I cant find the fract node in blender 3.6. I thought of using Fraction instead but it doesn't seem to have a separate slider left below to adjust the value so im wondering if its the same thing
Hey I bought your pack! Is this possible to transfer into Unity somehow? Could you bake the texture and export the maps for it or is it not possible? Thanks!
I have followed thr tutorial all the way through and my material looks absolutely nothing like how yours does, and I'm confused. My model's still black and white, with harsh halftone patterns and lines. I don't know where I went wrong.
Hey great tutorial but I cannot find a substitute for the fract part of the math node, the closest I could get was the Fraction node but it has only one input for the value. Is there an alternative math part I can use?
@@mistlovesstarsThe halftones on the outlines of characters were all added in comp, but highlights and some "lines" weren't. For the lines, many are part of the rig but additional ones were added in post
not a bad tutorial. my one issue with this tutorial was how everything was sped up at the end and I couldn't tell what was happening. I like to follow along visually
hi, sorry for the late answer. it is hard for me to explain...root of 2 because we want the radius of the circle to fill the square perfectly. if you draw it on paper you will see a way to calculate this. pythagoras gives us root of two in this case.
Hey man, just discovered your channel after someone name dropped your Twitter channel on another Blender channel, I’ve been trying to figure out how to generate basic shape patterns with the nodes like lines, circles, squares etc and then combine them into more complex shapes sort of how like substance designer works and you seem to have figured it out already, would love to see some more tutorials on this kind of thing.
amazing guide but i get so stuck on the last part after color mix and plug in to everything ii just have the lines only am i supposed to add a texture before or something ?
okay so i didnt add the textures when you did and when i plug the mix color add node to the main shader I cant change the base color and the only shadder that shows on the model is the lines, is there any way to fix this or am i missin a few steps im pretty new to this but want to learn
Don't know if anyone else has this problem, but when I set up an image texture to the grouped colorramps- I get odd color separation and not a smooth overlay with the image texture and the RGB separate colorramps. any advice why the image texure isn't coming through?
Can you explain what we have to do when we do want this effect but without having to put an image texture please? I’m sure it’s easy but it’s really frustrating to not even being able to change the base color of the material. 😅
Instead of multiplying the texture, you could multiply your shaders color information. But before doing that, you need to convert it with a ShaderToRGB node.
There are some usefull tips, thanks! But screen-space conception under dots and stripes doesn't feel right for me. Reminds me behaviour of noise pattern from undersampled Cycles animation with disabled "animated seed". From the movie trailers it looked like pattern was sticked to surface. Anyway, great tutorial, this is just my perception.
Hallo, wollte fragen, warum bei mir nicht schwarz sondern weiß sind ( Minute 7:21) Hi, I wanted to ask if anyone knows why the dots on my project are turning white, not black (minute 7:21)
I actually got the solution almost immediately xD (for anyone who has the same problem as me: you have to connect the gradient Texture(the orange box ) to the lower value button, not the first one)
sorry that i have wasted your time. i am aware of the problem. at the time, i wanted to record a fast tutorial for advanced users. but i have learned that most users prefer a slower pace.

Sorry for my german accent!!! XD
Thank you for taking the time explaining what each node does. Amazing!

Your "german accent" is no match for ruclips.net/user/HomoFaciensvideos #homofaciens ;)
well its English so im cool with it.

Ich habe so lange gebraucht so eine gute shader zu finden die einfach 1:1 so aussieht wie ins film, sofort abonniert!
Dude. This is incredible! Thank you so much for figuring this all out and sharing with the world! I love it!
Man, this is Amazing! I did it for a project I'm making and the result looks exactly like the movie's. Thank you sir!
Pretty cool. It seems that in the movie though the pattern isn't in screen/window space. It moves with the characters.
I might have to rewatch Into the Spider-Verse, but in Across the Spider Verse, the texture coordinate that best matches the film is camera.
I never truly knew how to use the shader in 2.8 until now!
amazing tutorial. I couldn't find any other videos like it.
this is amazing!! i bought the pack so i can understand them better and to show my support!! thank you so much for this! 😁

Same here bro and I can’t change the base cooler
This is gonna be so useful.

Really really great result. Thanks!
This is great however it's important to note that shaders weren't used to add the halftone and lines effects. They did all that in comp
i dont think so.

How can I put the shader on a model I painted ?
Ohh MAN! This is awesome!! Thanks for uploading!
As a matter of saying thanks, purchased your gumroad project for this tutorial
Hi ! thank you so much for this ! It is exactly what i was trying to do for quite a while now and it looks fantastic ! well done and thanks again !
Man you are amazing bro, thank you for this tutorial, hahaha you just made me smile big time.
Great work but is it possible to add alpha to the used materials?
8:03 just leaving a bookmark because i'm following the tutorial thanks
not a bad tutorial. my one issue with this tutorial was how everything was sped up at the end and I couldn't tell what was happening. I like to follow along visually
thank you. you are righ, this tutorial is way too fast. nowadays i would do it at a much slower pace.
what really happened when u multiplied the subtracted value with square root of 2??
awesome tutorial btw.
great question.

Is Dot size stay same? When we zoom in and out camera?
This is awesome tutorial 🔥😀🤩

Has this been updated for blender 2.9
God level ! may i know.. did you do sculpt it ?
It's called halfcolor heavily used in comics to use less ink when printing
Amazing stuff!
Does it work in Cycles?
Thanks for useful tutorial sir! xD

Why is it black when I invert it?
Hello, is there any way to export this project with FBX or GLB without losing these texture properties?
Which input method should i use rather than shader to rgb node, so it will work in cycles ??
I am wondering did you find out?
Dude god bless you!!!

Sir...is there no way we can do this is cycles??
The free link on your twitter doesn’t work
Fantastic!
Awesome
Awesome tutorial!
Does it work with cycles?
The pattern itself should work with cycles, but the shader to rgb node doesn't work. So you have to use another input method
Does this work in 2.79?
Could you slow down next time? You go really fast to where it's impossible to follow, especially when set to .25. But amazing job!
thanks... yeah, after rewatching it i think you are right. i will keep this in mind for future tutorials!
Sehr geil, Bro!
I couldnt reallly follow the tutorial xD
but this is a very good one, i use most of the time Cycles though which means i have to find another solution
i can't add a viewer node
omg tysm dude!
alright i feel kinda dumb for asking this but how did you change all three of the scale values of the mapping node at the same time
i to would like to know this at 4:24 is when he does it
Just click and drag vertically to select all the values, then type in what you want.
Is there a way to make depth of feild like it was in spiderverse
Look up techniques on Chromatic Aberration in Blender.

Change the Texture coordinate from Camera or Window to UV and then adjust the Mapping nodes to account for the change until you find a look you like.
2:22 you could have made 1 group with 3 inputs and 3 outputs

Can this be done in Maya using Arnold?
it should be, but i never worked with arnold.

I can't find fract in the math node
try fracture
