I still don’t get why people think earning money in a game is new. You’ve always been able to make money off of trading in game items in games and you’re technically earning those items too by playing the game. So why is this new? Oh because it has “easier” transactions like Etherium rather then a PayPal account…

By trading items and selling those shit on things like eBay or off place app. Ofc I’m not talking about the new Crypto type things, those entirely dumb. Rocket League’s items is a huge market for making money and other things like Steam marketplace, CSGO, WoW, Trove, any MMO RPG type shiz and some old afk games. Even GTA online account building is a marketplace, the car trading community is huge for people trying to make a quick buck. It’s a huge market even though you aren’t supposed to trade in game items for real money. As long as it’s not a Crypto thing, it’s entirely not new and it’s been like this since WoW.

From what little I've read, GameStop is inviting Game Developers to incorporate some Block Chain technology that GameStop is promoting.
This rube claims that he just was to be able to buy and sell in-game items on the block chain so everyone can earn, but we all know what that means. I want this nipped in the bud.
The developers I support through crowd funding aren't stupid enough to fall for this, but someone will. The sooner this GameStop scheme is stopped, the fewer people will be hurt.

Funfact: the logo of polium comes VERY close to the logo of "poliigon". That one is actually a very trusted brand in archviz and 3d rendering and their names and logos seem a little too familiar..

I -have- actually seen other companies using something so similar to the Gamecube logo that I thought they were going to get sued. But a games console? Those guys must be trying to speedrun a time-to-Nintendo legal threat. Though it's hard to believe they can beat Soulja Boy.

Such a simple thing to realize, and yet, pretty much no-one even thought about that. Sure it'll be decentralized, but at the same time it's just doxing yourself if it were to reach the point in your hypothetical situation.
I believe it depends on degree of centralization vs decentralization. Theoretically you are totally right about capability, but that is more along the lines of CBDCs. There is a polar ideology in crypto space that is focused on developing for sovereignty and financial freedom seperate from existing legacy system.

It's more likely to develop slowly and steadily with a focus on fundamentals and tech over monetary gain. The scammers get all the publicity and air time for now. IMO, it's just going to take time to evolve and sort itself out.

They say it does 4K, ray-tracing, and 120fps, but I don't know if even the most powerful GPUs that currently exist can do all of those at the same time in modern games.

7:24 I thought this stupid from the start, but the fact that they're trying to show off HTML as a separate language from others like JS really show how little they know about actual programming, as SOG pointed out.
If anyone is wondering why, HTML is a markup language, meaning it does not have formal logic. If you try to make a program using just HTML (using doesn't count since it's just embedding JS into HTML, therefore not using purely HTML), you're not gonna have any interactive elements. It'll literally be a static page.

I don't think there is a combined HTML5/JS logo, so in my opinion, it feels like a stretch to criticise the use of the HTML5 logo. I think the reason why for example Unity lets you build your project to HTML5 instead of saying "build to WebGL" or some other Javascript library is the name recognition HTML has outside of the programming world compared to Javascript. And Javascript has to run from somewhere; it isn't compiled to an EXE file or similar. It needs a web browser in order to run.

Honestly the first time I saw the Polium logo, I thought it was just another generic tech-ish company using a hexagon as a base for the logo, because this is what minimalism has brought us to, basic shapes in basic logos. I didn't even equate it to the GameCube logo, because of what logo minimalism has brought us to, Nintendo was so far ahead of their time when they made the GC logo. I also like how their Twitter handle has two underscores, looks super official of an entirely legit brand.

I get ads all the time here on RUclips for a Spanish language real estate seminar (I think that’s what it is) that’s ripped off the GameCube logo as their own all the time. I have a screenshot, it’s multicolored and still is in the shape of a G but the center cube is gone and it has a house in the center instead. They have a RUclips channel Ganadores IBR. They straight stole the GameCube logo.

I miss when crypto was about creating a decentralized technology that allowed for secure transactions. If Satoshi Nakamoto is out there he'd see this and cringe hard, these soulless corporate bootlickers are leading to their own destruction by causing normies to advocate for strict restrictions on decentralized currencies due to this lofty, impulsive and futurist web3 nonsense.
I also find it kind of sad that they're using literally anything as a selling point, like being able to interpret differing programming languages isn't a new thing, computers have been doing it since god knows how long, on a basest level every program is still made up of hexidecimal and binary codes regardless of which language was used to write it.
Satoshi was a bit deluded from the start, did he not think the FBI and other orgs would buy up all the bitcoin immediately? We don't even know if he's a real person, at this point. Wouldn't be surprised if it was all a means to an end with people's transactions becoming public as soon as their wallet is known and having all the potential monetization with NFTs.

@@johnr797 the FBI could have never bought all the Bitcoin because all the Bitcoin hasn't even been mine yet and it didn't gain popularity until a couple years after it's inception so what you're saying doesn't make any sense. Nfts took like 8 or 9 years after brc to be created so that can't be a point either

The fitbit thing doesn't actually bother me that much. It could be a fun way to reward yourself through exercise that isn't just a pokemon go clone. Say you have a fitness routine and you like games. Now you get an additional reward for doing what you're already doing or encouraging you to do more just to hit that next milestone in game. I'd imagine it's a type of game you'd just check in with once a day and do a couple things then go to a different one. The only thing that bothers me is of course the NFT stuff but I'm really not mad at the concept. I can see it being more effective than something like Wii fit or Xbox connect that forces you to stay inside and really aren't that effective if your goal is weight loss. Not being restricted to the home and a small area at that kinda addresses the problems with those games and doesn't interrupt your routine if you already have one. Like if you prefer to go to the gym you can still do that or go on long walks with your dog or friends. Even on vacation. Really wish this concept wasn't tied to stupid NFTs I would buy it.
