In the case of Geiger and Meri it isn't mercy as much as a suprisingly accurate depiction of how a coup works. You turn the lieutenants against the old leader to cement your power.
As far as I can tell, her dad was either the last Junker King or in the fight with Mason to become Junker king. Her dad lost, Mason was a total tool and kicked them out and now she's back for revenge as the only survivor of her family. Really interested for more details about the wasteland and the "feral omnics*!

I just adore any new "lore" and see into the Junkertown. It's such a interesting story besides the usual Overwatch hero and Talon stuff. Junker Queen is srsly too dang cool and she's such a fun tank to play if you have a good grasp on her damage intake and abilties.

They should've made her character design at the end with the crown either a skin for her or her base skin honestly. I wonder why they didn't use the Ult here as her Ult in game either. Something that picks up projectiles and launches them back in a storm that pushed enemies away would've been awesome
