Fixing a botched at home neuter attempt
Просмотров 3483 месяца назад
Sometimes we see things that make us sad. This case started out that way, and thankfully had a very happy ending. Taking your dog to a vet for basic care is important. Don’t try to do things like this at home, it is abuse.
Huge mammary mass removed from a pet rat @completecareanimalhospital
Просмотров 9257 месяцев назад
This female rat presented for a very large mass on the ventral abdomen, presumed to be mammary (breast) in origin. This lesion had grown rapidly and the rat was starting to self traumatize (chew) on the lesion. We discussed surgery and ultimately removed the mass. This girl did very well and made a full recovery. Sadly we were unable to send the mass out for biopsy, so we do not know the cause ...

Prolapsed rectum in a lab puppy @completecareanimalhospital
Просмотров 3,6 тыс.Год назад
This adorable Labrador puppy developed diarrhea and prolapsed (pushed out) his rectum. This is actually a mild case, and this puppy has done well following his repair; but he had some minor repeated prolapsed for a week or so why we normalized his stools. Straining from diarrhea is the most common cause of a prolapsed rectum.
Finding a bullet in a cat’s face! Not what I was expecting. @completecareanimalhospital

Veterinary medicine is never boring! This cat came in for a routine exam and we noticed some swelling in its mouth. I assumed it had a tooth abscess and luckily the owner scheduled to have a dental cleaning with full mouth x-rays. We found what looked like a metal fragment hidden under the gums. We moved forward with extraction and ended up removing damaged teeth, a bullet fragment, and disease...

This cat was rushed in as an emergency after it was attacked by a dog. These injuries look horrific, but this girl was lucky to escape with her life. Unfortunately she has been permanently blinded due to a disconnection of her optic chiasm. Basically the cord that connects the eyes to the brain was stretched too far during the attack and there is no way to reattach that. So even though the othe...

*6-17-2024:* *This information is outdated and incorrect! I just got off the phone with Elanco Customer Support, who bought the rights for this product from Bayer **_years_** ago. There is **_NO SERIAL NUMBER on these! That number is actually a _LOT NUMBER!_** A lot number is the same for a whole batch of collars. If you call Elanco, they'll verify if that is a valid lot number, but that's as good as it gets. If you got a really good "deal" on Fleabay, like around $15 or so, you got burned!*

I just bought a pair of these on Amazon, and they both have the same number on the cans. That's a LOT number, not a serial number. Now I don't know if they're real or fake, but they weren't cheap! Now I don't want to break the seals unless I have some way to determine where there's an actual SERIAL number, not a LOT number.

*What brought me here, is seeing these very expensive collars selling all over eBay for around $15, which is only 1/4 of what they normally cost. **_There is only one logical explanation... they're FAKE, and we all know where they're coming from!_* *It's not at all hard to imagine that an overseas company that manufacturers the shipping tins for the real thing, also manufactures a whole bunch of extra tins for "others" to use. Americans are largely unused to American companies behaving this way, so a lot of people get fooled buying worthless counterfeit products or even worse, dangerous knockoffs that could actually kill or sicken pets or family members. Remember, if something looks too good to be true, it usually is! I'm highly disappointed in eBay to so blatantly allowing this to happen.*

My yorkie has clean back jaw break and he removed few teeth but said he couldn’t wire it bc of osteoporosis and thin bone . I just feel like something like this would give him the stability he needs . Should I try this at home ? Any help be great

BS fear mongering. Don’t give your dog a dose for a 1500lb animal and they will be fine, I’m sure there are lots of things given to a dog at 30x the recommended dose would kill them. You made this video as if they had given an appropriate dose and make mention that ivermectin is only effective for heart worms, however it is well documented that it works in treatment for roundworms hookworms and a myriad of other worms. You are misleading and just another vet that gives veterinarians a bad reputation because you make treating an animal a grand expensive affair and at the same time actively work to drive pet owners away from treating their animals rather than informing them how to properly treat them at home in order to not spend $400 for a checkup and 3 shots.

I usually buy nine at Walmart so i know its real. It's 2024 and the collars don't have a bayer logo stamped on it just a serial number. Price was about $70. If you try to go too cheap you will likely pay for it later. When i had fleas in the past it took 2 months to be sure I killed all them and around $350ish total. That was buying concentrated IGR, concentrated insecticide, 2 packs of vacuum bags (need to throw out after each time and vacuum every day or every other day), trash bags (for clean and dirty laundry plus protecting fabric items i didn't want to have to keep spraying), and 3 aerosol cans that allow you to broadly spray the carpets amd hardwood. (The insecticide was just labeled for cracks and crevice not to be regularly walked on) Don't forget to treat your lawn also because if you have them in the house you likely have them in the yard so you need to treat home, yard, all vehicles TOGETHER. $70 for a product that gets me 7-8 months of protection is worth it! Don't go with any cheaper Adams collars. I've heard of many more horrible reactions with that collar. Buy once and cry once. Just check your dogs neck monthly. My Amstaff mutt has a short coat and the collar will rub the neck and leave a mark. I just shift up the flea collar for a few days and it's all good. Nothing is perfect but I like this collar so far. Recommended by a friend who used it on there GSD.

My dogs kept getting ear infections and 'fungus' on their paws so they were always licking. I was told they were 'allergy dogs.' Now, after a decade, I"ve learned that the foods (even the expensive foods like Royal Canin, and all the prescription foods, etc) made for dogs are JUNK, and it's all the fillers, wheat, corn, ground up wood, etc that's in the 'food' that's the problem. Do your animals a favor, learn about what's in the food and then, you can either make their food or buy REAL FOOD. from a reputable company, Dr. Judy Morgan DVM on you tube has a lot of educational videos about dog food, what's in it, even about the latest (of many) tainted-dog-food problem (2024). The old idea was that table scraps were really bad for dogs, nowadays given how the food is pressure cooked (at temperatures that kill all the nutrients) and what I've said above, even table scraps would be better! Anyway, learn about what's in dog food....... you'll save yourself a fortune on vet visits for infections, constant llcking problems, thus keeping things from becoming so severe (from shaking head so strongly due to the discomfort of the ear infection) that the dog gives itself a hematoma and then needs surgery. ** Disclaimer: I'm NOT saying the real food will clear up a hematoma, I'm saying it can prevent the problems leading things to get this bad.

I wish you were in my country. My cat isnt well, took him to the vet yesterday. He have bleeding in his nose. Eyes have a red discharge Think its polyps. So, they did a surgery. And after hes making a girgerling sound Hes not breathing properly. Took him back and the vet try to clear the nose. Didn't flish out anything. I don't know why. After she checked his throat she dont see anything. But, yet hes not breathing properly. I'm so upset by the lack of knowledge when it comes to cats. In my country. I don't know what to do now. My cat is probably dying and this vet don't know what to do.

I wish everyone would stop using the word "spay" as it is a very broad term that can mean Ovariectomy , Hysterectomy, or Ovariohysterectomy. The canine in the video only needs/needed a ovariectomy .

I disagree. Since she has cycled multiple times removing the uterus and ovaries is important because she is now predisposed to uterine cancer. Removing both is just as simple as doing an ovariectomy.

What is your plan for the dog after this treatment ? As removing stones are not the be all end all of this.more just a bandaid to a more searous condition due to poor diet, poor exercise, and possibly to many oxalate in there foods and urinary track infections that go un noticed by not exprienced owners who want a dog but dont understand them. The fact the Struvite stones are that big shows a lack of care for diet and the dog in general. They dont just grow out of thin air. I would start givng that dog 1 tbs of honey mixed with 1 tbs of organic apple cider vinigar (with the mother). 2x a day He/she is going to need extensive diet care to even get rid of this just alittle
