@@mariomj4535 Not possible since the original sound elements for MGM cartoons from that far back are 1. Not found, and 2. Isn't in this quality since it was recorded under the old Western Electric standard (film sound).
Wonderful music!!! I'm a total fan of the early Tom and Jerry cartoons and the Scott Bradley arrangements of the contemporary music of the time fitted perfectly.
It is a shame that these mainly CinemaScope sound tracks were never restored to their glory, except for one cartoon Disc 2 of the ancient DVD release. M-G-M would release Perspecta Sound optical tracks to cinemas back in the 1950's, and for that reason alone restoration work to preserve all Tom & Jerry cartoons would be plainly justified. Scott Bradley was a genius! An unsung hero of the M-G-M era.
Even in their original releass wouldn't have sounded this good since Perspecta was still a sound on film system. Though agreed on the restoration part. Sound restoration is an epsecially neglected for old cartoons.
For the dance sequences, a local Los Angeles nightclub dance team, Charles Lunard and Helen Lewis, "choreographed" the bear and Tom's movements (and filmed several sequences so the animators could replicate their steps in the finished cartoon).
In my opinion, this type of music is the true evolution and best of music in the modern era. Jazz, Rock, Rap, Metal etc. are sub genres that have their own musical glory but are not the true children of the classical era. This music however is the current pinnacle and best type of evolution of music that can only be composed by the best of composers. And it doesn't sound like shit unlike the compositional children of Schoenberg and their shit sculptures of "modern composition".
Hi, you mentioned Scott Bradley's timing sheets and the 120 beats, 1 beat every 12 frames (ideal animation timing at 24fps) - were you able to view the timing sheets? Are they available online, or anywhere? I'm an animator researching this method of animation timing. Thanks.
I have most of the more popular 'large graphic-filled' animation books published in the 1990s and there are many classic timing sheet examples in them. Carl Stalling used an electronic metronome. Bradley used light flashes on screen I believe. I went by a bpm app (and my count, as I'm a musician as well).
When I say 'beat' I refer to beats per minute in music - like your heart rate - and musical tempo. A conductor 'counting off' a 120 bpm tempo is considered a 'standard' dance beat. Don't confuse 120 bpm with 24 fps and 1 beat per frame of animation - doesn't work that way - just like in video with drop frame 29.97...it's only counting frames.
BTW, the classic NY studios (Terry & Fleischer/Famous) usually animated to a tempo and Phil Scheib and usually Sammy Timberg / Winston Sharples for Fleischer/Famous would score after animation. Scheib was the worst of 'em, but that was Paul Terry's fault.
Would make no visual sense, honestly. I began doing that and the edits were visually distracting. The only part of the score that really worked - as you imagined - was the sync'd portion near the end of the video.
You mean you'll see: "METRO - GOLDWYN - MAYER " and then "STVDIOS". It's a 17th century Roman thing when a V a U and a W were interchangeable... MGM wanted to show high-class, like the VNIVERSITIES of high standards, not like the sleazy Warner Brothers with barely a G.E.D. ;)

@@mariomj4535If it's a pre-1952 MGM cartoon, sadly, the original negatives were destroyed in a studio fire sometime in the 1960's.

Scott Bradley's zodiac is Aries ♈. He just want to spice things up. He's on Fire 🔥.
Crazy how they went from jazz in the 40s to a full orchestra in the 50s
Unforgettable music theme of a legendary cartoon.
I love it!

Thank you for this wonderful video! Scott’s music is incredibly underrated and should certainly get more recognition.
I wish we all respect our ancestors and predecessors so today's society can still have epic toons.
I’m glad you uploaded this because the original score isn’t on RUclips anymore😢
Part three is actually a song called "Dark Eyes".

Tom And Jerry 90s Theme Music!!!!
Could you also do ‘Kitty Foiled?’ Or maybe the recording was not made with the Western Electric Sound System in the ’40s.
