Can 1.6t gtc follow the same steps?
@@user-pt4om4st7i what gearbox is in the 1.6?
How long did you let it drain for mate? Also, were you getting diff whine which led you to do this? Do you also feel gear changes are now tougher using that oil?
Drained for about 10-15 mins. I do this once a year. When i first got car 2.5 years ago it use to whine as slow speeds when turning. Now since doing it every year it doesnt whine
@@tonyvxr82 I'm going to do mine soon with the same stuff. Do you have any local recommended garages to use for these cars? I've got a couple of things I need checking on mine.
@@untouchablekev I have use a few garages local to me as in northumberland/newcastle area. I use courtenay sport, autovaux for parts
Watch out for a rattle from chain at 1500-2000 as the upper chain guide bolt snaps in the head, i have just had chain replaced as this happened to mine, there is a repair bolt you can buy, this is a common issue with this block in the states.

@tonyappleby5947 I'll keep an eye out for that mate, I've had to put a new engine in mine due to a piston issue. I had loads of work done at the garage who replaced the engine, brakes, clutch, turbo etc but now have a clutch problem and blue smoke, they're disputing it's their work even though ive only done 3k miles. Need a reliable garage to check it over as I feel the clutch is 100% down to them and the blue smoke is down to a dodgy turbo which again I feel is down to them.
The video is great thanks saves me taking the battery and battery box out like someone told me I had to do 🤔
