those are hpi wheelie/crawler king axles by the looks of them.
That is so awesome, that truck was local by me and I had lucky chance to take it for a spin. Love the truck and glad to see it made it to a good place. A big shout out to Jamie at JFR-OHR and Steve at RVRCC (which is my local group of great crawling buddies). Can't wait to see some trail footage Medic.
That's a mad project. I'm in two minds whether I would do it like this, or if I would try to make it into a lowrider, or even the Japanese style bozuku with heaps of led lights. Either way it would be sweeeeeeet.

I watched it as well!!! he wanted one for so long as he said... looks like you both made a great trade as you were just as excited to get the rv... an after doing the conversion it made it that much better with the 4 wheel sterring, upgraded individual motors and axles...

I think those are hpi wheelie/crawler king axles, I got an almost complete pair when I picked up an original axial ax10 scorpion a couple months ago. I've been thinking about a tonka conversion too, so I'm excited to see that Winnebago since I love camping!

That is a killer Tonka. I had no idea they ever made an RV. Would make a cool crawler, just like the one you recieved in trade.

its amazing to see one in that good of shape no plastic broken or damaged even the metal not all dented up very rare
I think this would be a really fun conversion. Maybe a leaf spring setup for the suspension, deffenatly try to squeeze a sound kit in and would be sweet if you could do a smoke kit and scale pipes. Man this one has my gears turning. Thank for sharing Aaron.
Im in my late 50s and that sure does remind me of all the cool trucks that tonka made. for those tonkas to hold up to the abuse we would put them threw, then to see them turned into a rc is just to darn cool
That Winnebago would make an awesome starter RC for my nephew!
That Winnebago is so cool my nephew would love it especially since my brother takes them camping and such it would be a fun gift

low-key 4wd setup- not too much lift, and scale tires. then a unique vintage paintjob
I love tonka they made toys to last and the fact watching RC Sparks is that you can turn any tonka truck into rc is well just awesome
It's hard to say. The work done with the RC version is great and would be a nice starting point for this one.

Man what a great project that that would be! Lol, my daughter saw it and wanted me to enter to win, but I already have two hard body convertions that I'm save for to be able to do. An old Tonka car hauler and a 1/8th scale pick up.
I've been working on a solid axle conversion for my old vintage dump truck but couldnt bring myself to hack it, so I made a trade with my son and am back underway. I had an entire spare trans with titan 775 for my summit I am trying to shoehorn in there but I think that RC4WD unit from the motorhome would work way better. Next up is my sons Tonka Motor Grader unless a Winnebago shows up. Thanks for the videos and inspiration.

I would love to get a hold of this Winnebago. I already know what I would do with it. I have a spare slash frame that I would through under it and reuse the existing wheels and axles on a 4' long enclosed race trailer I'm building. The trailer is long enough to fit 2 full size 1/10 scale Slash's inside.
That tonka takes me back, i had tones of tonkas as a kid.
Gave me so many incredible ideas of what to do with my sons toys ! i´ve never tought about do that ! great idea ! i was thinking about a VW bus Samba Model, picture that on a 4WD platform !

I'm currently converting a Tonka Dump Truck for my grandson, after seeing yours. I would convert this one for him as well.
As a child I wished every year for the Tonka Winnebago. Alas it was not to be. Now as a grown child to make this my next RC project would be amazing.
