    I'm looking for some good shoes to run on my local coastline.
    It has gravel and the gravel hurts my feet at times. My current shows are too thin and yes it hurts!

    Can I use trail running shoes for road jogging/running?

    • @rei
      @rei  Год назад +5

      You could but abrasive pavement can wear down the rubber lugs on the shoe's outsole, which can compromise your grip when you switch back to off-roading.

    Will trail shoes help for running in snow? I’m in Midwest and run on normal trails but it snows. Want something a little more safe even though I know it can’t do ice lol

    • @rei
      @rei  2 года назад

      As you've experienced, trail running shoes have great traction for rugged terrain, but for snowy conditions, we recommend adding a traction device (like Yaktrax). See what others in our community say here: bit.ly/3pySS0K

    And weight.... road shoes weight about 40grams less...... so hit the dirt and why do I have heavy legs.... (its the shoes)

  • @davecros4887
    @davecros4887 5 месяцев назад +2

    Also, because of the shape of the outsole, you are much less likely to role your ankle in the trail runners.

      True they just try snd sell

  • @nicktombs1876

    If the sole on trail shoes is "stickier" for better grip as the young lady states, then surely the sole will attract grit, dust and debris and straight away lose render its stickiness useless. I could be wrong but I don't think formula 1 type grip is really applicable here except as sales bull shit

    • @Duckferd
      @Duckferd 5 лет назад +2

      That's also why they're lugs rather than shallow treads, for traction over debris. Not all trailrunners are "sticky", but I challenge you to call it marketing bullshit after you slip and fall on a slick piece of rock in the rain.

    • @nicktombs1876
      @nicktombs1876 5 лет назад

      Pretty sure that on slick piece of rock, in the rain any shoes will be find that surface slippery, so what's your point?

    • @DiddeeBoy
      @DiddeeBoy 5 лет назад +6

      Lugs allow for the release of dirt, grit and gravel depending on design, and provide grip due to their protrusions rather than on the stickiness of the material itself. Quick release of mud and dirt from outsole is what makes lugs useful, since they can grab the surface better.

      I'd answer you, but honestly, you seem proud of your ignorance, so I'll respect your wishes and let you keep it.
