  • We are small batch preserving, no fancy expensive tools. The every bit counts challenge has pushed us hard to fill our pantry and this recipe had to be added to our August preserving challenge. We used a mix of paste tomatoes and what ever else we have growing. Most of what went in to these jars was grown in our backyard garden.

On Garden and Grease we share our experiences with developing our backyard homestead. We hope that we can inspire others to use their properties no matter how small or large to grow their own food, raise chickens and live their best life possible. We also like making these videos so that all of our future family generations can see how we lived our life and see where they came from. In a way, through this platform, we can live forever.
We chose the name Garden and Grease because I love gardening and my husband loves cars, Garden... and Grease.
Thank you for watching Garden and Grease

It's been a long time since I made spaghetti sauce. You are correct it is an all-day project.

Next time I’m just going to do a double batch. Since it takes so long I hate just making a few jars. Sauce is the whole reason I grow so many tomatoes. Well, not the cherry tomatoes, we freeze those and just toss them in meals or dehydrate
