Что-то я не понял смысла этого ремонта. Если эта ось выполняет только роль балки, а не моста с редуктором, то зачем нужно было так заморачиваться. Не проще ли вварить Осси в трубу, или или балку, смысл герметизации данной кастрюли?
Дда просто заглушить по плоскости, срезав сферу дифера. А трубы и всякие "балки" у них на вес золота.
Благодаря этому мосту у них всегда есть работа!😂
Это уже не мост давно а балка для прицепа редуктор ное место заварено
Зачем тогда так тщательно заваривать задний отлив?

How well do those welds hold-up over time.
I'm used to seeing the welded area cleaned prior to welding to prevent the dirt from causing inclusions, weakening the weld.
Some guys do well....The guy in the brown work suit needs to lay the stinger down and go home..sloppy dirty welds
@@robertberndt5200 Other rebuild videos I've watched, welding is not done until the weld area is bare, clean metal.
If you take into consideration what that axial went through to end up like that, this half arsed job might last another 12 months before total failure.
THe welding rod is special fr use on rusty metal. It's been discussed on other videos showing these guys fixing things.
You have to realise that it is Pakistan and the men may be working for $50 a month so there is no money for genuine spare parts and everything must be mended as good as possible.
Hard to imagine the overload that caused the axle to split like that.
@@rosewhite--- I'm just used to seeing people prep the site down to bare metal before welding, which could be done there.
Thus I asked the question from someone that would be a subject matter expert.
I'd say that's a second axle on a dump truck or such. Looks like it backed into a large rock which dented the housing. Note the tennis ball shaped dent in the original. Driver probably didn't realize the damage until all the oil ran out and the gears either seized or stripped. Then the crack spread with load until someone took notice. I guess it'll run now without the second differential until the owner can find another one. The innards are probably shot hence weld it shut and use it as an idler axle. Despite the uncleaned welding they did a pretty good job of reinforcement to try to get it to last. Hope what ever bolts go through the eyes are long enough for the extra plate.
It's not a drive axle so there is no oil in it. It started out life as a drive axle but now it's just a cheep way to carry more weight.
@@Happy357mag it WAS a drive axle when it broke. They only welded it shut after it arrived broken. Now it's just an axle. Did you watch the whole video?

@@ronwilken5219 I did watch the whole video and it arrived with a solid plate where the driveshaft should go through to drive the pinion gear. also it was welded over the bolt holes that would have held the normal driveshaft stuff on. Thus NO driveshaft, also it was obviously there for some time because of the dirt and grime on it. So a load support axle NOT a driven axle. It was a drive axle that was converted to a load axle for whatever reason before it got whacked.

Работал со сварщиками многие так подгибают. Чтобы руку не поднимать вверх. А вот резак классный одной рукой режет на нашем по три крана.
Awesome work.......but a little advice, the diffs crack out because the gear carrier helps strengthen the housing. bolt up a old gear carrier without gears and that will help with strength.
Да там пустой чулок, мост вместо балки. А рвет потому, что грузить надо в пределах допустимого, а не столько сколько нужно или хочеться загрузить.

You must be an expert welder
Don’t have to be an expert to know that the reinforcement strip along the top should have been drilled and plug welded. Just welding the edges like they did makes it a largely decorative piece.

This is when you have a good skilled cheap labor. The labor rate my country was absolutely kill you easier more desirable just to buy a new one. Considered unsafe to drive upon our highways since it's a structural defect.

Zero preprep to wire wheel the rust and dirt from anything. How can these welds be trusted? Or do they break so often because there is no adhering to weight limits? So why weld and repair for lasting durability. There’s so many ????s that never get answered
I only have one ? Why don't you know any of your own questions. Look at where they're from, The tools They're using. These people are the masters of Fixit and survival.
These trucks are all used & abused . No such thing as weight limits, they load it up until the truck can barely move or until the tires blow out.
The Repairs they make are done on a wing and a prayer , these clowns know nothing about proper welding procedures know do they care.
These guys are half blind with cataract's and eye damage from welding without a helmet.
Ultraviolet rays cause permanent eye damage and burn the cornea. People have no respect for the machines they use and Abuse, to call any of these clowns expert at anything is a Joke. Metal fatigue is what causes all these failure's because they are overloaded beyond their capacity!!

I was watching your video when it came to me why that housing broke. In part I'm sure was overloaded but that's not all.. The other reason was because the center section was not bolted into the housing. Quite a bit of the strength in the centersection is built into the complete assembly so because that is not there it is more likely to break. Just a thought, a thicker piece of Steel across the empty hole would improve the strength of the assembly. Just my two cents worth or two rupees worth! Are all of the small shops owned by one person or are they all owned separately? I stand in awe when I watch what you men repair! Most of the shops where I live would simply replace the housing. I'm gonna remember your thought on the filler plate to carry the load the caps would, that's a problem solver right there.
Dowel pins and carefully laid out holes can solve all sorts of alignment problems

The welders sandals are different from machinist sandals, plus it's ok to chip away while squinting (OSHA) approved, also grinding without goggles are OSHA approved as long that you squint to the max. Other than that, the housing is strong enough for an 11,000 hp top fuel dragster. Just saying..............

We neglect the skills fabrication, welding, painting. We need to start teaching kids these skills in highschool again.

Ось для прицепа, заварили посадочное место для редуктора, шину надо делать цельную, будет крепче, точность не важна, мы тоже так можем но быстрей!

Конечно всевозможные технологические процессы нарушены, но мужики делают всё что могут, с тем что имеют. И нельзя сказать что плохо - главное что работает, хотя это всё временный ремонт, скорее всего, но лучше так, чем никак.
Если крышка дифа заварена, значит ось никак не крутится? То зачем вообще её наглухо заваривать, можно было радикально усилить пару железяк вида "рельс" заместо вварить в средину. Короче одни вопросы.

I've never welded anything in my life and just from YT I know there is a better way. I have a colleague that was a Navy Seabee who was tasked to train Afghans to weld and he said they refused to wear any PPE including the helmet, so at some point, they will fry their optic nerve.

Whats the point of this repair.. whats the axle housing used for.. cos it aint going on a truck.. Unless its NOT a driven axle, but then, it would be an incorrect part.. under more load than it should be. Hence failure.
