    I have done some flow testing on David Vizards SF600 bench and all I can say I was impressed... I was able to get 266 cfm on the intake.. David ported them and we put some pretty big valves in it.. 2.125 intakes.. the ported intake volume came in at 192cc.. and get this 306cfm @ .500" and 315cfm @ .625" lift... So they have tons of potential! On my 393w they made 575hp on the engine dyno

    Never had experience with sve heads but I do run a discontinued set of patriot aluminum heads on my 393 stroked foxbody, and it makes all the power I need, I just replaced everything with quality parts but honestly I make near 500 horsepower out of my stroker with these heads. There’s nothing wrong with going with budget heads 🤘🏻 I have a friend with a stock 5.0 and he did sve heads and hasn’t had any issues and has had them on the car for about a year.

    If you plan on running an Anderson cam, you're going to want to change the valve springs. The springs are set up usually for a b or e cam.
    Throw the studs out and get ARP studs. The ones that come with it are China's finest.

    • @Winters506
      @Winters506 2 года назад

      I’ve been looking all over his videos looking for this comment. What springs would you recommend? The reason I ask is I’m running GT40 3 bar non P heads that are port matched with Comp 926-1 springs. I have a Trick Flow stage 3 cam installed. My issue is that every couple hundred miles or so I break a valve spring. It’s random too. Never the same one back to back, but it’s close to every 200 miles of driving. And I’m talking very conservative driving too. I haven’t been able to trust it after they keep randomly breaking. I’m also using 1.6 rockers. I was considering these SVE heads or maybe the Trick Flow heads but was curious if I’d still be breaking valve springs. Or is there a better set of springs I should swap mine out for if I were to keep the GT40 heads on it? Thanks for any advice.

For a street strip car its perfect at a much lower price than other SC. I know they are no Vortec but thing has done its job. Heads look pretty good though look forward to seeing how they perform.

    The exploder intake will be fine with those heads and the Anderson N41. I would port the lower on the exploder intake and open up the inlet behind the TB but I’m sure you guys know all this. Those SVE heads flow about 50-55 CFM more than a Gt40 general rule of thumb is +2 hp per CFM but that is subjective depending on several factors but in general with good combo and tune. Good luck fellas.

      I bet that cost you a mint. But beware the odometer doesn't go to 100,000+ it only reads in the tens of thousands. So if you spent less than $15,000 on it you might have 150,000+ plus miles. But that still isn't bad because if it wasn't ran into the ground it still will run strong. I have 3 foxbody mustangs and one has 260,000 miles and is still running strong.

      Has he ever done a gear change? Man when the 02 03 explorers were under warranty i did the crap out of 8.8s for ring and pinion whine and Trac loc clutches. Best part tho? Early on ford sent us whole IRS unit to replace and fix them. They all had either 3.55 or 3.73 gears. Well after we replaced them, they went into storage in the parts room to see if ford was going to call them back or not. After a big pile built up, ford ordered them scrapped. Yours truly got a pick up truck bed full of these units to take home and strip. You don't hear a little ring and pinion whine over flowmasters. Before it was over I'll bet I geared down nearly 40% of the mustangs in the Louisville KY area at home after work. Never had ONE comeback, complaint, or failure either. I sure miss those days (although I always reeked of friction modifier and gear oil.)

      @@jeremyflasch4079 yeah I can see that. I believe it would take 30s to feed a 331 or 347....but a stock block cam and heads car? Made 306/ 380 on a mustang dyno with 24s and never came close to leaning out.

    Those springs should be good with that cam. But they will lose a little pressure after several cold to hot cycles. If you knew what the part number was for those springs you could possibly find the pressures at different heights. And use that to shim the springs to get a little more seat pressure. It would be nice to pump them up to around 145# on the seat

    Sorry bud, but we DO care about numbers. Besides being an accurate measurement of HP increase, the ability to tune the car will get you those 20hp that would otherwise be left on the table.
    Since you've deviated from your original build plan, I predict you'll get this bad boy on the dyno at some point.
    Once that bug bites, you'll scratch that itch.
