adorable! And they are perfect just as you've done them - with their quirky imperfections and all.
I'm so glad you said something! I'm a former Savers (sister store to Value Village) employee and I was about to leave a comment like NOOO we save it lol
I'm a bit disappointed that the purple Anthropologie notebook wasn't in this video. I'd love to see that reattempted, taking on board all the constructive criticism from the first attempt :)
The headboard was unique and creative and super classy. A fantastic solution to a functionality issue, and it looks awesome. THIS part of the video is the content that makes me continue to love the sorry girls. Loved the other DIYs too. I appreciate the positive take on constructive criticism and challenges for excellence.
I love that yall go back and make changes it really hammers in the fact that not everything is permanent and perfect- something youtube doesn't always touch on. I loved these stocking hangers too but think the first ones were so unique and showed so much personality
Love the nutcrackers Kelsey! Especially the one-armed guy. He reminds me of the little one you made over years ago for a table setting, who also only had one arm! Becky, you're a flipping magician with that sewing. I was all "...whaa..?" and then you flipped the cushion inside out and my mind was blown. Nice work ladies!! Happy New Year!
Kelsey, don’t doubt yourself or your style! You choose the colors you like because you and Becky have both proven your taste and talent time and again!!!! (But I do love your nutcrackers) And Becky, that hanging headboard is EXACTLY what I’ve been needing! Brilliant!
The stocking holders thing was a matter of taste more than objective fail, but getting to it again gave you more experience and I hope a fun time so good for you 💕
I’ve been subscribed for a while now and I’m not sure if you’ve done something like this and I just don’t remember, but I would love to see you girls stage some rooms or make some DIY decor for a toddlers bedroom! My son just turned 3 and everything is cars, dinosaurs, or cartoons, which isn’t my taste at all; my entire house is white, grey, and black and I would love to fix up his “nursery” and give him a big boy room, but I’m just not sure where to start since I can’t find any realistic, affordable inspiration. Of course I’m not opposed to pops of color, but as for getting the base down, I would love to see what you girls could come up with!
Yay, the stump table is finished! I live in an area with lots of trees so I think if that's the case for anyone else, politely asking someone doing tree work if a nice chunk of the tree could come home with them might yield some savings. The nutcracker reminds me of the Steadfast Tin Soldier. Also, the last stocking holders were not a fail! They were creative and whimsical.
I really liked the first stocking holders, I thought they were quirky. Tbh I think the nutcrackers would have been cute kept mostly their normal colors, but I’m also the type of person who likes the traditional red and green Christmas decor, not the new white and gold lol. Becky’s headboard reminds me of the type of headboard the blog apairandaspare has made several times! It’s a really great diy blog I love to read. And the stump end table ended up great! Seems like something that would work perfectly in Becky’s house.
This was an amazing video, girls!! I loved every single project. Those nutcrackers had a MAJOR glow up! & I think the headboard is going to help a lot of people because that's a common problem with bed frames!! Also, I died at the "It doesn't matter if both arms aren't swole" 😂 I love your sense of humour. Thanks for the content 😊 Hope everyone on TSG team is enjoying their Christmas Eve! 💚🎄❤
Here I sit watching this the day after Christmas and loving it all so much, I really love the log side table, I would love to find a log of my own and make one for myself, so much more affordable than the west elm one, I think the stocking hangers are so cute and much better than the first ones, even though I thought those were cute too, these are more elegant. I freaking love the headboard made out of the faux leather, those are really cool, and it gave me the perfect idea for a headboard of my own, and I could use any fabric I wanted. Way to go ladies, you came through again and fixed those fails, I think that's half the fun is trying new things and if they don't turn out like we thought or hoped then we can go in and fix them. Thanks again, see you soon, bye for now.
Your stump is 100 times more gorgeous than the original! Also these stocking holders were way cuter, not only was the white nice but I think the nutcrackers were just more christmasy and worked better. Amazing work!
You guys had PERFECT TIMING making this video, I have the exact same problem with a pillow-eating platform bed, and I was literally just thinking yesterday that I should figure out a headboard of some kind for it! Thanks for the inspo!
You could also add some tiny pieces of velcro between the headboard pillows, I feel like they would scooch apart overtime, or go back and forth on the curtain rod. But it looks super cute!
Got sick 3 days before Christmas- so ofc the worst of it was yesterday (the 24th) and today... needed to be cheered up a little and a new video from you guys does just that!
Those nutcrackers are THE. BEST.!!!! And the solution for the bed is GOING to be on the list in the new year- we have the same problem! I think I’ll add a shelf to that space as well (I built one for behind my washer and dryer- why didn’t I think of it for the bed!!?!? 🤯 Thank you for the inspiration! Merry Christmas!
Cute headboard! When I lived at my parents house their house is old, they got married in 1979 and moved in a year later after my dad bought it from a cousin. It still has the baseboard heater to this day but doesn't work anymore. I had a day bed growing up but then I went and got a big bed for myself and there was no headboard so my pillows kept falling down too. I just got a big box from work cut 1 side and left the flap on it. Covered it with wood shelf lining from Dollar Tree on basically hung it from my bed and behind the heater. Looked like a shelf behind my bed and kept my pillows from falling in the hole
To answer the question about what happens with the christmas items at thrift stores after christmas: at the thrift store I worked at, items that weren't going on the shelves had one of two things happen to them. 1. they were broken/dangerous/unusable, and were thrown away or 2. they were sent to another thrift store, which could potentially use the items. And items that weren't selling but had been on the shelves long enough that we knew that they weren't going to sell, also went to a different thrift store- and that happened with Christmas items once it was past the season.
Love the nutcrackers. Personally I'd have added a gloss or satin finish but cute idea. When I get a new place in a couple years maybe I'll make it a thing that the family all goes to the thrift store to pick out a figure for their stocking holder!
The pillow black hole with the platform bed is a real thing lol I’ve had one for years. I also had to paint pool noodles black and slip them on the sides of the base to save my shins 😂
The stump table was a winner. I liked your dove stocking holder but I loved the deer one. The man one was a loser; so It was a 66% win the first time. The nutcracker ones were not quite right, even though they were more in season theme. I think the penguin would have been better. Becky please let us know if the pillow stopper was a success in practical use.
I always get sad when I see a lot of similar things at the thrift store! I always worry that an elderly person died and their family donated a whole collection they took decades to collect 😢😭
My sister and I always think that too! She has a collection of a specific set of geese patterned kitchen wear that are the same as this set she had as a child. She affectionately calls them her duckies. She saw a big set of them today and was surprised at just how much was there before she realized it was probably some elses collection who passed away.
Honestly I don't see how the first stocking holders were a fail.. You're perfectly free to adjust the colors to fit your own personal theme, but hey, some people just can't.
I agree. Personally didn't care for the colors, but not everyone likes what I like, and should be allowed their taste.
I agree! I thought they were cute and quirky. I probably would have done a different colour but I loves the little accents.
I loved them as well, I thought the general idea was super duper creative!!!
Agree!
I thought they were quirky and cute... honestly one of my favs from them 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
i actually really liked the original stocking holders too! im genuinely surprised people didn’t like them. they were fun and something I haven’t seen a million times before in other diy videos on youtube and they were cute!
I think it was mostly the weird paint job on them that was the fail
@@experiencetherain I thought those colors made them super cute and quirky. :(
I like your guys’s stump better than the original tbh
Sam Shackleford same
Yep
same
same!
Totally agree! Their stump is way prettier!!
Both sets of stocking holders are cute, but the first ones shouldn’t be considered a fail. You could find the second ones anywhere, which isn’t a bad thing, but the first ones are so cute and unique.
please do how to plan a room! like how to put furniture around and stuff
Yes please!!!
Yes please
Yes!
Yesss
YES
I think your stump table is prettier than the $400 one
Also love the nutcracker missing an arm 💕
magalí 💞💞💞💞💞
It's like he chopped his arm off lol
$300
We love representation!
Ashleigh Sanders agree
I agree but it wouldnt be completely free cos you would need to treat the wood and you would still need the thing becky coated it in
YESSS! ALL THE DOGS!
Honestly that headboard is one of my favorite DIYs of yours ever?? Looks so chic and EXPENSIVE
that headboard is literally one of the coolest things i've ever seen!! I'm sure the new ones were crazy expensive!
Ha come on people .. the first stocking holder were super cute and original! The new ones are beautiful, but less fun for sure :)
That bed fix is pretty genius and stylish too! Thanks for all the great content this year, team Sorry!
Not my style, but your original stocking holders were still cute!
Would've loved to have seen that wobbley table with pvc pipe legs (that desperately needed more weighty legs) re-attempted.
Once you painted the original stocking holders all white, I liked them. They looked great in the room makeover. However, these nutcrackers are so adorable! And they are perfect just as you've done them - with their quirky imperfections and all.
First stocking holders weren’t a fail to me butttt omgah I love the nutcrackers!!!!!!!!
Don't worry Value Village stores the unsold Christmas items!
in big ol shipping containers at my locarions
I'm so glad you said something! I'm a former Savers (sister store to Value Village) employee and I was about to leave a comment like NOOO we save it lol
I love value village. We had them in Minneapolis would go there all the time.
holy hockey sticks - I can't believe I never thought to use office binder clips as fabric clips. Like, DUH. My mind is blown. Best Hack EVER!
Merry Christmas to everyone reading this❣💗🎄 and I hope 2020 is your best year yet!!!🙏💃🧡
elizabeth lucy - you too! happy holidays and happy new year💗🎄
I actually liked the stocking holders the first time too...just not the coral and green colors 😅
I think the paint was what threw people off tbh
6:58 WIG FLEW
Oh my god I love seeing you on other DIYers videos ♡
Lllmmmaaao i literally said "snatched"
It’s funny because I loved the original stocking holders! It was my fav diy from y’all for a while and I want to replicate it haha
I actually liked the old stocking holders and didn't think they were a fail! But the nutcrackers were good 😊
I think your stump is much more interesting, in both shape and colours. It has more character. :) Great job!!
I'm a bit disappointed that the purple Anthropologie notebook wasn't in this video. I'd love to see that reattempted, taking on board all the constructive criticism from the first attempt :)
They've already re-attempted that before
Super impressed by that diy headboard! Sometimes when you guys use that faux leather fabric it doesn’t look the cleanest but this was very well done!!
The nutcracker with the ax needs a cape
I would have put an action figure arm on him. A la Deandra from MPGIS
but that doe stocking holder was super cute!!!
I actually like the DIY stump more than the original!
I thought the stocking holders were nice the first time.
The headboard was unique and creative and super classy. A fantastic solution to a functionality issue, and it looks awesome. THIS part of the video is the content that makes me continue to love the sorry girls. Loved the other DIYs too. I appreciate the positive take on constructive criticism and challenges for excellence.
I liked the second stocking holders much more than the first, I think they look sophisticated but festive
(But I do love your nutcrackers)
And Becky, that hanging headboard is EXACTLY what I’ve been needing!
Brilliant!
so satisfying
The stocking holders thing was a matter of taste more than objective fail, but getting to it again gave you more experience and I hope a fun time so good for you 💕
As as I like these new stocking holders cause I'm a sucker for Nutcrackers I'm with Kelsey on this one. I love the first stocking holders.
“Weirdly round animals, but minimalist” 😂😂😂Loved it
Honestly, I liked the last stocking holders too but I can say I love the nutcrackers more.
I am madly in love with the stump side table. Very cool!!!
I love that headboard! I might just have to make it for myself
Love the first and second stocking holders 💗
The headboard is awesome! I love the new stocking holders. They are adorable. The side table turned out beautiful.
I’ve been subscribed for a while now and I’m not sure if you’ve done something like this and I just don’t remember, but I would love to see you girls stage some rooms or make some DIY decor for a toddlers bedroom! Becky did a room for her nephew a while ago!
Mr. Kate has done a bunch of rooms for kids.
Cool nutcrackers!!! Glad you saved the one with one arm 💗
Yay, the stump table is finished! Sitting here wearing my nervous laugh shirt enjoying these little dialogues in between the diys. Living my best life. 😎
Shout to Justin & Nick. The effects are on point 😂😂👍🏻 I cant imagine a sorry girls video without them !
Merry Christmas to you all AS WELL!! Thank you for ALL you do for us! 💗
I really liked the first stocking holders, I thought they were quirky. Tbh I think the nutcrackers would have been cute kept mostly their normal colors, but I’m also the type of person who likes the traditional red and green Christmas decor, not the new white and gold lol.

aw i loved those stocking holders in the orig !
I loved the last stocking holders!!! But I also like the redo soooo 🙆♀️
That headboard is a really good idea. I can imagine so many different applications and renditions in different spaces.
The new stocking holders are amazing. So much more creative and fun 👏👏👏
The stocking holders look great!
That pillow headboard for Becky's room looks VERY COOL!!!

The headboard cushions look sooooo gooood😍😍😍😍
Your stump is 100 times more gorgeous than the original! Also these stocking holders were way cuter, not only was the white nice but I think the nutcrackers were just more christmasy and worked better. Amazing work!
Becky did an awesome
Job on the headboards! Great sewing skills!!
that headboard is SO professional and polished looking! gotta be proud of how that one turned out!
You guys had PERFECT TIMING making this video, I have the exact same problem with a pillow-eating platform bed, and I was literally just thinking yesterday that I should figure out a headboard of some kind for it! Thanks for the inspo!

Omg I loved the Stocking holders the first time and also when after u painted them and put em in the room makeover!
Wow that vinyl pillow headboard is STUNNING!

I love the new design on the nutcrackers! 😍
Also, I didn't know there was a special foot for sewing thicker projects either. That's awesome!
Love love the DIY headboard!!!
I seriously love your brains! You are so amazing being able see an object and recreate it! Not a skill I possess
In love with the hanging headboard! 💖💖💖💖 Happy Holidays to you girls too👍🏼
I didn't think the first stocking holders were a fail, but I am IN LOVE with the new ones! ⛄❄
I loved the original stocking holders!! I feel like it was really unique and different than everything else you see on diy channels all the time.
I;m in love with that snowman stocking holder! so cuteee!
I liked the light green and light pink stocking holders. I like the new ones, too, but the first ones weren't a fail. 💜
Loved the first stocking holders too !!! 🎄🎄🎄
Omg I luuuuve the new stocking holders!!!

I loved the QUÉ? pop-up reactions haha
i LOVE the headboard! The stump is great too :)
Loved it! The headboard was the greatest idea. Really liked the final result. Can't wait to see the room makeover. Merry Christmas to y'all!
The headboard is amazing! So cool!
The stocking holders look so good! The only thing I would add is eyes☺️
Loved these! It's making me think I should revisit my DIY fails but I'm not sure I can face them haha :)
Hey Kelsey, I liked the 1st stocking holders better. Especially the deer 😍❤😍
Not a fan of the traditional nutcracker but I like the snowman
the headboard should have it's own video it's amazing!
Love the nutcrackers. Personally I'd have added a gloss or satin finish but cute idea. When I get a new place in a couple years maybe I'll make it a thing that the family all goes to the thrift store to pick out a figure for their stocking holder!
That headboard is a genius, and you make it really classy👏🏻 Really cool
Waiting for the bedroom makeover that coming soon!!
The pillow black hole with the platform bed is a real thing lol I’ve had one for years. I also had to paint pool noodles black and slip them on the sides of the base to save my shins 😂
The one arm nutcracker reminds me of The story, "The Tin Soldier"
Kelsey, you actually made nutcrackers look fabulous! I love them.
Omg that headboard idea was genius! So beautifully done too 😍😍😍
The headboard is soo cool! You guys are so talented😍
The stump table was a winner. I liked your dove stocking holder but I loved the deer one. The man one was a loser; so It was a 66% win the first time. People didnt like the stocking holders? I really liked them!
