Thank you so much! I just applied and have been stressed about the health coach part...because the industry itself seems a little over saturated, and that financial commitment. Lol
HOWEVER...I’m really wanting to a solid framework for my personal brand/business.
I’m so grateful for this review, especially from another Black woman in this field.
I feel like I can breathe...so thank you, thank you, thank you for this review!♥️♥️
(P.S Hope you cook with you one day!)
I just started in the program this July. Love it so far. I am a nurse practitioner for 20 yrs. I have seen how poor diet negatively impacts the health of my patients. I loved your video. I appreciate and thank you for being so honest. I plan on starting my own business. I loved your insight on how difficult this can be. Great advise!
I'm currently in your exact position right now. I'm a private LPN nurse and after many years watching people closely and looking at their habits I've decided to try make it better thru psychology so thats what I'm currently studying and I want to learn how can I make an impact on peoples lives for the good with a better nutrition and a better psychology. How did it go?
How is it going for you? I am also a nurse , and really thinking of getting my masters in nutrition. I truly believe I can accomplish more as an RD than an Rn. But I came across this program and I am looking into this instead of a masters.
Great review, I'm so glad for your honesty! I'm thinking of enrolling and you're the first honest review I've seen
Thank you for your video! I am strongly considering registering with IIN in the next few days. I wanted to get a masters in integrative nutrition with Maryland University of Integrative Health, but found out today my husband (military) cannot transfer his education benefits to me yet. So, the thought of paying 38k on a degree on my own nearly made my head explode! I totally feel you in that respect. Luckily, MUIH accepts IIN graduates for advanced standing and lower tuition. I'm also in the process of becoming a certified personal trainer and fitness instructor, so I really want to have a well-rounded education with health and wellness. This definitely helped me gain some insight! I plan to watch more of your videos!
the best review i have seen so far i really appreciate it.
Love it! I am just wrapping up my course with IIN and I think it was very valuable to me! All I knew was that I wanted to educated people on how to feel better. Like a wish more than a place. Now I have an idea of how to make myself a voice. And for someone just using it for personal development I would recommend it to someone who doesnt know where to start on their wellness journey. Such a variety of information that although I was set in the way I wanted to eat, I saw so many sides of the story. I love your energy!!
Just curious, are you still in the field and doing well?! Thanks!
Great informative video :) I'm in INN started in March and loving it thus far :) Looking forward to graduate and start coaching. Thank you for sharing your experience. You're awesome :)
Julie the Vegan Hey Julie! Thanks for watching.
I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the IIN program. Let me know if you ever have questions about biz or anything once you get started coaching. xo
Thank you :) x
Are you still doing coaching? How many clients do you currently have per month? Are you still able to coach and do your cooking?
Hi Julie! Did u ever start your coaching business?
You have such an amazing energy! Thank you for sharing your experience with us! 🌟
I am researching a few different programs to see which company will make the perfect fit for me in alignment with my life mission, passion and purpose. I appreciate you sharing your experience and thank you for going into depth about thIs program.
Are you still interested in the course? I have a family discount code but no one in my family wants to attend IIN. If you're still interested let me know!
Thank you for talking about your experience with IIN!
My pleasure. Thank you for watching :)
You're welcome!
Thank you, it was helpful! Considering this video is 3 years old I hope you are way successful, and still enjoying what you do! As you were talking I found a couple recipes on your blog that sound easy and yummy! Thanks for that too!
Ive been following you for the past year because of your vegan content. Now I am considering INN or any holistic nutrition program, and found this video from you. Thank you for sharing. Glad to see this post from 2015 is still helping someone in 2020. 💜
BTW i would love to see an update on your personal brand and business in 2020.
I have been a subbie of yours and had no idea you went to IIN. I believe things happen for a reason, I went vegan a little over a month ago and since then wanted to start a RUclips channel about my process and moving forward. Then today I saw a ad for IIN and they called me to give more info about the program. Becoming a wellness coach was an idea that I played around with while obtaining my bachelors degree. To get on RUclips and hear you speak about how the program helped you so much just confirms my decision to enroll. 😊
I loved listening to your review. I appreciate your honest opinion and for sharing your experience with your whole heart.
Thanks for sharing and as a soon to be student I found your input to be very helpful and I’m particularly glad to know you’re still using your certification, keep up the good work
Wow! Thanks for the info! I really enjoyed hearing your story. I've been thinking about IIN for a little while now, bI love hearing both sides of the story. Thanks a bunch! As usual, you're an amazing inspiration!
I am considering the IIN program. (I'm Vegan too!) ;-)
This was very helpful! You are such a joyful person to watch. I am considering this program and this very helpful. Thank you
I'm curious if you learned specific methods for meal planning. I don't see it in the curriculum guide. One of the main skills I want to learn is menu and meal planning using specific theories and with specific macro/micros if I wanted. There is nothing mentioned in the curriculum guide about this skill. I'm not interested if the program is just going to introduce me to a bunch of theories I have already learned about. I want advanced skills in using and applying that knowledge.
Thanks for this info!!! I truly appreciated very much!!! Have a great day!!!
Thank you. I have been thinking of doing this program for a few years now. I am very interested in it.
Team Broccoli Cool! Please let me know if you have any more questions about it. It was a great course overall.
i enrolled in IIN for march 2016 thank u fellow vegan!
How to do you like it so far? I'm thinking of enrolling for May
+Vanquish Audio love it! do it dont wait great school
Thanks for your honesty..I was thinking of doing the program for personal enrichment but not really to become a "coach". Now I'm not so sure..
I am using my food knowledge with clients I counsel..food and behaviour patterns have a lot in common...I do not have the years nor resources to invest in something that will take all my energy to make it lucrative
Thank you for the information. Great video!
You are so earnest and open-- Thank you so much for your objective, insightful review.
Props and ☮️ from BK 🤙🏽
Thank you for posting this video.
Thanks love this video. I’m currently thinking about IIN program. I do personal Training and Group Training in Fitness. I want to get more knowledge and of course in getting more results for my clients.
I’m currently thinking about getting a Degree in Registering Dietician.
thank you! love this video! so so helpful!
Thank you for the video! Thinking about doing the program.. thanks for emphasizing that its not as easy as it looks. Thats how I felt after I graduated with my BSc in Sustainable AG. Just thought the job would fall into my lap cause I had the degree but definitely not how it works! Thanks for this though! ::)
Thank you for your honesty here. #helpful
a great video would be how you started to get clients as a vegan chef without the credentials?
Love your energy! Love from
california!
it's TIN Awesome! Thank you so much :)
Hi Joy great information, however you haven't been specific about, "How to get into health coaching with having a degree". You have qualifications in the field so what you are saying does really relate to someone like myself.
I have a level 4 diploma in diet and nutrition and I am still yet to find information that will help me discover what I can do with this qualification. My question what work can I legally do with this? Can you or anyone help?
I want to do this program. Patience patience finishing up my nursing degree first
Kali Elaine Cool!! That will be a great combination :) Good luck girl!
im wondering if IIN will be worth it for me..., because i will be focusing on a vegan plant based/raw food lifestyle to promote to my clients, at least as close they can get to that lifestyle, just plant based foods raw or cooked, but especially raw if they have terminal illnesses. So with that i am wondering if learning all these different diets will be helpful, i know they will be teaching alot of the coaching and business side too, which is helpful of course. I know it may be helpful to know more diets, but i wonder how much if i will be focusing on mostly vegan. I would love to hear your feedback!!!, especially as you are already vegan as well. I have been into health and raw foods/veganism for 5 and more years now. and just now looking into becoming a health coach.
what book do you recommend for new beginners in Vegan?
I thank your for sharing your experience with IIN! Because I am thinking about attending IIN to become a health coach to help eliminate Obesity in adolescence and teens and help people live their healthy best. Would IIN be a good place to start? Also, thank you for the strengths/weakness of the program.
Thank you so much for your insight!
Thanks for uploading this video! very useful and put some stuff into perspective! The older I'm getting the more I'm realizing that cooking is the only thing that I have loved consistently and would love to make it into a career! I'm going to look into this program! How much does it cost? Did you struggle with any of the coursework/tests? Can you do a video your experience on being a personal chef?
Eat The Plant I'm glad you found it helpful :) I would love to do a video about my personal chef career too. I'll have to put that together soon. Having a career in food is super fun. I love that I get to be creative everyday, and do what I love. I'm not sure how much it costs now. I paid $4,000. The tests were easy really. And keeping up with the content was easy. It was like keeping up with a fun hobby. Here's my affiliate link for the programgeti.in/1DniUav If you enrolled you'd save $1,000 on the current tuition. xo
Great review ! Thank for this ! I love your ig page !
This video was very informative. I was considering taking an online nutrition course through some Canadian Institution (advertised in the back of Vegetarian Times), but they never got back with me. I was going to take it just to educate myself. I just realized that I've been watching your videos for over a year now, Wow!!! how time flies. Your schedule being a personal chef, are your hours crazy like working nights, etc. or do you have a set schedule?
+Donna Banks Thanks Donna!! A whole year?! Wow! I so appreciate your support :)
IIN was great! The T.Collin Campbell program is also supposed to be great too.
My schedule is wild, but I'm still flexible. Not cooking for people much anymore. Instead I'm focusing on creating new content for Sweet Potato Soul, and turning this into my main gig because it is SO MUCH FUN!! xo
Thanks for this info
How much this program cost? :)
This was such a helpful review, thank you! :)
Beth Cayley Hey Beth! I'm glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching :)
Ironic that the ad that popped up before this video was for Doritos! lol
Good review! I am considering IIN. I work in Information Technology, but transitioning to align with my purpose and passions. Life coaching is one of my goals, but want to incorporate a spiritual aspect to it. Does IIN help with that? From your review it sounds like I may need to keep my IT job a little bit longer or at least do more freelancing before completely switching over. I am vegan as well.
very helpful information, honest and clear, I am thinking to sign up next Autumn or maybe in January but I am absolutely in! thank you friend.
+Olga Isela Perez So cool Olga!! Let me know if you have any more questions about it 😉
thank you so much, here is one question. They give you the hours or you can choose your hours. because so far I have only Mondays off. what kind of material I have to buy? so far I just have a vitamix and nutribullet? ;) I have to buy books? I am so excited to start but I know is going to be a lot of money, and my personal intention is help people, of course if I can make money is very welcome ;) thank you little sweetpotatosoul you have a beautiful energy
have a lovely weekend
Could you recommend it to me some books? I I was vegetarian but little by little I realize I am vegan and I feel great but I want to learn more. maybe you know some books I can read before start the program?
thanks again ;)
+Olga Isela Perez Hey Olga! You don't need to buy any materials for the course at all :) That's kind of nice.
Good books to read: The China Study, Starch Solution, Vegan for Her. You're going to learn a lot about nutrition and different nutrition theories at IIN, so don't feel like you need to have anything prepared.
Thanks so much for your kind words!! Take care!
+SweetPotatoSoul I signed up finally, I am little afraid to be honest. I will be starting next November 15. Thank you for your videos and I will keep asking you questions if you don't mind? ;) have a great day my friend.
thank you so much. you spoken to my soul. i also hope to be a PC but i wantes to incoorperate yoga a nd healthy eating.
i am presently a serious meat eater and was interested in living a healthier life. what advice do u have for going from meat eater to vegetarian or vegan. also, where can I purchase your cook book?
Hi
I do appreciate your in depth comments on IIN..Do you get a little bit of training in cooking the different ways?
Hi ,Great information.I am thinking to go in IIN .Did u got business material once u completed the course
What was the total cost? Did you have to upgrade your computer system? Did you consider other programs?
I've tried being a person chef and I never made close to $325 a week, lol. I believe you'll continue being successful because you got real skills and your recipes are really good. The health coach thing is intriguing to me. I think I'm more interested in the nutrition that the cooking part. So maybe I could be a health coach who cooks on the side, lol. Thanks for the video!
dodgeball693 Hello! I'm not sure of the current cost, but I paid $4k after a $1k friend discount (here's the link to my "ambassador" discount @1) I didn't have to update my computer. I think you receive an ipad with the program now. When I did it they were giving up ipads loaded with content, books/workbooks, tests were online, and we had access to the web community. I only considered Natural Gourmet Institute on top of IIN. The other programs, like the T.Colin Campbell Cornell one, don't include business curriculum and I really wanted that part.
Yes, you sure can be a coach who cooks too. These days I only cook for 3 clients, plus I have private coaching clients, teach cooking classes, and work on Sweet Potato Soul. There's lots of versatility in this field :)
Thanks for watching!
What is a one on one client interview look like? what are your goals in the session for that client. Do clients sign up for 6 months, once/month visit?
I live in Poland. Do you think that I can do that too? Did you meet your friends online?
Julia Bernard Oh, for sure! You can do the program around the world. I met my friend here in NYC. There are probably meetups for IIN in Poland as well. The online forum is really great too though.
Love this!!!
Thank you for sharing this info! I'm thinking of enrolling into IIN, but I have a couple of questions. Can I email you?
LivingLifeInProsperity Awesome! Yes, feel free to email me :) jenne@sweetpotatosoul.com
Great video!! Thank you for the information. I am currently researching IIN and if it is the right choice for me
+Kathleen Beevers Wonderful! Let me know if you have any questions :)
Hi Janey I don't if I'm really pronouncing ur name correctly . First I like ur video , secondly I have question if u don't mind can u tell me about the health histories what do they mean about that to have 4 or 6 health histories and the other question about the coaching circle how it works ? please answer me when u have time.thanks in advance.
So what made you become a personal Chef?
Would I be able to do INN and also do my regular college work? Or is the work load too much and it's just better to take time off from school to do INN?
Robert Castro Good question
Thank you for your advice! Xo
+Cathy Rios Good luck!!
this video resonates so much! i was planning on going to Natural Gourmet Institute but it's too expensive :( Im trying to figure out how to start my own business without getting into more debt. i am a great vegan cook and i have a lot of nutrition knowledge i just want to get credentials. what would you suggest?
+Cathy Rios Thanks Cathy! I understand. That school is far too expensive. I don't know how people take out such a huge loan for culinary school unless they already have that much money sitting around.
Start small, that's the way to build up credentials and confidence. Start by cooking for friends (have them cover the cost of food), then other people (keeping your rates low if you aren't comfortable with charging full price), then work your way up to full price. Gather testimonials along the way to share with future clients and on your website. Also, ask your friends and first clients to write recommendations for you on Yelp. Once you get your first couple paying clients they will refer you to their friends and it's easy after that :) Good luck!
Hey Jenay, although from 2015 this is so current and inspiring. Don't know if youre now to busy to answer questions especially form such an old post but here goes, i'm thinking about taking the course at IIN this year as an additional certification on my journey to setting up a Holistic Wellness Practice. I currently run a business myself and although I handle social media - I dont have much experience blogging, what would you say is the key to successful scheduling, engaging potential clients and readers and creatig smart and effective content that doesn't take a life time? This will be my first foray into wellness so any tips on what has got you to the inspiring place you are today would be appreciated. I'm now a fan and follower : )
I was considering doing IIN but was second guessing it just because I feel like the career options I would have after the program are attainable without doing the program. And also wasn't sure of the level of credibility. Do you think a successful career is obtainable without going to IIN and just doing good old fashioned research and applying dedication to my business goals? I became vegan this year and have a communications degree already. I am considering something to merge the two fields and help/inspire and inform people on the affects of food on the human body. SweetPotatoSoul
I found too many articles online about how it isn't credible and it drew me away from it. Theres other legitimate holistic health coach certifications out there if you look. Less publicized but I found a few that are accredited
Ashley Woods Hello! Yes, I'm sure you can be successful without doing this program. I needed the guidance and structure of IIN, plus the support. Of course you can craft all those things yourself, though for me that would be impossible. I'm terribly unorganized! Regarding credibility; if you're coaching client's one-on-one, and they trust your guidance and knowledge, and they're seeing results, you're going to be a credible source. If you put this certification on a resume to get a job at a hospital or something, then I don't think it'll be too credible :) I know some doctors like Dr. Frank Lipman, have health coaches on staff--people who've studied at IIN.
I love your idea! Keep me posted please! And let me know if I can help :)
LifestyleWithMe I share my ideas about credibility in my response to Ashley above. I think it goes both ways. Please share the names of the other certifications too! I have thought about doing the T.Collin Campbell Cornell one, or the McDougall one :)
Thanks for watching!
Did you get a business degree to start your business?
do iin offer diagnostics with their courses??
Can u get a job with this program? Like a full time job?
Working for IIN? For sure!
Do you have a discount code?
Are you still interested in the course? I have a family discount code but no one in my family wants to attend IIN. If you're still interested let me know!

Where did you learn to talk so much about nothing and then repeat it to death?
Who forced you to listen tho??
