I have one and I highly recommend it. It actually has a bit of clarity like a D 18, that “bark” that I was looking for. VERY affordable for a guitar of this quality.
And now for something completely different: time sensitive first observations on Unboxing and hands on of new Eastman E3 OM DLX from the good people at Acoustic Shoppe. I don't put my Face on any Books so this RUclips review will have to suffice. Quite impressed overall, the guitar is staggeringly lovely, this particular one has beautiful markings/figuring in the ovangkol back and sides. Honestly, it is damn beautiful. Not sure about the heavy gloss, as I prefer satin, but it is clear and clean. But can it sing? Yes, a powerful and deep bass response, actually pushes sound vibes against your chest; robust sound with clear mids and precise high notes all the way up the neck. My research indicated ovangkol had the reach of rosewood, low to high, with more midrange and it is certainly not lacking, a very full sound. The C shape neck is a bit of an adjustment from my Taylor GTe, and more like my Martin D28; the sustain is long and clear, very nice, sounds like quality. The setup was very good, in tune right out of the box, action is close and quick but stiffer than the Taylor, same strings (D'Addario 12/53) so it must be the slightly longer neck, not sure yet. Again, this is day one, so things could mature as we get to know one another better. I wanted Eastman because of the affordability/value matrix, and I must say all I heard and read about bang for the buck turned out spot on. Buying online is risky, and there are dozens of music stores here in Nashville area, but Eastmans were hard to find in general and the OM was a real nowhere, man. I called around, no dice; I kept checking Sweetwater, Chicago Music Exchange, Reverb; I had called Acoustic Shoppe a week before, they were out of E3s; but I went back one more time and there it was, and I just bought it flat out before business hours. When they opened, I called and talked to a nice fellow named Tyler and he satisfied some latent fears I had about the process, the guarantee and shipping. The box arrived in three days, pretty fast from way down in the Ozarks via UPS. Package was sturdy and had some nice personal touches from staff there in Springfield (regards to Emily!), also a gift card and assortment of picks. The one disappointment so far is the gig bag; it does not give me the feeling it will be much protection, and the more I look at this beautiful instrument the more I want to keep it safe; shopping now for a sturdier case. Again, overall, very pleased so far, Day One. Rgds to Chapmans.

any chance they can make some e3s in the parlor as well ??? they do the dreadnought and the OM we need a more affordable parlor pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease
There is actually an E3OOSS, but its a quite different guitar, maple back and sides. It looks like a limited run China-only model. I tried one, played nice, very clear sounding, but tone was a bit thin and sweet sounding for me, though as you might expect for a maple parlour. ruclips.net/video/D2txyVYa1TY/видео.html @@AcousticShoppe

Incredibly helpful and entertaining review! I’m saving my sheckels for an Eastman E3DE

That guitar is crazy good. I can’t believe how cheap it is for the quality of the tone. Materials are top notch. Thank you guys.
How would you compare this with the E1D? More bass? More highs? Is the price difference in the Ovankol extra wood cost?
I'd love the answer to those questions too
Smashed the like. Keep up the Eastman reviews! 🙏👋🇦🇺💖
Thanks for watching😄 Feel free to like, share, and subscribe if you haven't already!
Great vid guys,,,would have loved to hear that Eastman played fingerstyle.
Such a solid guitar!
Great sounding guitar.

To our knowledge there is nothing in the works at the moment but it's not an impossibility considering how great Eastman is at being budget minded!

You probably glow in the dark from all the pollution in Chiiina.@@ZongqiDu-u7u
Maybe you could play the guitar more and be less verbose. It's a guitar review, it's not about you.
