I’m about 20 years older than you but we started our guitar journey around the same time and watching your progress has been not only fun but inspirational
Mad that these songs I grew up with are now considered “iconic” and probably feature on classic rock radio🤣love you’re playing and love your vibe. Keep smashing it🤘✌️
Great video, Def needs a part 2, a 2000s list without breaking Benjamin, slipknot, three days grace, my chemical romance, escape the fate, 3 doors down, kings of Leon, leaves so much to be desired :) the 2000s really had a lot of bangers
Yeah I agree, a part two that goes on for thirty minutes will break the internet. lol… I mean, if your gonna do it, do it full on all the way. Right? Ok, good talk!
Ten song's in under 3 minute's?!? That's amazing! You sound great as always. I can't wait till your next full length video so we can enjoy you longer. Always a treat to hear and see you.
This was just amazing !! All of them were great songs and we want more... Thanks for replying on your post at Insta, that was so unexpected but definitely made my day !!! ♥️🤘🏻🔥🎸
Rachel: Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! I am not a heavy metal fan, so I didn't recognize any of these, but Awesome is Awesome, as you have clearly demonstrated. Cheers!
This is one of my favorite times of music! Had many older siblings watch MTV when I young as 5! It's definitely influenced the music I like and play today!
Great job! Production is top notch too! You definitely inspired me to learn electric guitar myself as an adult. Just over one year into it! I had a head start though with some former acoustic playing.
Misery Business in particular stands out cause when i was in middle school and high school that song was everywhere paramore in general was being blasted on every radio station. I also remember The White Stripes being blasted on the radio at the same time.
@@RachelfGuitar Its been a long time since paramore has done anything and while they are still together I hope they are still making new music cause they just kinda dropped off the face of the earth.
@@qumartha.zanjani2846 Im glad to hear it, because I thought that the silence meant they were going to disband or something cause they just completely fell off the face of the earth.
Your progress is amazing, i remember following you a long time ago. Actually inspired me to start learning at the time, been on and off for 3ish years but i feel like i can play pretty decent but you are going places!
Awesome Rach! Definitely some bangers from the 2000s. Would be cool if you also did one for the 90s. I'm currently reliving some of those killer 90s tunes atm.
Man thats a great list. It's always so fun to watch you play and as always it's been such a pleasure to watch you become the shredder on guitar that you are and as always love your smile.
I see you're using that Cortek guitar a lot. It looks and sounds really nice. They make very good instruments, not only for their Cort brand, but for a lot of other companies. PRS's SE line, for example, is made by Cortek. I have one, and love it.
Guitar workers victory Dramatic end to Cort guitar makers’ fight shows power of international solidarity Ryan Fletcher, Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019 Unite has helped to bring a positive end to an epic 13-year struggle involving hunger strikes, occupations and self-immolation by Korean guitar makers who were dismissed by their employer for organising against horrendous working conditions.
Thank you! So I'm actually using the THR10 only as a recording interface here, using Bias FX 2 modeling software for the tones so I can modify them after recording :)
Omg Rachelf when did you hit over 200k I remember you when you had your 1 year progress may have be 2 year, but wow! A lot has changed over the course of time, good for you and keep the hard work
I was trying to find a 2000s cartoon Harmonica ost like Gintama's beautiful sad one but these awesome guitar riffs will do for now. 0:56 sounded like a Death Note Ost (Love Foo Fighters for The Walk) 1:18 started like Highway to Hell. The next one was like josstice League ost. 2:01 reminded of Rolling Star (Bleach) + iCarly! those were some well played tunes! Rock on 5.5.2023
Either should work! I like the simplicity of the HH now, but HSH would give you a bit more versatility. As long as you get humbuckers in some form you should be fine!

I believe Last Resort is played with "inverted" power chords on the top two strings, which gave it a heavier nu metal sound despite only being drop D tuning. However your way is still clearly recognisable.
Nice video Rachel! I started doing, 1-3-2-4, 1-2-3-4, 4-2-3-1, up/down/reverse to 12th fret, also alternating strings, it takes about 20 mins a day, I think it gave me speed for fretting hand, also alternate picking...! I try to be as accurate as possible and also force myself for speed. Have you ever done these? Or do you also regularly practice these kind of exercises? Cheers!
Great video! Next time, I would be elated if you played a Children of Bodom riff. Follow The Reaper (2000) and Hate crew Deathroll(2002), are some of the best albums I've ever listened to. They are awesome from start to finish. Although, Hatebreeder(1999), is my favorite COB album.
I've been enjoying it! I'm still a bit more used to the necks on my Ibanez guitars (really thin), but the guitars seem pretty comparable in general. Both look and sound great :)
Hope you enjoyed the nostalgia with me! How many riffs did you know?

All but the first one.
You have some spammers on here, Rachel.
I knew 2 out of 10 -- Chop Suey! and Sk8er Boi. Oh well, I'm 53 years old.
All of them. I miss my teenage years 🥺

replace kings of leon with paramore and that is a great embodiment of the 2000’s, i never would’ve thought of kings of leon to be in this list
