  • This cat came to see us on an emergency basis for struggling to breathe. Thankfully we were able to intervene and this guy went home like a new cat later that day.

It's really nice to see that you watch out for the body temperatures of your small patients, even if they have fur. Anesthesia drugs can have a big impact in the body temperature regulation, no matter if there is fur or not. Good job!

I have polyps myself, that I want to have removed, along with the tonsils. Though the tonsils doesn't bother me much, the polyps in my nose does.

I wish you were in my country.
My cat isnt well, took him to the vet yesterday.
He have bleeding in his nose.
    Eyes have a red discharge
Think its polyps. So, they did a surgery.
And after hes making a girgerling sound
    Hes not breathing properly.
Took him back and the vet try to clear the nose. Didn't flish out anything. I don't know why.
After she checked his throat she dont see anything.
But, yet hes not breathing properly.
I'm so upset by the lack of knowledge when it comes to cats. In my country.
I don't know what to do now.
My cat is probably dying and this vet don't know what to do.

    Hello, everyone,
Former veterinary assistant here. Would appreciate a professionals input, as my cat is sick, has had a plural effusion, and sent out thoricentesis, xrays, bloodwork, etc and has had a constant nasal discharge.
What other symptoms was this cat having ? Decrease muscle atrophy, weight, continuous nasal discharge ? And what specialist would you go for this procedure, as i believe my cat may have this ??
    Thank you, greatly appreciated. 🙏🙌

After they recover from anesthesia they can eat normally. Please follow the directions on post op care that your vet sent home.

Same here, vet said my cat had a tapeworm in his nose, was only able to get just a rice size pc. out, he said the rest should come out on its own. That was one month ago yesterday. I took him back 2 weeks ago and they think it's a mass. His nose has a very foul smell. They just can't figure this out has anyone else ever heard of this?

It was suspected based on clinical symptoms and presentation. We confirmed it visually.

My Cat has asthma-like symptoms, she is totally aphonic (her voice always is just some harsh sound since she was a pet) she has reverse sneezing, cough, sneezing (sometimes). I'm pretty sure she has polyps, how likely It is that those polyps reappear after surgery?? d@@completecareanimalhospital

My cat has had 3 removed in the last 4 months and they keep coming back. He goes to get another one removed on Tuesday. Is there any the preventative for him because he’s only 6 months old now.

      Probably viruses are there...

    • @completecareanimalhospital
      @completecareanimalhospital  4 месяца назад

That’s very abnormal. Have a discussion with your vet about what he or she feels is the root cause, and to make sure that they are getting the entire polyp during removal. Some cats need advanced surgical procedures to remove these from the middle ear.

Hello, cat parents! 🐱 Did you know that here are four (4) risk factors that are considered to potentially have a key role in the development of nose cancer in cats?
These are genetics and heredity, environment, dental issues, as well as a compromised immune system.

Surprised they wear jewelry and watches in surgery, not even supposed to wear that in a restaurant kitchen.
