the funny part is that I wouldn't be surprised if this was actually true. The level of craziness yoko taro's games have is out of this world, and the picture with the corpse with a flower kinda makes sense when you know about the yoko's universe, where drakengard and nier games take place

Okay update from the subreddit:
The guy posted a few more videos. He went back in as 9S and hacked the chest then died fighting the shadow (brother nier), then in another vid he beat the enemy and there was a stone replica of the two birds on the fountain from the first Nier game. They asked him the same question in Japanese but he kept replying with the 1st answer and was getting sent back to the start of the tunnel. This 100% feels like Yoko Taro fucking around and maybe revealing a new Nier game. The guy is obviously playing dumb, he kept going into the menu to use a small recovery instead of using the heal button, and why tf did he choose the first answer three times in a row without even trying the second answer lmfao.
Seeing this kind of easter egg/ARG hunting process in game with huge dedication and effort is like watching the indiana jones type adventure.

Update: It was indeed a very well made mod, the guy made a stream showing the god from one of the endings of drakengard 3 and at the end the team clarified it was indeed a mod, while it isn't a secret it is still huge beacause is the first time someone manage to edit maps for Nier automata

The craziest part of it is that if he is a modder thats even crazier because no one knows how to mod maps.
That room looks very familiar to the final room of Nier Replicant. The flower is a staple of that game (I think Lunar Tear.) And appears to be the younger Nier model or Yonah. I am unfamiliar with Drakengard, but I've been told it's of the same "universe." In any event, to me this looks like cut content for referencing the original Nier game and the Shadowlord himself. - It also would be a 100% Nier thing to do if it's actually an upcoming DLC to announce it in such a way.
That's what I was thinking.
Dont worrie im not familiar with Drakengard when i first got Neir didnt think was connected to another game till did more research, Yes Neir is tied to Drakengard was part of an Ending by devs who made Drakengard was intentionally was to be a joke ending or not, became something better that gaming community adores and loves. But even i never found this and either with truth or not this area exists but only time will tell if we actually get awnser of this area.
Imagine if the devs shipped 1 in 10 000 copies of the game with this extra area just to fuck with people.

That subreddit is already insane. Imagine the users complaining about fan service in the game despite joining a community dedicated to a game where Yoko Taro himself acknowledged how horny the game is.
I bet an ex dev that has some version of the source was able to mod it all in himself with little difficulty. I worked on Civ III back in the day and could have easily taken the old assets and made "impossible" changes. The fact that it's a PC build makes it even more plausible.
Potentially. I personally think this is just some mad viral marketing for the switch version.
This is the most likely scenario after a marketing campaign, right now the current moding tools do not allow for such a thing so it would have to be a dev or someone that worked on the port but it would also be very dangerous to do such a thing for legal reasons

@@suxkdaniles1677 Well yes there is still the possibility of one incredibly talented guy or group making a new tool for the game but this is still very unlikely with the engine used for Automata, so unlikely that I would say the possibility of someone recreating this part of the game in a completely different engine to make this video segment is more likely
I don't think Square would let any dev have any source code about any game lol.
Either this was done by Square, or is a hoax.
No publisher would let any ex dev carry source code with them on their way out, and I'm sure if that were to happen, Square lawyers would be let loose to shut it down.
Possible theories ranked from most to least likely:
1. Devs getting ready to release something and using an ARG to hype people up
2. Mod devs getting ready to release modding tools that would allow this level of editing, but are using an ARG to hype it up
3. Someone actually did discover a hidden area, and the reason for it not showing up until now is just a mystery, as it was presented by the original poster
4. Someone stole the source code and built the game themselves, and basically has full access to modding the game
5. Someone recreated the game in a different engine and creates this fake area
6. Someone faked this gameplay in blender or similar
While it’s possible this is real, the evidence against it is as follows: dataminers finding nothing, this guys posting a PC build and lying about it being on console, making an account specifically for this, and saying that it’s only on 1.0 and he never connected his PS4 to the internet (very strange claim to make)
The only way this is possible is if his game is modified from every other copy of the game in some way, which, maybe is possible, but one guy somehow getting a weird dev build of the game is just not something that happens

But the Frame rate and textures Look to good to be version 1.0 so that dosnt make sensemarketing campaing it the most likely awnser

@@monokomomo4977 The game Noita actually has some hard-coded assets you can't just mess with in the files or datamine. It's a 2D pixel game, so I don't know if that can apply to 3D models too, but there is definitely a precedent.

Actually there’s a lot of “evidence” in that room that makes it more evident that it’s Yonah in the shadowlord’s castle. On the ground near her are some objects that are found in the final room in Gestalt as well.

I'm very new to NieR as a whole, in fact I've only been on the outskirts of the community (played Automata's 3 routes once each) and I LOVE THIS SERIES. The lore is fucking amazing, it's so impressive how much shit Yoko Taro has in this one universe. It's so deep that I understand absolutely nothing but want to know everything. I still don't know what a Gestalt or a Replicant is, but shit, I wanna learn. Here's hoping for another pc-console released NieR game.
I've been playing Nier Replicant. I decided I should check in on the subreddit cause I stayed away from it when Replicant released. And all I saw was insanity. And a few people saying "this sub was single handedly revived by this. Eat it NSFW cosplayers and artist!"
There's even people treating it as a conspiracy from the devs to hype up the sub again.
I wish it's the devs, because damn the sub was miserable. It was just horny posting and low effort 2B cosplay for promoting onlyfans. What is there to talk about when the game has been out for 5 years?

This is one of the biggest breakthroughs in modding I've seen in a while, pretty much all the mods up to this point have been visual mods for fidelity and costumes, if this dude shares his findings we could get proper NieR in engine fangames (the only ones that exist so far have only been simple hacking style mini games or typical lewd ones) so I'm excited for the future of this.

To me, it looks like the room you first find Weiss in, but with church pews, Yonah lying where she was in that room with the flower she always talked about, the Lunar Tear, and Nier’s Replicant crying over her.
My take on this anyway. The androids and machines have access to Human records and may have access to the history of Nier, Yonah, Emil and Kainé, seeing as they’re the basis of YoRHa and the androids
@@onyxserenitatem7636 I like the idea, but I think it's fake. You can't interact in any way with the two figures and the items on the ground don't have that arrow that pops up when you're near them. Also someone said Weiss is there hidden in the upper part of the church, near a window, but to me it just looks like a missing texture or something like that left by the modder or whatever he is, and the cutscene that plays when A2 enters the church looks rushed ( I'm talking about the camera doing that weird zoom in and out stuff).
(edit): forgot to mention A2's reused line of dialogue.
The reddit user just uploaded an update, he opened the box with 9S and it contains a document on Yonah, a character from the first Nier game and the girl with the flower on her chest. The enemy (dubbed by the community as Blobby) attacks the player and kills him. An interesting thing is the moveset of the enemy resembles that of Shadowlord, the brother of Yonah and the final antagonist of the first Nier game.
Edit: They posted another update. After defeating Blobby, you can interact with a bird bath, the same bird bath in Shadowlord's Castle that gives the same riddles.

The Document about Yonah and "blobby" are already in the game.
The document can be found in the copied library from NieR Replicant in The Tower, and you fight blobby as 9S on Route C during the main story
Honestly, every single outcome of this mystery is extremely interesting. Is it a genius marketing ploy for something new related to Nier? Is it actually real? Was it part of something that was scrapped early on? Was it an incredibly well designed hoax, years in the making?
I can't wait to find out.
The flower growing out of that character model was the most interesting part to me. Taro is known for 4th wall breaks, if this is yet another one, I wouldn't be surprised.

@@SpicySpaceCat00 its a guess from everyone, noone and i mean noone has found a way to make custom maps in Nier to this day so it being modded is impossible so theres soo little to go by from either it being a rare cut content or switch marketing given that video editing is waaay too much work to bother with so it just leaves us with 2 options and one being yoko or square doing some marketing for the switch version
Futago means Twins. There are many twins in Yoko Taro's games including the Red Girls, Popola and Devola, Seere and Manah, Adam and Eve, Emil and Halua, and the One twins.
Note : Yoko Taro seems to have a thing for a pair of characters or companionship. Games he made will have a playable MC with someone, or something to accompany them. The player will never be truly alone.

It was confirmed that is was a mod for PC made by 3 people.
To be fair this might be a new piece of content that could be dlc or part of the switch port and Yoko Taro himself is doing all this. He's that kind of game dev. He does whatever he wants and he will confuse you for the fun of it. So I'm leaning towards it being possible new content that Yoko taro has made and is doing that as a way to promote it.

Can I just point out that when he goes down the hallway, the bot starts to shake, almost as if the pathing/ground interaction with the bot makes it shake although when he boosts the bot floats smoothly almost as if to hide the shakiness of the bot. I saw this a few days ago. One of the few games I really took the time to get a platinum trophy for. I'm glad to see this series is getting some more love and attention.
But it's nagging at me.... I feel like... I had seen that door before. I'm probably just imagining it, more than likely. But the more I think about it, the more I feel like I've seen it. Definitely not the other parts of it though.
Can't wait to sit down and watch the actual videos he put out on it.

@@flowershopapt The issue with it being a mod is the fact that there currently aren’t any tools to map edit as shown in the video, hence the theory of why it has to be a dev. If it IS a mod, then it’s a pretty brilliant way to announce to the community that “Hey, I made a breakthrough and you can create custom maps now.” But the user themselves is acting incredibly weird, replying to messages as if he wasn’t the one who posted the original video. As well as sending an encrypted message that when decrypted shows an ascii code version of one of the game’s song lyrics.

Considering After spending like 80 hours on Nier i only got ABCD endings and the game still continued i forgot to save after 4 hours of gameplay and just abandoned it. With endless repeating assets and a story that seemingly never ends.
If this is a hoax he chose the best game possible to use for a hoax.
I kid you not, I had a similar experience with COD: Black Ops. I think it was the second last mission, where Hudson frees us and we roam around getting our memories back as Mason. My experience was SO UTTERLY BIZARRE, I thought it was a wild dream. MY experience playing the game were completely different cutscenes, completely different dialogue, with walls being torn down and tiles flying past my face. Mason's memories were shown completely different. As a matter of fact, Hudson wasn't the one who freed me, I freed myself. Mason just ripped the belts off his wrists and started walking, just like that. At the end, I did meet Hudson where he punches you, but the game got soft-locked. I couldn't move, Hudson couldn't move, the game didn't progress, no matter what I did, nothing worked.
Keep in mind, I was eight, so I didn't know what I could do to resolve. I looked up on RUclips and saw that other people had experiences different to mine, so I just watched the RUclips gameplay and called it a day.

I'm a huge Neir fan. The Replicant remake was by far my favorite game in the last few years.. I'm scared to see what this video is about after reading the title.
Not gonna scroll through hundreds of comments to see if someone posted this, but for one:
Futago means "twins" in Japanese. This could be a direct reference to Adam and Eve in Automata, Nier Replicant/Gestalt, or possibly many other things in Taroverse. It could even reference Taro and Saito in some way.
This definitely smells of viral marketing. Regardless, it's exciting. Seeing something new, especially from a game half-a-decade old that seems like a dormant and undiscovered secret that gets the community frantic is fun. Which seems like the goal. I'm excited to see what comes of this. It reminds me of the old days when rumors were spread like wild fires.
I could see this being something newly developed for the Switch release that is being teased as DLC/Update content for the existing versions and teases something new from Taro.
It's also kind of sus that this whole thing is happening now... Same time as there is a Nier-automata collab with PGR (a mobile gacha/action game)

@@th1cc people who is familiar with the architecture of the game said it's a hoax, especially when literally ONE guy in managed to enter the church. If it's a glitch, someone would have been able to replicate it by now.
@@norasyikinali6283 its hard to say since equally qualified modders have been unable to edit the map, and they've trying since the release of the game. dont think anyone think its a glitch, but faking it would take a number of modding breakthroughs
either way, if its fake it'll quite literally open the floodgates to insane amounts of modding potential.

Same, any proper Taro fan is at least aware of the existence of Drakengard and DoD3, and I wouldn't call the disgrace of an app Reincarnation a proper entry.
As someone who's played NieR Replicant in its entirety along with Automata, this entire thing seems like something Yoko Taro would do for a publicity stunt. Even the church itself is oddly reminiscent of the church in the Cathedral City in Drakengard 3. The body on the alter with the Lunar Tear growing from it could potentially be Yonah, as the bracelet on its wrist is the same one she has in Replicant's version 1.22. The shadow figure could potentially be the Shadowlord with how it's shown to us. There's also a birdcage next to the door which, in another video SadFutago posted, speaks. And there's also Devola and Popola's staffs laying near the alter as well. All in all, very good mod if a hoax but considering who the game's creator is, it isn't out of the realm of possibility for Mr. Taro to be trolling us and laughing as he's doing it
Hey, all I know is *NieR Automata* in my eyes is *the best game of all time* /made so far and I'm glad that it's getting more attention again.
And I say that as someone i.e. an old gamer, who played the shit out of Starcraft Broodwars and played MG2.
Oh also Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139 is the newest game and a remaster of the original NieR and available on PC, so NieR Automata is factually not the only one for PC.
