I would prefer a brighter screen like Go 10.3. I find the screen of NA 3C is a bit too dark. Interesting to see your comparison of the lighting in NA 4C vs 3C
Thank you, that's my hope. There are a lot of good voices out there, so I see myself as a piece of that larger puzzle. Hopefully all that leads folks to making the right buying decision for them.
I took a screenshot of the black pen icon on each tablet when they were on the right-hand side, and the NA3C's screen was actually barely brighter than the NA4C.. I don't know if they meant to say the screen gets brighter (because of the stronger front-light) but it is definitely not brighter on its own and the current wording is misleading. The black was also a bit darker on the NA4C and for both the "white" is actually ~50% white (so pretty much exactly gray) while the overall contrast ratio is a bit over 5:1 - keep in mind ~4.5:1 is considered the minimum contrast for decent legibility, which this tablet barely passes. When the cool front light is on at 100% the NA3C maintains the same contrast ratio but the whole screen gets brighter (so gray becomes a bit whiter but black becomes a bit grayer), but the NA4C does so in a way that contrast does improve more (6:1). With warm front light the 3C drops to under 4:1 and the 4C stays close to 6, at 5.8:1 or so. The odd thing I noticed was that when I did this but using screenshots for both devices on the left-hand side of the desk, the results were different, with the white appearing darker and the contrast ratio worsening despite them being closer to the light source. This might be a thing with the camera trying not to overexpose the image. Here are some (hopefully constructive) suggestions for future videos, Jeffrey: 1. It'd be great if the camera had manual settings so exposure doesn't change constantly, which now happens even as you move your arm around and cast a shadow. 2. Take a photo of the screen displaying a block of solid black next to a fully white section, and measure the HEX for each using some color picker. Then use a tool such as WebAIM to see what the contrast ratio is for each device The last one would be particularly nice because I have seen every reviewer complain about Kaleido's darkness, but no one actually make any measurements Thanks for the video
Thanks for the tips! I won't promise any changes in the coming videos, but when I have a chance to catch my breath and do some digging into my camera features, this is certainly going to be something I look into. The top-down shots are the hardest shots for me to pull off in my studio and I'm keen to try different things to make it better.
@@jeffreymoss Absolutely fair. If you end up considering the contrast measurement you may also want to display solid shades of RGB and measure the hex value of each to have an absolute value for the saturation levels, which you could put in your spreadsheet. Keep up the good work!
Yes. I haven't installed Claude before, but I did install ChatGPT on the NA3C. No reason why either of those would not work if there is an app in the Google Play store.
I have 2 boox devices I would like to synchronize both with out signing in to the cloud services, is that possible ? reason is not sure of there cloud security for personal data.
@@ernestodelatorre859 Got you, and I totally understand. Well, there probably are a few options, but most involve a manual transaction. For example, you can bind to Google Drive or OneDrive or others and use that as an intermediary to move files around. Another option is to connect your device to your computer, and then use that as the intermediary (although for some reason this stopped working for me about a year ago, I think it has something to do with my computer and not the devices themselves). The final option I can think of is using a product like Syncthing. The set-up will be involved, but you could create a more automated sync process that way. If you are interested in that, I did a video last year, and also put a link to a great article about that in the description of that video. @@AHBdV I am about to post a video with a color check between the two devices, and I didn't notice that. There were small differences I noted, but nothing notable in my mind.
@jeffreymoss thanks for the heads-up. Very much looking forward to your comparison! You're one of the few that does proper comparisons. From this preview ruclips.net/video/O7ev8eHmUUM/видео.htmlsi=BiFAM-GH50pPyHIn it seemed that the rest were more saturated...
For me, I use it mainly to help my videos. I write out ideas on the notetaking app at times, and then I'll type them up on the computer in Word or PowerPoint and then display them on the device as a teleprompter when I'm filming, using the front lighting. It's a very versatile device. I would imagine most people use it for notetaking and document viewing/annotating.
The battery drain is probably mainly due to the bsr tech (tho the frontlight definitely doesn't help). My go color 7 is not that awful as far as battery goes so far. I personally don't need the frontlight all the time as long as I don't expect it to be white.
I'll do battery tests to see what that impact is, but certainly using front lighting will drain the system faster. I usually don't use a lot of front lighting, but thus far I actually am going to max to get that white background which I do like.
@@jeffreymoss I totally understand turning it up, the go color 7 is way prettier with it on as well especially when the room is comparable to a very cloudy rainy day. That makes the screen very grey and only about 80% or more frontlight makes a difference. Interestingly I can get the same effect with 20% or less frontlight if the room is totally dark :(
comparison with viwoods that has no frontlight and is BW is like comparing apples and oranges. Ofc it's darker. It's just misleading. Compare it with the RMPP if you wish.
Yeah, I don't disagree with that. I just put that out there because people are often making a buying decision of color vs. black and white, so I'm just showing what the darkness of the screen means if one were to go the color route. But certainly not an apples to apples.
I'm hoping to do a color palette between the two in the 3rd video, so hopefully that will address that gap. I'll look into possible performance differences as well.
I'm waiting for a colored note max. Battery capacity is more important than weight since 13.3" size is large enough, so the use case is not hand-held, but stand on table.

Y realmente hay tanta diferencia entre el 3c y el 4c?
@@manuelayala3799 Having finished my review, I did not see a big difference. If you have the NA3C, you don't need to upgrade.
Thank you. The origami cover portion of the video helped me.
Nice intro Jeff, looking forward to seeing more
nice intro. Looking forward to a run through of the new software features on 4.0
So excited to see this!!!
Great comparison. Looking forward to further thoughts.
Could you review about battery of 4C, pleased? Thank you so much
Yep. I've already started battery testing.
Do the colors look any more vibrant like the claim made
I'll take a closer look at that. My initial thoughts are 'no' but I'll have a better sense looking at a color palette.
I think the remarkable pro is that screen size sweet spot, the max will be too big like an iPad pro 13 inch is too big for a tablet.
Having tested the Pro, I am inclined to agree.
Hi great review here, is it possible to install and use the ChatGPT and Claude App on the Note Air 4C? Appreciated

Yes, in fact I'm not sure there is a limit to how many devices can be sync'd. Currently, I have three.

would like to see handwriting in colors for the 4c
Yes, I'll show that in the visual tour, but what each pen style looks like.
so baffling that they really tried to sell the 4C as lighter in their marketing.
Yeah, I don't get that at all. If anything, the selling point should have been better front lighting.
I've seen some early review where the Red color is much better on the 4c vs 3c. But maybe that sounded too complicated for marketing...
