Amazing! I've been looking for days to find what kind of music my new lil parakeet likes. She seems to really respond to this. Never heard such chirping come out of her.
I think its cool MGM like Warner Bros did not use canned music or watered down music. Used a full live orchestra. Something they could have easily done with their animated works.
If only I could find a modern Scott Bradley. My studio would hire him on the spot. Years of online search and listening to composers' demos... and nothing :( Guys like Scott, and Carl Stalling, and Hoyt Curtin were the real deal. As a Gen X age TV producer, I begin to fear we were uniquely blessed back then and we'll never see their like again.
Heather Ferreira Richard stone was very similar but sadly passed away in the early 2000s, Bruce broughton is able to compose music like this and Michael giacchino, he even did a newer tom and Jerry short
The man modified and greatly improved upon the most famous Liszt Piece, and thats considered the greatest pianist. (Particularly the timing or time signature)
but richard stone's music for animaniacs was similar to Tom and Jerry's music, he obviously wan't on the same level as Scott Bradley but he was the closest there's been in the last 30 or 40 years
Tom and Jerry is the BEST cartoon of all time! And to that off, the cartoon series also had the best composer of all time! Absolutely everything about Tom and Jerry is pure gold!

Cartoon musical soundtracks always made use of popular songs that a particular movie studio owned the rights to, which had appeared earlier in their legitimate movies - as well as various "themes" which audiences of the time immediately could recognize for particular locations (Paris, London, New York, Hawaii) or moods / situations (dawn, storms, spring, spooky, etc.)

right? and it was composed for a cartoon which is the strangest thing because it's a masterpiece
Well, this cartoon also happens to be a masterpiece.
What's weird about it even being composed for a cartoon? It's not like cartoons are expected to have shitty music.
I don't know very much about cartoon composers but what I know is that they are very underrated
When composers are getting older, their skills are getting stronger!
He's absolutely the soul of real Tom and Jerry.
