- The Nature Boy Ric Flair had a story book ending to his career back in 2008, but nah apparently that was not good enough, so now 14 years later, at age 73. After getting a pacemaker implanted in his chest, after almost DYING. The man is going to go wrestle.. what's the worst that could happen right?

Why does Ric Flair want to wrestle again? This man, 73 years old, with pacemakers, blood thinners, and other health issues, still wants to get back in the ring. I get that he's passionate about the business, but come on, he should know when to stop. Wrestling at this stage of his life(let alone his career) is hazardous on many levels.
This has nothing to do with your comment but it’s crazy that sting is only ten years younger than him and still going

To give this more context, Triple H also has a defibrillator and pacemaker and is fully retired at 52 years old. Ric Flair is 21 years older and has lived as an alcoholic for decades. Dude was winded on WWE tv just doing promos with his daughter, he doesn't need to be in a ring taking bumps.

This isn't a wrestling thing - it's a human thing. My Grandfather, an old mechanic, was still running his garage up until his death at 103. He couldn't stop doing projects, wouldn't settle, had to keep looking for new projects to do in the future. As long as he lived, he wanted to work on cars. Honestly, I feel the same way, and hope I'm still doing what I love when I'm old and gray - it's what keeps us young, keeps us going, and Honestly, from a health prospective - doing such prevents alzhemers and dementia, which starts to set in when we do slow down, when we do stop, when become too complacent.
If this is what Rick Flair wants - it's not up to any of us to say no - we may nit agree - but as a human respect and simple curtouious gesture, we need to accept this is what Flair wants.
And if he dies - let it be known he died the way he lived - how he wanted to it to be.
I wish him luck in whatever he does.
I get what you’re saying on a concept level. But you’re lacking context. Your grandfather was doing something that didn’t require taking bumps hits and moving at a fast pace. No one is saying tic flair can’t commentate or shoot promos or be around the business but wrestling and putting your body on the line is dangerous. He’s got an addiction for what many wrestlers have when they experience that adrenaline rush in front of thousands of people. Unfortunately, he needs to realize that his is not young anymore and the entertainment business only needs you when you are young and go. This applies to any ShowBiz industry. Ric can’t cope with the fact that he is long forgotten and no one cares about him anymore.
Scott Hall and many other wrestlers went through and go through the same thing. The showbiz industry chews you out when you are frail and old. They don’t hear their name on the streets or in the WWE anymore which drives them to depression. Flair wants to cure it through competing in the ring. In reality, no one would pay a dime. Today’s generation is focused on young, agile wrestlers/performers who also will eventually go through the same thing.
I always joked that during a match Ric Flair will get hit, stumble a bit, do the Flair Flop, and never get up again. That will be the end of The Nature Boy. Hope that is only a joke
