    Back at the RC videos! First up I need to do some mods to the Team Raffe trailer I pull with the Winnebago. Its just not low enough still. May need to go even lower, lol.

    If the ramps aren't longer than the trailer is wide, you could extend the tongue so they fit between the box and front rail. Then cut off the excess channel in the back for the drop. Or you could pull the axles/springs and make your own trailer.

    How about a couple of vertical plates, mounted either side of the draw bar, the top flush with the draw bar and the lower at what ever you want to achieve a mating height with the tow ball and mount the tow hook inside the 2 plates and provide a fixed, or variable height arrangement... Actually the plates could pivot at the top to provide variable height at the bottom... Your work is superb.. Well done

    You need to completely ditch the those axles and leafs. You’ll need to change the tongue and jack. Side plates with short stud axles, one at each end and a single pivot bolt in the center. You can drop that trailer frame to 1/8” from the ground if you wanted to. I’ve built two trailers this way, front and rear sets of tires still move up and down as much as you want, and it looks great.

    You could also use little lowering blocks between the axles and the leafs and cut some little c sections on the frame and maybe into the ramps too

  • @jeremyboyle5695
    @jeremyboyle5695 4 года назад +1

    Why not just drill some lowering holes in the vertical leafspring fixed-side mounts between the axles?
    You could also change it around to mount the ramp holders 90 degrees off so they run parallel to axles. That way ramps can come out from the sides fwd or aft of the axles, then just carry around to the back of trailer.
    Cool motorized tripod!

    Maybe mount the ramps up on the fender tops vertically? Go back to the Bolink video for a question from me if you could answer. Thanks! Awesome work!

    Drill a hole on those center posts that hold the leaf springs that will drop the leaf springs a tad

    Thoroughly enjoy your videos. I have the exact same trailer and this same problem with the lights. Lol What about attaching the ramps to the back of the trailer and using a small chain and hook to hold them up. Then you can drop the trailer more. Just a thought. Have a good day friend

    You could put the ramps by the tongue of the trailer by making a custom mount

    You dont really need leaf springs on a car trailer. It uses the suspension of the car so you can get rid of those leafsprings and make stub axles 1 for each wheel that swivels in the middle for some movement of the wheels over obstacles thats how I built my trailer to pull my rigs with

  • @jasonwilliams74
    @jasonwilliams74 4 года назад +1

    Move the ramp rack to the front of the trailer and slide the axles back some And go with a pintle hook for the bago and front of the trailer

    Make drop axles. Using the semi truck axles. Just cut and make them wider.

    Can you by chance get some smaller wheels and tires such as if you were building a boat trailer , lower the fenders and maybe put some skirts on the fenders to cover up the smaller wheels , boy wouldn't that be one of your regular great ideas lowering that trailer , what do you expect , I'm 60 and have never missed a video , you ask for ideas and I think of a lot of older hot rods from days past , can't wait to see what comes next ,

    Hey, Awesome builds. Try looking at a tandem walking beam assembly. It would attach to the trailer frame. you can get rid of the axles and go as low as you want and still have articulation on the trailer. I built one for a crawler trailer that works well. no axles to get hung up and you can keep the ramps.

    Lookin good josh! Wish ibhad the room for a scale shop lol. On the trailer, u said one option was to lose the ramps. Wat about turnin them sideways? Will one fit between the fender n the end of the tongue tube? N clear to pull it out wen u need it? The other would fit behind the fender n still have plenty of ground clearance.

    Hmmmmmm .......
    I would remove or shorten (drill lower holes & cut off excess) the leaf spring hangers myself bro , or hell maybe make up some new units LOL , get them leafs tucked up n' high to the bottom of the trailer floor.
    As always, Thanks fer Showin' n' Sharin' there McTorta Pants! :)

    So funny, I had this in my to buy list for several months. I just bought the same one a few days ago. I have a carbon fiber track I am gong to run mine on. I also want to try and have some sweeping over head shots, but will have to see how well it works in different positions.

    Possibly hinge the ramps onto the trailer and they just lift up, and pin them with some flat stock?

    Put the ramps on a hinge that way they can just stand up vertical off the back of a trailer I'm out for you up the room you need to lower it

  • @ZoeyR86
    @ZoeyR86 4 года назад +1

    make the ramps vertical drop ramps or shorten them a little and slam the thing on the ground. the lower the trailer the shorter the ramps can be..

    • @ZoeyR86
      @ZoeyR86 4 года назад +1

      Another option is tapee the tail and make it a tilt trailer use a servo to tilt the trailer lol

    • @RCeveryday

      I think steel. Could be different chinesium though. I’ve considered cutting and welding them into a drop axle. Just creating a lot of weak points in doing so.

    If you really want to lower the trailer more, get some low profile on road racing tires! They're a bit of a pain to mount, but they fit on the 1.9 beadlock wheels. I've used some HPIs on my little trailer. (You can see them in my video "Taking the mini out to crawl") ruclips.net/video/0FOwLO9HViA/видео.html

      Just order 5 lug hubs from RC4WD (part # Z-S0734 or the one you need - they make several) , and then you'll need new 5 lug rims of course, RC4WD.com would be yer go to there also.
