  • A large splinter was removed from a dog's foot. The splinter embedded into his foot after running through a corn field. He had developed some swelling around the toe with a small draining tract. He was understandably licking the area. We removed the lesion in the exam room and he had lots of treats and extra love afterwards. He went home on antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications and did very well.

Did you give him local anesthesia or tranquilizer to stay calm and quiet

Hany ibrahim mohamed no, it was not needed. He was a very good dog and because there was a draining tract it was open and didn’t need to be manipulated to get it out.
