Those old-time studio orchestra guys were probably even more skilled musicians than most symphonic players - they could play their instruments every bit as well, and sight-read better.
Excellent! I love how the Berlin Philharmonic is not only expertly skilled in classical, but as well pushing their boxes to include new music and Hollywood movie and TV scores. Bravi a tutti!!! 👏
The original studio musicians who recorded the music for the cartoons never got their parts ahead of time. They sight read and had to get it perfect (within a millisecond) in as few takes as possible, preferably only one. Those guys had mad chops!
Tom's fishing. Jerry takes a circuitous underwater route with the line, finally wrapping it around Spike's tail. Jerry pulls on the line to let Tom know he has a bite.......Great use of The Trolley Song.
Lou Raderman, concertmaster of the MGM orchestra who played on the original recordings, used to mockingly complain that "...Scott writes some of the most fucking difficult music in Hollywood. He's trying to break my fingers!" Bradley's music is a brilliant synthesis of Stravinsky, Bartók, Hindemith and Schoenberg along with the American popular song form, from Stephen Foster to Gershwin. A most underrated composer, IMHO.
This is the John Wilson/Pete Morris arrangement, Great fun with the JWO at the BBC Proms back in 2013, and it looks as if the Berlin Phil are having a great time as well
@@MrRbjunior83 This arrangement was put together by John Wilson & Pete Morris. Yes the original score was written by Scott Bradley, This arrangement comes from eight different cartoons: Smitten Kitten, Sufferin' Cats, The Framed Cat, Cat Fishin' Just Ducky, Jerry and Jumbo, The Cat Comes to Dinner and Mouse for Sale". John did not have the scores for this and re-constructed this just by listening to the music. ruclips.net/video/kYrUWfLlYI0/видео.htmlsi=VgnDueI8aJezCrDD
A general rule of thumb in music for woodwind and string players is that the faster your fingers (whilst maintaining accuracy) the harder a piece will be. Now there are pieces out their that are very slow and very difficult but in the scheme of things the faster the tempo (speed) and the more notes in a short period of time the more difficult it is. - I hope this helped :D
I'm sorry but John Wilson is the undisputed master of this arrangement. Dunno how he does it but he finds a sort of 50s sparkle that I've never heard recreated by any other conductor.

Also the Berliner Philharmoniker under Sir Simon Rattle played the soundtrack for the movie "The Perfume" The story of a murderer in the year 2006. And the documantary "Deep Blue" played by the Berliner Philharmoniker(music by George Fenton)...great records I will never missed!
the violins are playing the most difficult thing while the percussion is having the time of their lives
I think the Flutes are also extrem fast and difficult.
pro tip : watch series at Flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.

It’s one of those pieces that makes you happy to be alive !

Excelente trabajo del compositor Scott Bradley, ya no veremos algo como esto.
Simply. Brilliant. Extra points for the barking!
I'm a noob, but it is me or this is EXTREMELY hard to play? Seems much faster and more complex than most usual symphonic repertoire.
This is indeed very hard
For the string players and perhaps the woodwind players, yes. But for the dogist, it's just the usual canine repertoire.
