- Today I finally was able to add my females to my new sorority tank. I'm so happy with how this tank turned out. I have a total of 7 bettas and some other dither fish in this tank. I have been working on this tank for weeks so seeing is finally come together is very rewarding.

I'll probably start with a single male betta tank, but I hope I can do a sorority one day, they're so cute!
Yeah I didn’t know a sorority wasnt beginner so when I got bettas I just did intense research and now I have 4 females together and they are chilling. Only one tries to jump and it’s only when it’s feeding time. But their names are Ziggy, Zara, Vanessa, and sweet pea

I got totally addicted to rescuing Bettas and was posting the videos on my social media and someone turned me on to this channel. I love it. I'm changing my channel from a guitar theme, to all aquarium adventures from now on.😅
I have 8 females. Though they're siblings and been together since birth. And they're chillin with each other til' now.

When I started my sorority tank I had my largest and smallest female square up and really fight it out for while. Of course I monitored all of this and made sure things didn't get to serious. But now they are like best buds, they still have moments where they can be a little nippy but for the most part they get along great.
I have really enjoyed having these ladies and hope to get more in the future.
The “break in” period can be hard! But after that they seem to be pretty stable
Wonderful betta sorority! I’ve been following your channel for a while and make sure to observe them carefully, I had six female bettas and I sadly ended up with four. They can randomly get aggressive and attack each other but with your planted tank I think they’ll be fine. Good luck!

I have my sorority girls all floating in their breeder boxes in their new home, they can see each other and they’ve gotten more comfortable seeing each other from the safety/confinement of their own boxes. They can now stare each other down without flaring 👍🏻 hope they all get along when I release them!
I done this with my male when adding him to my community tank, I put him in a breeding box to get him used to it 😊
I would never attempt a sorority but this tank is absolutely gorgeous and I love how much it grew in from the previous video!

i raised a lot (300-500)betta fishes before, females are not so agressive as males, if you have enough space, you need to feed them well, and enough grass , if they are hungry they will bite each other haha

@@Northerngrown_southernplanted none gonna lie it's bit a small challenge . I started with one half moon and then added another and 2 more crown tails. Everyone gets along except the first crown tail who is very territorial and thinks the entire tank is hers 😂. Just flaring and some chasing around but she hasn't injured any other betta. I'm upgrading to a 20. Gallon planted so I can add two more bettas with more areas to hide

I just ordered my first BETTA from Betta Squad USA. i ordered a red,purple,and white DUMBO HALFMOON.... he will be going in a brand new 20 gallon with 6 pygmy corys, 10 multicolor shrimp, and 4 wild nerite snails. You are very easy on the eyes, plus you adore fishkeeping....needless to say I SUBBED!
When your male betta had dropsy what did you do to recover him?

I do! I primarily post on tiktok, as it’s much easier to make daily content if the videos are shorter. But I’ve been trying to make some longer videos as well on RUclips!
PNWBettas I heard that you have to put different colored females in the tank. Do you think I can put the same colored bettas in a sorority?

I saw a video the other day and he had a heavy planted 40 gal sorority with 2 males and everything looked peaceful
First off that’s not a sorority. It’s choosing to put bettas together. A sorority is only female bettas. Second, that is only adding unnecessary risk. Studies have shown some benefit to communally housing females, but NOT males.
Curiosity here, have you bred them a lot? I'm only asking because I've just done my second spawn, I saw plenty of eggs getting released, but I can see none in the bubble nest... I'm now stuck wondering if dad ate the eggs. He does seem to be keeping a close eye on the nest so hopefully it's just because he's built such a huge nest that I can't see them. I remember the first time I bred a different male who built a tiny little nest, but the eggs were very obvious...

Do you have 2 heaters in the tank? I keep a 29 gallon in my basement and it’s pretty cold was wondering if I should have 2 aswell
It depends. Sometimes I’ll throw an extra in or use one with higher wattage if the tank isn’t at the right temp. Just go based off a thermometer
Hello...I saw your male from the above shot where he was bent in a s-shape. I rescued a betta female from Petco and she has the same shape to her body. I have her in my quarantine tank right now. She has long stringy poop and doesn't use her back end at all to swim. Her body from above is an S-curve. When she rests her side fins, her tail end will immediately float her to the surface. She will then be vertical(face down)until she swims back down. She is very alert and eating great. What would you recommend? I have seen lots of videos about peas? General cure? Any advice would be great!!
So the S shape normally is a sign of organ damage, and very common in dropsy. White stringy poo is a sign of internal parasites. What I did for him was a small hospital setup (5 gal bucket, half filled). I used a small sponge filter and heater and I medicated the water and did 100% water changes every day. General cure is what you want for internal parasites, and please don’t feed peas. Such a myth when it comes to bettas. They are obligate carnivores and can’t even digest plant matter. For bloating and swim bladder issues I would fast 2-3 days, let her poop. Or feed frozen daphina and do a few epsom salt baths. That can help with fluid retention and bloating.

My copper betta sees his reflection in the tank and is constantly swimming against the glass. Any suggestions on how to stop that ? Please any advice would be much appreciated
You can try matte paper against the glass, it can help

I am thinking about a betta sorority. I have 36g. bowfront aquarium. I have about 25 community fish already. Can I add bettas 1 at a time to the tank?
You want to start with a minimum of 5 females. They need a nice group to balance out the aggression between them. I’ve had the best luck with larger groups

I've seen two males in a tank before and it looks like they got along but not all of them do so you can have a bunch of females together anyways I like to git me a 20 gallon tank set it up for just a male and female
Males and females should never be housed in a tank together without a quality divider

Hi, love your channel... I want to try doing a sorority tank but I only have two ten gallon tower tanks. Can I do a smaller version like three females with two corys for bottom and maybe two or three harlequin rabsporas for distraction.?? I would also use live plants and caves to hide so everyone stays safe. Let me know if this would be ok as a starter till I buy a 36 gallon. Thanks, Teri @ TwinSynn
