So glad we have an honest reviewer, but disappointed in fellow collectors who keep buying this stuff anyway. By purchasing inferior products at an inflated price, you're signalling to toy companies that you're okay with getting screwed and in the process, you're hurting the hobby by doing so. It's like staying with a partner who constantly cheats on you for fear of being alone. Stop already. There's so many better toys on the market.
I love Anthony's honesty, unlike hacks in the toy reviewing community like Kyle Peterson who are such obvious Hasbro shills. Dude eats up every ML wave that's thrown at him so he can pump out four videos per wave, and rarely has a mean thing to say about any of those awful figures. Gotta earn that RUclips revenue and Hasbro bucks!

it’s insane how two years ago we got the Shang Chi figure with ten hands and two weapons plus a baf piece for around 22 now were getting ones that sometimes have no accessories for almost 30
Valid argument to the 10th degree. We as collectors are allowing this type of nonsense by being complacent and buying garbage figures when we need more influencers letting hasbro have it when it comes to this crap

Well it’s easy to tell that this figure is made on the cheap. Only thing unique about it is the head and set of hands. We seen the body million of time. It paint job and costume looks generic and not worth $25. Any reviewers who say this is awesome are shills and should be avoided. There’s enough RUclipsr that will tell the truth.

I'm convinced that at this point Hasbro could make a figure of Marvel's The Wall by attaching Bucky Cap legs to a literal unpainted brick and you'd still get fanboys doing mental gymnastics to convince people that it's worth $27.

I’m so fucking tired of people accepting these decisions that Hasbro makes and then defending the figures for them. When will people start to maturely understand about Hasbro’s bullshit and actually care about what they are actually buying, it’s like they are mindless and doesn’t want to hear the truth about action figures. I know that I can’t swear like this on RUclips, but I just wanted to get this off of my chest for a brief moment.
Same...they even comparing it with much higher collectibles like s.h.f,mafex, mezco and more... and then telling people why hasblow is better in every aspect of articulation and price... yeah right hasbro jokers... A mold that is used since 10 years ago or so no Accessoires only hands... most of the time lolli-pop syndrom.. and looking like the cheapest shite plastic ever produced!
The more I watch your videos on these figures, the more I think the pinnacle of Marvel Legends was back in the 2000s under ToyBiz. You got good accessories, hand articulation on most of them and a comic book of some kind. I miss those days.
I'm generally okay with the price increase of Marvel Legends, but with price increases, quality should go up alongside it. I don't have a problem paying $25-$30 for a figure, but when this is what you get for your money, you really have to reconsider what's really worth getting. What baffles me is right now you can pick up Darwin as well as Herald Thor for the same price. Same price, same company, two completely different caliber of figures. Like you said, even at the old $20 price point, you'd be over paying, and if we're being honest, this figure is a peg warmer even at clearance prices.
Agreed! Got Hercules for a bit more than average retail and am fine with it. Some figures like the one being reviewed isn't worth the space it takes up despite the thin body.
I hate that overpriced repaints are becoming a growing practice for the line. The recent Stealth Future Foundation Spider-Man did the same thing to the same result; $30 for a repaint on an old body mold, and a really subpar repaint at that. There's a reason more and more people are dropping out of collecting these.

Ever since you did the reviews on the GI Joe Classified series of action figures I have completely decided to collect those. their quality, accessories, and price range far outshines Marvel Legends. I have also given up on purchasing and more Transformers because I want to be able to see the bot inside the packaging before I purchase or because I might decide ro display it in its original packaging. Thanks for the humor that you make of a travesty of this latest Marvel Legend.
The Joes are much better. Legends of late have not been exciting. Skipped a lot of waves last and this year because MCU phase 4 hasn’t been good. I would buy comic figure but not if a lot of them are the same quality as this Darwin. This figure in particular feels like an evolutionary dead end destined to warm pegs.

To be honest, I have all but stopped buying from Hasbro across the board. They used to make decent figures and even repaints every once in awhile. Now it just feels like they're doing everything in their power to actively push customers and collectors away. Hiked price point, no plastic packaging/no window, and overall lack of effort or care in the figures they put out as "collectibles" has all but killed the brand. I'd say, "Do better Hasbro," but that clearly just isn't going to happen. Smh
Anyone remember Prometheus and Bob? That claymation short they had on Nickelodeon in the 90s? Darwin looks like Prometheus if you repainted him. Not enough to make me want to buy this full price (I'm not buying the inflation excuse anymore) but worth exploring.
Remember back when we got generous accessories with Legends? Like Deadpool and Punisher armed to the teeth with weapons, comic Shang-Chi with all those hands, nunchucks and a BaF piece, and even Ultron with 100% new sculpt and silver paint, but we get junk like this for more. Getting hard to defend Hasbro here, they still make figs I want (Retro Beast for one) but it's hard to justify it now.
Thank you for all of the honesty Anthony! As much as I used to love this line of figures back in the day I just can’t justify buying the same body molds over and over again with the bare minimum put in.
They couldn't give us like... hands from the lizard? Or hairy hands? Energy effects? A head with gills? Literally anything to signify that his power transform him???
They could have easily drastically increased the value by giving him retooled hands for his adapting power (i.e. smaller peg fitting thing or hulk hands), and at least one alternate head like one mid- change like mystique, then saved on the body mold reuse

I mean some actually cost more. Those ML deluxe releases cost more than Selects. Thanos, War Machine, Deadpool, MODOK, those things cost more.

Now, looking at the ML Apocalypse vs the MS Apocalypse, the difference of price vs quality is the most blatant I've ever been able to see. Both look great, but they should at least be equal in price, but the Legends is like $5-7 more depending where you order him.

I know Toy Biz marvel legends has its flaws but it was also great, man I miss you biz marvel legends. Hasbro keeps Hasbroing. Everything slightly so plain and dull looking and the price, just me.

I've cut back on legends earlier this year. All figures should come with more accessories and different head sculpts. GI Joe's classified figures are worth the price I with the Joe's came with a fisted hand

Marvel legends fans need to start showing mcfarlane more respect for what he charges for his figures
They seem to only care about articulation...thats literally the only thing Legends has over Multiverse at the moment. As Multiverse is improving in that area, the fanbase has gotten noticeably bigger for McFarlane DC figures.
It's amazing! 8years ago some KO Transformers started to be better than Hasbro's original. Who would have thought Marvel Legends Ups and Downs to mostly KO or 2012 quality while doubling the price.
I have almost all KO MPs because they would often fix joints that snap on the hasbro versions.

@@sigerlion8608 If it's 70% metal, Hasbro would charge $500+. They tried to sell a Ghost Rider car made of plastic for $350. They are as greedy as they come.
I 100% agree with your critics, the only reason I'm buying it is because I want the BAF piece and with shipping and import taxes I would end up paying around the full ML price for it on the aftermarket. With some extra parts to simulate Darwin's powers it would have been acceptable.
Since the collector community in my country isn't that big it's BAF pieces are hard to come by separately.

That new 5 pack with the Human Fly, Silvermane etc is the same thing. I would've been been interested in them all bar that Spidey, if they put them on decent more appropriate body's.

While other marvel fanboys review their product to stay in Hasbros good graces, you are doing the true honest work which is what we need more of. More reviewers, not just advertisers ✊🏼

I bought a ton of figures that's good and bad before the price jerk up went into affect. Now I am EXTREMELY picky on what I get now. It's crazy because I have missed out on waves of figures.
For the price Jazwares/WCT gives you a ton of accessories, McFarlane gives you new sculpts, NECA loads their figures with paint. Hasbro and really it’s their Marvel Legends team for some reason only does the bare minimum and their figures cost more.
This whole wave was a mistake
From the looks so far Jada toys new street fighter line for around the same price are putting these toys to shame.

I think it's the Pizza Spidey buck. Which was fine when it was a pretty decently painted Spider-Man, but this figure sucks.
I find myself drifting more towards McFarlane product. I feel like that is mostly what I am buying. Oddly enough, as ML keeps making crappies figures, McFarlane is getting better with their figures. Not perfect, but much better than those first couple of waves.
Only Hasbro lines I am sticking too are G1 Transformers, and G.I.Joe Classified. They have been knocking it out of the park with those lines. Still, McFarlane has been getting weekly purchases out of me.

I feel like marvel legends hardcore collectors like everything hasbro puts out and they know it. The star wars black, classified and fortnite figures are all better than legends. At this point they just put legends figures out knowing that they'll sell so they don't even try
LMFAO!!!!! Shots fired in every direction on this one. Well deserved shots at that. Hasbro seems to be getting lazier and giving less but asking for more. I passed on a havoc today because the paint was so terrible. Sad.

Okay... sure, it's a super simplistic figure, on the pizza Spidey buck, but, I DO really dig the head sculpt and the proportioning with the "alien hands". ...that said, $25.00 IS too much for a re-paint with a new head and hands. If it was still $15 bucks, I think that would be fair, but paying inflated prices for a 10 year old buck, is a bit absurd, especially considering the advancements that have been made since that buck was released. Sik
The price hikes are unfortunately the reason why I don’t collect nearly as many ML as I once did.

It's a shame that Hasbro will put this out as a standalone release at full price, while every other line they sell at the same price point exceeds ML quality by every metric.
On that note, you might want to pick up one of their new Fortnite line, just to know. Possibly more value on the dollar than even the "Classified" line, when comparing the best examples of either. In particular, the "Lynx" figure has at least one feature worth talking about: the hand/wrist engineering. Its just a tiny change from the standard configuration, but one that could cause a minor revolution in 1/12 production at this price point. Unbelievable capacity for realistic firearm poses.
The main reason I pay the inflated price for the ones I want (not Darwin) is FOMO. I've been burnt when I didn't get a figure I wanted and the aftermarket is brutal (such as ML Worthy Cap).
Zup Anthony, I don’t care about this character, I gave up on ML a while back so it mean nothing to me, I am making a stand, until I see better results I won’t buy another ML, for sure, thanks for the video 😎👍🏼

All they had to do is make longer forearms for him and use a better body with a decent paint job.
I remember when I first bought a marvel legends (Black Cat) and I was so disappointed with her. She looked super plasticy and idk maybe it was because I was comparing her to Bandai stuff. But a few years ago they started to get good, and Id argue they were great for $20. Wolverine, Pizza Spiderman, freaking DrDoom. They even started doing premium figures for the movie and bigger boxed stuff like War Machine.
Then they jacked up the priced and dropped the quality. What the hell? And they bought Power Rangers which means its harder to get Bandai stuff (aka good things).

I understand your gripes with the figure and Hasbro in generale but I love this figure for the character. He has a kind of fragility about his look that I feel matches the characters first comic appearance. Also, I hate how they treated him in X-Men first class. "Adapt to this"... Well, he should have been able to do that, but he wasn't... That said, I agree they could have done a better job with him.

I seen darwin but they wanted I think 15 or 20 for him in a store and I’m like easy pass but I considered it because of you having him in every video.

i wish there was a decent 3rd part company making ML figs like there are for Transformers, Id be for sure getting those, just like i switched from Hasbro's TF. Maybe if Marvel stopped putting out trash movies, there'd be more interest in the figs.
I picked up this figure a couple weeks ago I was happy with the posability on it some things didn't make sense but I mean I spent the money and have my gripes about it lol

Glad I stopped collecting ML before the price hike.
Only ones left I want are Black Panther and a Spider-Man.
Both of which have good figures (even if Spidey might hold the record for the most crappy figures in the line).
