    After watching upwards of a hundred of these "repair" videos, I am amazed that no one has thought that it would be better to clean the dirt and grime off of an assembly BEFORE you disassemble whatever you are working on. No, they take filthy parts and wash them in the same dirty gasoline or diesel fuel that is full of grit and dirt from previous parts. Do they think that they can get all of the grit out of bearings and passages afterward? If this work was done for free for the owner of the machine, he was overcharged. Crude doesn't even begin to describe it.

      I know man, These videos make me cringe. I work with aerospace components and if there was ANY contamination in our assemblies it would be so awful.

    I feel bad for the poor sucker that paid to have that done. Anyone watching this please don't hammer the caps into a U-Joint and when the cap doesn't seat it means a needle bearing is in the wrong location and has to come apart again to fix it correctly. Welding the caps on will just make the professional mechanics job that much harder in a couple days when the joint breaks and has to be done all over again the right way. I personally charge more if the customer tried to fix it first just because stuff like this happens all the time and I get stuck dealing with it.

    Why the heck didn't they clean the mud off the housing BEFORE they disassembled it?
    That star nut has obvious damage from previous hammerings. These sods use a hammer and chisel for everything, and are to damn lazy to spend half an hour making up a special spanner to use on the star nut.

      Washing bearings in a weak solution of mud, but only after washing all the other grottiest parts in said solution first! Just like it said in the manual! No wonder it's the third world. I understand there is no money for parts etc but for heavens sake look after the parts that are good and don't trash every bloody thing. First thing I said to myself was no...not the bloody wheelbearing with the screwdriver! Not to worry we can fix it with pliers! After 40 years as a fitter I thought I had seen some rough work...and then along comes U-Tube!

    • @keithammleter3824
      @keithammleter3824 2 года назад +2

      @@glennbrown1961 : And when we damage the uni-joint forks by hammering, and the bearings are likely to come loose as a result, we can fix that by arc welding the bearing circlips in!
      But what's sad is that the young chap is washing in what is most likely diesel fuel, without gloves. So skin cancer is very likely - and cancer is death sentence in Pakistan.

    Comments below point out so many bad practices, but watching people breathe in small droplets of diesel vapor as they spray dry bearings and such with compressed air is so sorrowful. Those poor people will develop lung issues and cancers soon as the human body is not meant to breathe in diesel vapor. I am saying this as I am sure not one person in that shop is wearing a charcoal vapor mask or even an external air supply. Life is cheap in PK land from what I can see. For all those below who say something like "great mechanics" I am hoping you are being sarcastic. This is cheap, bad, and poor practice at its lowest. Likely this repair will fail shortly after being returned to service.
