I love how the concertmaster is so timid at first and won't even stand on the podium, but by the end he was all in. He makes a good conductor, as every concertmaster should!
What a wonderful march by the world famous Berliner Philharmoniker Orchestra and conductor Gustavo Dudamel. Several years ago, I was able to hear an actual performance by this orchestra in Berlin. Bravo!!
Berliner Luft is my favorite piece written by Paul Lincke . Gustavo Dudamel was very good in conducting the orchestra and playing violin . Sehr Gut . Danke .
It‘s the annual summer concert of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, it’s legendary. People go there with their family, bring blankets and food and drinks and enjoy the wonderful music. Every concert ends with this piece, called „Berliner Luft“ (Berlin air) by German composer Paul Lincke. If you ever come to Berlin, you might like to plan your visit for July or August and go to this venue, it’s always great fun! 😊 PS: the place is called „Waldbühne“, forest stage. This used to be the stadium where Hitler opened the 1936 Olympic Games and held many of his hate propaganda speeches 🙄 But now, it’s a peaceful place for happy events.

Plus, the leader Daniel Stabrawa giving up his ' Bow of absolute power', to take the 'white stick of unimaginable power'. Did a great job. Thank you, from Brighton UK - sadly wishing sometimes that we were still in the EU....however, my son is flying out to Berlin this very morning 16/8! He loves Germany, & all things German, so I sent him the video of this fabulous concert arena:time has passed since this concert...Maestro Dudamel looks older then than he does now (probably the LA lifestyle) When my son asked if he could bring me anything back, I said “a can of Berliner Luft’ 😅 so it’s nice that this concert ended this way... 🙏🏻🌹🙏🏽
You just made me realize there's a guy in the orchestra (to the left) at 1:25 who put aside his instrument and stopped playing, and pulled out his phone to take photos
Not that common but It's always so fun when they decide to pull a stunt like that. There also is a clip of Ray Chan playing Bach 1043 as an encore but he, the conductor and the concert master keep switching parts.

Dudamel according to his interview started playing violin as a youngster. The Concertmaster did a wonderful job.
