My master plan was to become a Hollywood superstar.
I’m not even kidding.
But after a decade of the dross and disillusionment of Hollywood (at least in my experience,) I hightailed it out of there and never looked back. That story is a whole thing and may result in an epic novel at some point, but for now, suffice it to say: I love performing, but I do not love the industry…or LA.
But, dieu merci, Paris cured most of my post-traumatic-LA despondency.
Breathing recommenced. My soul resurfaced.
And then, slowly my career blinders came off, and new ambitions began to emerge - such as the desire to study holistic nutrition. To be clear… studying holistic nutrition and becoming a health coach was never in my 5 or 10 year plan. And if I’m being honest, the thought of deviating from my previous career path threw me into a slight “identity crisis.”
"Who am I? A performer? Or a nutrition expert?"
(Spoiler alert: It turns out you don’t have to choose.)
Anyway, I did manage to quiet my ego and follow my intuition, and in 2013 I signed up to study at The Institute For Integrative Nutrition, aka IIN.
⭐️ Studying at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition Changed My Life
It did.
There’s no two ways about it. If I hadn’t studied at IIN, there would be no Veggie Magnifique. I might still be floundering, desperately seeking purpose and meaning beyond my career as a performer. (And plus this would have never happened - bit.ly/2XoyW1Z )
Furthermore, studying at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition helped me as a human. At IIN, in addition to nutrition, you study goal setting, time management, self-care, active listening, entrepreneurship, marketing, the basics of financial wellness, and so much more.
And what happened is this - in studying how to help others heal, I, too, was healed.
⭐️ Why I’m Talking About IIN
I filmed today’s video because everyone and their mother asks me questions about my nutrition studies. Friends, acquaintances - you name it. (Plus many random people inquire about it on my old RUclips video.) So it seemed only natural that I share a bit more on the subject.
And the truth is, I love talking about this program.
So if you’re curious about studying at IIN (or just curious in general,) I hope that you find this video useful. As always, if you have further questions, leave ’em in the comments section!
So let’s spell it out, shall we? The ins and outs, and ups and downs of studying at IIN.
Have I entirely relinquished my goals of being a Hollywood superstar?
Let’s put it this way… if being a superstar means I’m adding as much value to this world as I possibly can, then: Heck yeah. Bring it. (But just leave out the Hollywood part, you feel me?)
Here’s to holistic wellness,
xo

I hope that you find this video useful! If you have any further Qs, just let me know. And if you do decide to study at IIN, I'm soooooo excited for you! 💙
Would you recommand a book on holistic nutrition (english or frensh)? I fear I won't take the time to make courses but I am really interrested in this topic
@@duchesse7713 Hmmm... it's tricky to think of a book that covers EVERYTHING like IIN does. You have lots of books that speak almost exclusively about nutrition, and then other ones that are more lifestyle-y + recipes. Here's a link to some of my fave books: veggiemagnifique.com/books/ Oh, and come to think of it, the guy who started IIN does have a book on the market: amzn.to/33tXWJ3 that I think I read in the beginning of my studies, though the book cover has been altered a bit so I'm not entirely sure. Just remember that reading one book is WHOLE lot different than following a year-long course. Hope that helps.💙
@@VeggieMagnifique thank you so much for your reply! ;)
I am soooooo interested in this but nervous to jump in!
@@channingparker2692 I understand your nerves! I would do the sample class and check out the curriculum (above) to see if you think it's for you! For me, it was the best decision ever. Hope that helps. 💙
I started the health life coaching program last month with IIN...I totally love it!!! and Im grateful because they have the program in Spanish too :)
My graduación will be in August🙌
Me encantaaaaa! So happy for you!

Ahhh! You explained it all so well. Thank you!! So helpful!! 🙌🏽
Oh, I'm so glad you think so! Thank you! And thanks for telling me so. Sending you all the best. 💙
Your video was very informative and straight to the point. Thank you very much for the pros and cons of this IIN. I might really consider doing the course. I am highly interested in holistic nutrition. The whole spectrum. The part about them coaching you about business also is what really drew me in. Something I definitely need help with.
So glad that you found this video helpful. That makes my day! And YES! The business coaching was so helpful - that was one of my favorite parts. Sending you all the best.
This video is truly helpful (and beautifully made!), thank you :)
Thank you so so much for saying this! I'm so glad that you found it helpful and beautiful. 💙
I just enrolled! So excited❤

Thank you so much for your time and information 🕉
You're so welcome. :)
Thank you for sharing this information. I'm thinking about applying for IIN and possibly becoming a health coach myself.
Amazing! You're so welcome, and best of luck to you in your journey. Let me know if you have an Qs!
Awesome thank you. I want to learn more. This is calling my name !
Great! Check out the sample course etc. with the links above and see if it speaks to you!
Relevant tips..appreciate much
So glad! Thanks for letting me know.
Beautiful vlog
I had 2 stroke I am insulin resistance I work on my body tonlower my sugar I got it down a smidgen but doctor didn't seem to care jump on next thing cholesterol it was high also blood pressure. Not offering my a choice to go holistic food choice way he next thing ran to write a high dose drug statin my husband was on statin for 30 years plus other pills didn't help him he died 2020 not going out that way so looking deeper into the holistic way 😊Ronnie Lynn from Pennsylvania
so what can you do as holistic nutrionist? can you provide meal plans?
Thank you for the informative video. Has the mobile app improved or do you recommend using the computer instead, to go through the course?
I did it on my iPad for the bigger screen because at the time you couldn't do it on a computer. I'd always opt for a larger screen myself, but you have to go with what works for you! Hope that helps!
I'm about to join IIN coach training program.
That is so exciting! Let me know if you have any questions! :)
Do you get any type of compensation if anyone mentions your name as who referred them to IIN?
I greatly appreciate your input on IIN. I am considering the cert now. I have a question; if I've been self engaged with nutrition and living a healthy and active lifestyle for, damn, well over ten years, how much time will I need to spend each week in study? There is a tremendous difference between 6mo and a year! Thanks VM
You glad you enjoyed the video. I would say it's less about you knowing a lot about nutrition, and more about your study skills. At the time when I did the course, I did a year, and it took me about four hours a week. Hope this helps and hope you end up studying at IIN!
IIN is now lifetime access!!!
Seriously!? That's such good news!
After completion of the IIN course are you a certified health coach? Or do you just receive a certificate of completion? Thanks :)
Hi Lizzie! After completion of the course, you are indeed a health coach, with a certificate, and you can totally work as a health coach. (Midway through the course you get a preliminary certificate that actually you allows you to start working if you so choose.) After you finish the course, there are other certifications that you can apply for (and pay for.) Hope this helps!
Anyone can be a “health coach”
Do you get any compensation if someone mentions you referred them, when they join IIN?
Hi Stephanie! Yes! As I stated in the description box, this is an affiliate link. It's a wonderful way for me to promote something I stand behind, and introduce the program to people who might not otherwise have heard of the program, and I get a small percentage! It has been a wonderful partnership!
It’s about $400. Check out my experience with IIN as well❤️
What is the prerequisite for this course?
There isn't a prerequisite! Just a desire to learn everything about holistic nutrition!
What is wrong with bone broth?
Hi there! So glad you love Jane Eyre. It was one of my favorite books that I read in all of high school -- if not my favorite. So, there are many things wrong with bone broth, but I'll invite you not to take my word for it! Here's some reading on the topic, based on science.
- Concerns about bone broth: nutritionfacts.org/2018/12/06/concerns-about-bone-broth/
- Lead contamination in bone broth: nutritionfacts.org/video/lead-contamination-bone-broth/
And thanks for saying that my content is refreshing! Though, apparently, that comment got deleted. All the best to you.
@@VeggieMagnifique thanks :)
@@janeEyreAddict Bone Broth is good for you if you get it from grass-fed cows. Bone broth made a vast improvement in my life. Vegans think eating like a gerbil is good for your health. Don't listen to her meat is optimal for the human diet.
Lol you sound like Mandy Moore. Thanks for the info!
HA! I've never heard that before, but I like it. Thanks! (And you're welcome. Hope the info was helpful!)
@@VeggieMagnifique thank you! Your video was nice and helpful but I’m also super confused (not because of you just in general). But thank you. Glad it’s all worked out for you 💞
@@Shawnamarie7 I *totally* get it. Let me know if you have any further questions and best of luck to you. 💙
How do you make money from this?
You become a health coach and have clients. IIN recommends doing a 6-month program, where you would have twice monthly coaching sessions. Your clients would pay you for the coaching program. During the training they talk all about pricing and marketing and how to go about this. Hope this helps!
@@VeggieMagnifique thank you. It does
8:46 Great informative video, but this is where you lost me, calling any dietary regime that is not vegan “dubious”. Or that you wouldn’t necessarily adhere to it if you had a client whose dietary regime includes animal products..which I find odd because in the beginning you note bio individuality.
This implies that you understand there's no one-size-fits-all approach to health and nutrition. Hopefully i’m misunderstanding you here, but otherwise I enjoyed the video, with the exception being that comment. We’re all unique in our biological makeup and requirements - there is space for all.
Anyone can call themselves at health coach 😂 however you can’t call yourself a Registered Nutrition.
Because they go by food pyramid guide lined which is severely outdated.
