Muay Thai PROS I find it therapeutic and something that can be done anytime and anywhere. Love the channel and the information you share. Great work mate. All the best from England 🏴
Advanced techniques won't help you if you don't know the basics! Great videos, this is something everyone can practice a couple of minutes before going to the dojo or gym every day.
@@Muaythaipros im in the opposite boat, i just started a muay thai gym and so far im put into the normal class of all levels, and the class goes over 2 combos every day. But i have had no real practice of basic fundamentals like in this video! I find myself questioning and wondering how to best place my feet and balance when throwing combos.... Im going to continue at this class for a while but I wonder if this is a normal path for beginners? I thought I would be doing very very basic things like this video tutorial because learning bad habits in anything is hard to break later down the line.
Thank you so much, I love your channel. Very helpful. Question: I noticed sometimes that the foot that follows in the movement was sliding instead of stepping. E.g. when Ann was moving forward, he would step on his lead foot but slide his rear foot; and when he was moving backward, he would step on his rear foot, but slide his lead foot, etc etc. So are you supposed to slide the foot the follows or should you step on it ??
Slide or step. When it comes to Muay Thai or striking in general, it isn't like programming, there is a lot of nuance and room for flexibility. That's why when you watch two high level fighters kick, there will be slight variation in their technique depend on their body type, and who taught them.
@@Muaythaipros Thank you, I understand. I always step, but I thought I was doing it wrong when I saw this video. I appreciate the humility and flexibility. A lot of other instructors would simply reply "it's this one way or the highway". Much respect to you guys.
Muay Thai is full of trade-offs much like everything else in the world... consider a roundhouse kick to abdomen.... If you commit and really push hips forward, it can be devastating, BUT you will telegraph and be a little slower, and the opponent's check can really hurt you.... if you go very fast and do not telegraph, it cannot be as hard.... And there is every shade of grey in the middle here. So you have to decide... not as a style necessarily, but in the moment... without even really thinking, but as a matter of second nature... not just this one thing, but essentially hundreds. Other than "techniques" that are simply wrong, always practice both ways . Always end in a "good one"... practice practice And don't let any details keep you from practice
Guys legs are like tree trunks! Great footwork, from a boxer’s point of view Bet he kicks like a cannon ball, first time I’ve seen a Maui Thai fight learn to punch 1st ?
I noticed his front foot is down flat and his back foot is raised. This feels most comfortable to me. However others say the front foot should not be loaded and should be light….which is correct?
Don’t drag your feet either. You don’t want your opponent to know where you are if they have their eyes closed. On the ball of your foot at all times. ❤️🤍💙🤍❤️
Probably cuz it’s faster than a step. Think about it. Dragging your feet to your next position is quicker cuz your foot doesn’t have to travel in a mini arc when dragging.
Look at his legs !!!!!
He's a beast
They are machines 🔥🔥
You mean his tree trunks?
I love drilling the basics!!
Sounds like you are ahead of the game already.

That's what i tell people all the time. Guys want to learning flying knees and spinning elbows, before they know how to move with balance and control.

Is it recommended that we also practice foot work for a month+ ?
Practice your footwork for 15 minutes a day before you start training and it will improve over time.
Is there a reason to go heel-to-toe when you step forward? He goes toe-heel going backward and same question applies.
Thai fighters have some of the strongest looking legs
Calves so big you could milk them, holy shit.
